Abstract

Traditional evaluation of Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) learning success relies on subjective teacher assessments lacking objectivity. This study aims to integrate DBSCAN and XGBoost algorithms to analyze learning patterns and dominant success factors in BIPA. Quantitative Educational Data Mining (EDM) exploratory approach applied to 200 students population at Songsermsasana School, Hat Yai, Thailand during 27-day KKN, using complete tabular data sample. Instruments include activity scores, class participation, attendance, exam/quiz scores, study time, and question frequency variables; analysis techniques involve preprocessing, DBSCAN clustering (ε=0.5, minPts=5), and XGBoost feature importance. Results reveal three clusters: Cluster 0 (high speaking/writing >80), Cluster 1 (stable receptive skills), Cluster 2 (low attendance), with speaking score (15.89%) and writing score (11.61%) dominant. Hybrid model outperforms K-Means in handling noise. Research provides objective data-driven evaluation for global BIPA teaching personalization.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving the academic achievement of fourth-grade students in the Social Sciences (IPS) subject at Al Mutaqina Imama Private Elementary School. This research utilizes an experimental quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research participants included the entire population of fourth-grade students for the 2024/2025 academic year. Data was collected using test instruments. Based on the final test results, the posttest score of the class using the problem-based learning model was 82.4, while the average score without the use of the media was 75.8. Comparative data analysis indicated a significant increase: the students' average scores rose from 75.8 (before the intervention) to 82.4 after the implementation of PBL. Hypothesis testing using SPSS v.25 yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000. Given that the significance value is < 0.05, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, confirming that PBL has a positive and significant impact on student learning outcomes in this subject.

Abstract

The foundation of this study is the paucity of research on the use of flag ceremonies to teach elementary school pupils discipline and responsibility. In actuality, this exercise plays a big part in helping pupils grow as people. The goal of this study is to explain how the practice of flag ceremonies might help fourth-grade kids develop a sense of accountability and discipline, pinpoint challenges in putting these customs into practice, and assess how this activity affects the development of students' character. Participants in this study, which employs a descriptive qualitative methodology, include the principal, class teachers, and fourth-grade pupils at SD N 2 Ngabean who were specifically chosen. Following data collection by observation, interviews, and documentation, source and technical triangulation approaches were used to assess the data's validity. Through active involvement in ceremonial tasks, adherence to rules, and the habit of being disciplined and punctual, the flag ceremonies habit effectively instills a feeling of responsibility and discipline in pupils, according to the study's findings.Disparities in student motivation and a lack of comprehension of the significance of the flag ceremony were among the challenges noted.These results are consistent with the goals of the study and provide credence to the character education hypothesis, which highlights the value of routines and role models in promoting responsibility and discipline. According to the study's findings, regular flag ceremonies can help primary school pupils develop moral principles if they are accompanied by their teachers. The study's implications include enhancing character education research and offering useful advice to educators and schools on how to best use flag ceremonies as a character-building tool.

Abstract

This study discusses the low learning interest of fourth-grade students in fine arts learning at SD Negeri 2 Banjarejo, which is characterized by a lack of enthusiasm and student participation. The purpose of this study is to describe teacher strategies in overcoming low learning interest, determine the condition of student learning interest, and identify the causal factors. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving fourth-grade teachers and students. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers implemented active learning strategies, the use of interesting media, project-based learning, and providing positive reinforcement. These strategies were able to increase student involvement and interest in learning in fine arts learning so that the learning process became more effective and enjoyable.

