Abstract

With the rampant and rapid development of technology in the digital era, there is a change in character and the development of professional skills in society. Where this affects the ethics and behavior of today's younger generation, this research was conducted out of an urgent need to analyze the impact of Christian Religious Education in balancing technological mastery with a strong moral foundation. The purpose of this study is to understand how Christian religious education can shape students' character, such as honesty, responsibility, and ethics, as well as develop professional skills needed in the digital workplace. This research uses a qualitative methodology with a case study approach, where data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis from several Christian education institutions. How Christian values are integrated into the learning process to shape a better personality, and how students can develop digital skills and soft skills such as leadership and communication, are the main topics of discussion in this research. Christian religious education plays an important role in producing learners who are not only technically competent but also have strong moral integrity. This research is proven to have a positive impact on the transformation of students' personalities and support the development of professional skills relevant to the digital era.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 5.0 has brought significant disruption in various aspects of life, including in the structure and leadership patterns of the church. Digital transformation requires congregational pastors to adopt new approaches, both in communication, church nurturing, and in reunderstanding spiritual authority in the midst of an ever-evolving virtual reality. This article aims to analyze relevant forms of congregational pastoral leadership in the digital age by emphasizing the importance of a balance between spiritual authority and digital competence. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with theological analysis methods and contextual reflection to formulate theological implications and practical strategies for local churches. The results of the analysis show that congregational pastors need to develop contextual spirituality in the digital space, implement participatory leadership patterns in the online ecosystem, and lead the church collectively in innovation rooted in gospel values. This article recommends strategies in the form of sustainable digital coaching, hybrid ministry reorganization, and the formation of a theological and adaptive church culture in response to the dynamics of the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze contextual discipleship as a strategy for Christian education in a multicultural society. The study uses a mixed-methods approach with a convergent design to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of discipleship in shaping the character and spirituality of students. Quantitative data were collected through surveys, while qualitative data were gathered through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The results show that contextual discipleship plays a significant role in strengthening faith understanding, fostering tolerance, encouraging social involvement, and shaping students to be more responsive to the challenges of technological development and digital culture. Contextual discipleship proves to be effective when implemented consistently, based on mentoring relationships, and capable of translating Gospel values into the students' social context. This study concludes that contextual discipleship is a strategic approach that can present holistic, transformative, and relevant Christian education amidst diversity. Contextual discipleship allows Christian education to have a greater impact in shaping character that aligns with the demands of the times and contextualizing faith values in everyday life.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Great Commission in the context of the digital era, focusing on the utilization of information technology by the church and gospel ministers. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, digital observation, and document analysis, the study finds that digital media offers significant opportunities for the expansion of the Christian mission. However, its utilization is still not optimal due to low digital literacy, lack of theological integration, and limited strategies for adequate digital discipleship. The findings suggest that digital ministry requires a strong communication theology foundation, an inclusive relational approach, and clear digital ethics to maintain spiritual depth in ministry. The study also emphasizes that the digital world is part of missio Dei, so the church needs to develop hybrid ministry strategies and dialogical faith communities. Therefore, digitalization is not just a tool, but also a new theological space that demands a deep integration of theology, technology, and pastoral care. In this context, the church must develop a more holistic understanding to face the challenges and opportunities offered by the digital world for a more effective Christian mission.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in the past decade has transformed Christian Religious Education (PAK) through synchronous–asynchronous models, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and blended learning, thereby expanding access and enriching both cognitive and spiritual learning experiences. However, this digital shift also introduces new risks related to child protection in online environments. National regulations mandate schools and higher education institutions, including PAK, to embed safeguarding principles into digital learning practices. Recent literature identifies three main research streams: the effectiveness of technology-enhanced learning, Christian ethics and digital spirituality, and faith-based digital literacy. Nonetheless, three research gaps remain: (1) limited integration of legal norms into technology-driven pedagogy, (2) absence of a safeguarding-by-design framework tailored for PAK, and (3) insufficient evaluation instruments to measure child protection outcomes in digital learning environments. This study aims to: (a) analyze the juridical implications of child protection regulations for the design, implementation, and evaluation of technology-based PAK strategies, (b) develop a “child-safe technology-based PAK framework” that integrates theological-pedagogical formation with regulatory compliance. The scientific contribution of this study lies in offering a PAK strategy that is not only pedagogically effective but also legally compliant, ethically grounded, and pastorally responsive thereby fostering a safe, inclusive, and child- centered learning ecosystem in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between Christian Family Discipleship and Ethics of Holy Living toward achieving Christian Household Harmony. The Christian family is understood as a covenant institution whose primary purpose is sanctification and discipleship. Harmony within the household is viewed not merely as the absence of conflict, but as genuine peace (shalom) founded upon biblical principles. The methodology utilized in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature review, assuming that data is derived from surveys/literature studies involving Christian families. The independent variables tested are the consistency of Christian Family Discipleship practices (as the means/process) and the application of the Ethics of Holy Living (as the standard/morality), while the dependent variable is the level of Household Harmony. The research findings indicate a positive and significant relationship between Christian Family Discipleship and the Ethics of Holy Living, both simultaneously and partially, regarding Christian Household Harmony. Family Discipleship serves as a tool that actively trains and internalizes spiritual values, while the Ethics of Holy Living, especially the principles of forgiveness, Agape love, and humility, function as the normative foundation that must be lived out. It was found that the synergy between a consistent Discipleship process and the practice of Holy Ethics produces a stable and transformative harmony, supported by the unity of spiritual purpose and covenant-based conflict resolution mechanisms. This study concludes that strengthening Christian Household Harmony requires investment in Discipleship that gives rise to the Ethics of Holy Living, which should be the main focus of church ministry and parental responsibility.

