Abstract

Abstract.  Cereals and legumes used as animal feed containing phytic acid which cannot be absorbed by the digestive tract of monogastric animals because phytic acid (C6H18O24P6) is an antinutrient that binds approximately 80% P in feed, also binds to proteins, vitamins and minerals (Mg++, Fe++, Zn++, Mn++, Ca++). Then, one option to overcome this problem is the application of phytase enzymes from various sources, including those produced by bacteria. Phytase enzymes can hydrolyse phytic acid in the feed. This study was aimed to determine the growth phase of Burkholderia sp. HF.7 and optimisation of production of phytase activity from variations of Phytate Production Media (PPM) media. This research used as a descriptive approach. The study design used a completely randomised design (CRD) with a factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors, each variation in phytate sources: calcium (Ca) phytate, rice bran, corn bran, and soybeans. Nitrogen source: (NH4) 2SO4, yeast extract, and peptone. Burkholderia sp. HF.7 Growth phase as a standard for phytase production is the 62-hour stationary phase with an OD value of 2.060 log/cell. The optimum phytase production in the variation of PPM media is soybean-peptone with a protein content value of 46.5 mg/mL and an activity value of 8.20 U/mL under conditions of pH 7 with incubation of 37oC for 62 hours. So, phytase activity produced by PPM of cereal crops has a higher current value compared to PPM Ca-phytate media with low activity value.Keywords: Burkholderia, Phytate, Phytase, enzymes.

Abstract

Mengubah kegiatan praktikum ke dalam model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, bertujuan untuk melatih dan mengembangkan keterampilan metode ilmiah dan keterampilan proses sains bagi mahasiswa. Selama pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, mahasiswa menggunakan manual laboratorium sebagai pedoman untuk melakukan aktivitas pengumpulan data. Prosedur kerja pada manual laboratorium, menguraikan secara jelas dan lengkap tahapan kegiatan membedah, mengamati, dan mengidentifikasi organ-organ tubuh, pada spesies tertentu yang mewakili lima kelas dari filum vertebrata. Pada tahap akhir pembelajaran, mahasiswa mengorganisasikan data yang telah mereka peroleh dan mengkomunikasikannya dalam bentuk laporan ilmiah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitaif. Instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar kognitif, kuesioner respon mahasiswa terhadap manual laboratorium dan kegiatan pembelajaran, serta dokumentasi dalam bentuk laporan ilmiah. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa manual laboratorium memudahkan mahasiswa dalam aktivitas pengumpulan data. Pembelajaran ikuiri terbimbing juga mendapat respon yang baik dari mahasiswa dan membantu mereka dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kolaboratif sangat menekankan pada aktivitas kelompok, interaksi belajar, dan kerjasama antara mahasiswa dalam mengerjakan tugas. Penerapan pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini dirangkaikan dengan kegiatan lesson study, agar pelaksanaannya lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa.  Disamping itu antara dosen yang tergabung dalam tim lesson study juga dapat saling belajar dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Selama kegiatan pembelajaran, dosen memberikan tugas yang bersifat open ended yang mendorong kegiatan eksplorasi dan kolaborasi. Rancangan kegiatan pembelajaran kolaboratif diarahkan agar mahasiswa dapat terlibat secara aktif, dengan melakukan aktivitas belajar seperti mempresentasikan tugas, memperhatikan penjelasan dosen ataupun rekannya, berdiskusi, bertanya, mengemukakan pendapat, dan menjawab pertanyaan. Dari data hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa, tahapan pembelajaran kolaboratif yang diterapkan telah berhasil melibatkan mahasiswa secara aktif selama proses pembelajaran. Hal ini dikarenakan, seluruh tahapan kegiatan pembelajaran sangat menekankan pada keterlibatan mahasiswa dari awal sampai akhir pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan lesson study selama penelitian ini, juga telah mempererat kolegalitas antara tim lesson study, membentuk mutual learning (saling belajar), dan meningkatkan profesionalisme dosen sebagai pendidik dan pengajar.