Abstract

Accountability has become a critical issue in higher education management, particularly in relation to quality assurance and performance transparency. This study aims to examine how educational quality management strengthens institutional accountability through internal quality assurance practices in Indonesian higher education. The study employs a qualitative semi-empirical approach by integrating a systematic literature review with document analysis and reflective evaluation of Internal Quality Assurance Systems implemented through the PDCA cycle (Establishment, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement). The analysis focuses on how quality management processes are translated into accountability mechanisms through evaluation-based decision-making and continuous improvement. The findings indicate that educational quality management contributes to accountability when internal quality assurance is implemented as an integrated and evaluative process rather than a compliance-oriented administrative activity. Leadership commitment, systematic use of evaluation results, and the development of a quality-oriented organizational culture are identified as key factors influencing the effectiveness of accountability mechanisms. The study concludes that accountability in higher education is not merely an external reporting obligation but an outcome of educational quality management embedded within internal quality assurance systems. These findings provide practical implications for higher education leaders and quality assurance units in strengthening accountable governance and sustainable quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of Game-Based Learning (GBL) as a form of reflective learning in the effort to realize emancipatory education within a digital context, taking as its point of departure the strong dominance of transmissive instructional practices that continue to constrain student agency and critical dialogic engagement. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and the analysis of instructional documents involving teachers and students engaged in the implementation of GBL, with participants selected through purposive sampling. Thematic analysis reveals three principal findings: a shift in students’ roles toward becoming active learning subjects, the development of reflective practices grounded in gameplay experiences, and the emergence of spaces for critical dialogue that foster the growth of social awareness in the classroom. These findings affirm the capacity of GBL as a reflective pedagogical medium oriented toward emancipation. In terms of implications, they highlight the necessity of designing GBL with systematically structured phases of reflection, while further research is recommended to explore cross-level applications and long-term impacts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at MI AL Muhajirin. Writing is an important aspect in Indonesian language learning, especially in the form of narrative writing skills that require students' abilities to organize ideas, structure a story line, and use language appropriately and coherently. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that most students experience difficulties in writing narrative essays in their entirety, such as in organizing the story line, developing paragraphs, and using appropriate vocabulary. In addition, deficiencies are also found in linguistic aspects such as spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN Bangunharjo through the use of the Kahoot application which is integrated with the Problem Based Learning model and analyze the level of effectiveness of its application in learning. The method used was an experiment with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design design which involved two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, each consisting of 27 students. Data collection is carried out through the provision of pretests and posttests. Data analysis includes normality tests, homogeneity tests, Independent Samples t-tests, and N-Gain tests to determine the difference and magnitude of improvement in learning outcomes. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental class, with an average N-Gain of 0.56 (medium category) which was higher than that of the control class of 0.51 (low category). In addition, the results of the t-test showed a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05 which indicates a significant difference between the two classes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Kahoot application integrated with the PBL model is effective in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students. Abstract

This study aims to present a current literature review on the role of unplugged activities in improving elementary school students' computational thinking skills. The study used a structured narrative review method for 10 key articles. Analysis was conducted by identifying and coding data from each article to generate key themes. The results of the analysis indicate that unplugged activities are effective in improving students' computational thinking skills based on the findings of quasi-experimental studies and meta-analyses. Unplugged activities also have a holistic impact, not only improving cognitive outcomes but also strengthening students' motivation and self-efficacy. Furthermore, the study highlights the unplugged-first model as an effective pedagogical practice, discusses the use of computational thinking assessment instruments such as TechCheck, and emphasizes the importance of teacher professional development and adaptation of unplugged activities in the context of artificial intelligence. This study provides practical implications for teachers, curriculum developers, and policymakers, particularly in the integration of unplugged activities and the balanced allocation of learning resources. Furthermore, this study proposes a future research agenda that includes longitudinal studies, instructional differentiation, cross-disciplinary transfer, ethical literacy in artificial intelligence, and the development of computational thinking learning models.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education demands the development of innovative learning media that not only improve learning outcomes but also strengthen students' cultural literacy. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Banjar-language digital comics in improving the cultural literacy of elementary school students. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest involving 75 5th-grade students from three elementary schools in Banjarmasin, namely SDN Belitung Selatan 1, SDN Pelambuan 4, and SDN Sungai Miai 11. The research instrument was a cultural literacy test. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, paired t-tests, and Cohen's d effect size. The results showed a significant increase in students' cultural literacy scores from the pre-test (M = 56.00, SD = 18.80) to the post-test (M = 63.20, SD = 20.20), with a t(74) = 3.20, p < .05 and a medium effect size (d = 0.38). These findings demonstrate that Banjar-language digital comics effectively enhance students' cultural literacy through the integration of visual representations, the Banjar language, and contextual cultural narratives. This research provides an empirical contribution to the development of innovative learning media based on local culture and strengthens the role of learning media in supporting regional language preservation and learning transformation in the digital age.