Abstract

This study examines the role of social media as an arena for contemporary spiritual warfare and its impact on Christian spirituality, particularly in the context of increasing digital misinformation. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research combines quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to identify patterns of religious misinformation dissemination and its impact on doctrinal understanding, worship practices, and the faith identity of the congregation. The findings indicate that exposure to misinformation negatively affects the depth of spiritual practices, increases theological confusion, and creates "alternative authorities" promoted by digital influencers. Additionally, the lack of spiritual media literacy and the church's unpreparedness to serve in the digital space exacerbate the vulnerability of the congregation. This study concludes that the digital space has become a significant battlefield for spiritual warfare, requiring theological, pastoral responses, and enhanced integrated media literacy. Therefore, it is recommended to develop theology-based media literacy, provide training for digital leaders, and create contextual, evidence-based church content strategies to strengthen the spiritual resilience of the congregation in facing misinformation in the digital world.

Abstract

The post-truth era and the dominance of social media pose significant challenges to public theological discussion practices, making the Christian community vulnerable to the spread of misinformation. This study aims to develop and test a digital literacy model for Christian educators to optimize social media as a space for healthy and critical dialogue. Using a mixed-method sequential explanatory approach, the study shows a significant improvement in information verification capacity and algorithmic awareness after the intervention. Qualitative findings reveal a paradox between emotional engagement and critical awareness, which was successfully addressed through the internalization of Christian communication ethics. The integrated model, which combines technical skills, public theology, and ethics, proves effective in transforming educators from passive consumers to active change agents in the digital space. Thus, educators can ethically and responsibly moderate theological discourse, making a significant contribution to creating a more thoughtful and open digital space for deeper and more meaningful theological dialogue. This research has implications for the development of digital literacy curricula in Christian education and serves as an initial step toward shaping a generation of educators who are critical and intelligent in facing the digital challenges of the future.

Abstract

The growth of the digital era has a significant impact on Christian Religious Education (CRE), requiring a curriculum transformation to integrate Christian family values into academic learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design to analyze the integration of Christian family values such as love, open communication, and spiritual discipline—into the CRE curriculum. The results indicate that the integration of these values is effective in shaping students' Christlike character, encompassing cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions. Furthermore, technology-based learning becomes more meaningful when Christian family values are applied in the learning process. The study concludes that a curriculum model integrating these values can produce educators who are not only theologically competent but also Christlike in character, adaptable to digital developments, and responsive to the challenges of the times. This will strengthen the holistic faith formation in higher education, creating a generation that not only has a deep understanding of Christ's teachings but is also prepared to face the dynamics of life in the ever-evolving digital era.