Abstract

Tumbuhan sirsak (Annona muricata Linn) adalah tumbuhan yang telah lama digunakan oleh masyarakat secara tradisional untuk pengobatan dan sebagai bahan makanan, seperti pengobatan kanker, diare, anti kejang, anti jamur dan gatal-gatal.Tumbuhan ini merupakan salah satu spesies dari genus Annona termasuk family Annonaceae.Metode penelitian meliputi ekstraksi (maserasi), dan uji bioaktivitas ekstrak dengan Uji Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BLST) terhadap Artemia salina. Dari hasil  uji toksisitas dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test, diperoleh aktivitas ekstrak kloroform  kulit batang sirsak dengan nilai LC50 adalah 247,86 ppm.Kata kunci: Annona muricata Linn, Toksisitas, Obat Tradisional, dan Artemia salina

Abstract

This research aims to identify improvement of biological learning achievement through the application of ATI (Aptitude, Treatment, Interaction) learning model on students of Class XI Science 3 SMA 1 Ajangale Bone. This research is packaged in classroom action research conducted in cycle repeats. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, reflection and replanning. Data collected through learning achievement test which given after first and second cycle, and then analyzed by descriptive statistics quantitative. The results showed that implementation of the ATI (Aptitude, Treatment, Interaction) learning model can improve biological learning achievement of the student of Class XI Science 3 SMA 1 Ajangale Bone.

Abstract

Abstract. Caterpillar grayak (Spodoptera litura) is one of the pests in various types of vegetable plants are polyphagous and have a wide range of hosts. One common way of controlling farmers to overcome Spodoptera litura attack is to use insecticide. The use of insecticides that are not rational will accelerate the occurrence of pest resistance against insecticides. An alternative is needed to develop biological products which are generally narrow-spectrum chemicals to target organisms. Flowers at four (Mirabilis jalapa) contain bioactive compounds that are toxic. M. Jalapa contains some secondary metabolite compounds such as saponins, flavonoids, tannins, and polyphenols. Based on the description above it is necessary to conduct a research to determine the percentage mortality of caterpillar grayak on giving the leaf extract at four o'clock flowers. The method used is leaf dipping methods and analysis with POLO-PC software. The results showed that 1.6% concentration of extract of M. jalapa can kill the number of larvae as much as 30 tails with a percentage of 75% within 48 hours. The LC50 value of mortality of M. jalapa extract on Spodoptera litura larvae was 0,507% (0,378-0,661 with p <0,05) with slope1,516 ± 0,318.Keywords: Bioinsecticides, Mirabilis jalapa, Spodoptera litura, Mortality

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of the research was to find out the effect of adding egg white as the tough material to the salt content and cooking shrinkage of meatballs. The research was held on July to August 2018 in the laboratory of agriculture, animal farm, and fishery faculty, Muhammadiyah university of Parepare and continued analysis of salt content in the live stock chemical laboratory of animal farm Faculty, Hasanuddin Makassar University. The researcher used broiler meat, water, flavoring, garlic, pepper, salt, egg white and ice cube. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, that is T0 = without tough material, T1 = 15 grams of egg white, T2 = 43 grams of egg white, T3 = 74 grams of egg white. The research result showed that the addition of egg white as the tough material at different concentration have a real impact to the salt content and cooking shrinkage after being continued with the Duncan test it was found that there were differences and significantly affected the salt content and cooking shrinkage meatballs. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb) pada langkitang (Faunus ater) di perairan Desa Maroneng Kec. Duampanua Kab. Pinrang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April-Mei tahun 2013, pengambilan sampel dilakukan di dua titik stasiun yaitu stasiun 1 (area mangrove) dan stasiun 2 (area pantai). Sampel didestruksi basah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (SSA) AA-7000 shimadzu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata konsentrasi logam berat timbal (Pb) pada langkitang dari kedua stasiun adalah 1, 82 mg/kg yang artinya telah melampaui ambang batas dari SNI yaitu 1,50 mg/kg.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is experimental which aims to determine the effect of giving Tempe Flour to total blood cholesterol concentration of hypercholesterol mice (Mus musculus). The independent variable of this research Tempe Flour while the dependent variable is the total blood cholesterol concentration of mice (Mus musculus). The subject of this research is 25 male ICR strain (Imprinting Control Region) mice with 3 months age divided 5 treatment groups which are normal group, hypercholesterol group, giving of tempe flour at dose of 10 g / day / BB (P1), 20 g / days / BB (P2) and 25 g / day / BB (P3). Tempe flour is given after the giving of cholesterol feed. All mices blood cholesterol concentration were check after the time of treatment. The result is analyz by using ANOVA with Ducan test. The result of this research show that the giving of Tempe Flour affected the decrease of blood cholesterol concentration of mice (Mus musculus) in dose of 10 g/day/BB,20 g/day/BB and 25 g/day/BB. Dose of 25 g/day/BB showed an effective dose for lowering cholesterol in the research.   Keywords: tempe flour, cholesterol, hypercholesterol, mencit (Mus musculus)
