Abstract

Now, there are acts of discrimination against Islamic boarding schools, where it is stated that Islamic boarding schools are referred to as places where radical understanding grows and rejects the progress of the digital world. Luckily, it is contrary to the facts in the field which were proven from direct pre-survey in Riyadlatul Ulum Islamic boarding school at Bumiharjo 39 B Batanghari East Lampung. This research aims to discover character education models based on the values of Islamic boarding school tradition. This research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data is collected by natural setting as a live data source. The result of this research showed that the traditional values practiced at Riyadlatul Ulum Islamic boarding school are responsibility, sincerity, hard work, smart, clean, religious, nationalism, deliberation and award value. Moreover, the educational characteristic model developed at Riyadlatul Ulum Islamic boarding school is information supply (ma’lumat tsabiqoh) related to the nobel character through book study in order to grow sensitivity and realization of goodness through tradition that were implemented for a 6 years study program. The findings of this study prove that negative opinions about Islamic boarding schools cannot be generalized as a whole because Pesantren actually contribute to the development of good education characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to produce interactive digital e-book teaching materials on social studies basic concepts based on religious moderation values ​​and determine student responses to interactive social studies e-books based on religious moderation values. The development of this interactive e-book uses Research and Development (R&D) research methods. The use of the R&D method aims to produce new products or improve existing products. The R&D method that will be used refers to the ten steps of Borg and Gall theory. The results showed that the interactive e-book of social studies basic concepts based on the values ​​of religious moderation received a very high or very decent rating from the validators of material experts, media experts, and religious moderation experts with the criteria for assessing the suitability of content with the curriculum, construction and readability. The small group trial which was given an assessment by 30 students who had taken the social studies basic concept course in the Tadris IPS study program obtained a very high rating and was suitable for use with a percentage of 83.38%.

Abstract

Jaringan Sekolah Islam Terpadu (JSIT) is a new phenomenon in the discourse of Islamic education in Indonesia, which developed rapidly in the Reformation era after the fall of the New Order government in 1998. This article is partly derived from the results of research on the development of JSIT in Indonesia, especially in Lampung and Banten. The results of the study show that the emergence of JSIT was initially pioneered by the Tarbiyah Movement (Gerakan Tarbiyah) which became the embryo of the emergence of the Integrated Islamic School. This movement was originally a da'wah movement that emphasized the individual piety of its members and then moved politically after the fall of the New Order regime in 1998 by establishing the political party PKS (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera), while at the same time engaged in education by establishing JSIT which developed an integrated Islamic education system, and growing rapidly. The emergence of these integrated Islamic schools also gave rise to pro and contra responses, because of their connection with the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwanul Muslimin), which is considered a representation of radical Islamic groups. However, the learning model developed by JSIT became a new thing which was later adopted by educational institutions outside of JSIT which also established integrated Islamic schools. JSIT has progressed and developed quite massively in Indonesia, although these schools are expensive, but it has not stopped the community from sending their children to school, and most of them come from well-established and educated socio-economic class families. This research also shows that the existence of JSIT has significantly contributed to the development of Human Resources (HR) who are superior in science and religion, because the curriculum is designed to combine general knowledge and religious knowledge at the same time. JSIT in its work has contributed to creating a new educated Muslim group in Indonesia in this contemporary era.

Abstract

The purpose of this systematic review is to analyze and discuss Shariah Governance in the Islamic banking system from multiple integrative studies. The following study as a meta-synthesis approach employs the ENTREQ technique based on the inductive reasoning approach synthesized selected studies for the issue of Shariah Governance in the form of secondary data. A qualitative analysis research method is used to discuss the given issue systematically. This study employs a meta-synthesis approach of 40 research papers with 4 themes - Shariah audit, Shariah risk, Shariah supervisory, and Shariah Board which are the functions of Shariah Governance. The systematic review of synthesizing finds that Shariah Governance in Islamic banking has its strengths and weaknesses in improving the stability and performance of the Islamic Banking system based on the Shariah compliance requirements. In addition, the result and discussion of the present systematic review have two sections: synthesis finding and synthesis evaluation.

Abstract

The present study aim was to analyze human capital development in Indonesian Islamic banking sector, and mainly this study discussed the potential of Islamic banks employee’s knowledge and skills improvement for strengthening their competitive advantages. The following research used qualitive analysis method with primary data collection in the form of semi – structured interviewing of HR manager’s Islamic banks in Indonesia. The result and discussion of present study indicated that indeed, Islamic banks in Indonesia need to strengthen their competitive advantages by delivering an effective training to improve employee’s competency. As mentioned, the finding of study indicated that Islamic banks have to invest more on human capital development as source of business value creation for increasing workforce productivity. In addition, the finding of this study contributes for further research to discuss the contemporary issue of human capital development in Islamic banking industry.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Implementation of the Behavior Modification Approach to Improve the Quality of Islamic Religious Education at SDN 01 Padurenan Gebog Kudus. This research uses a qualitative approach and the type of research is field research, aiming to look at social phenomena or social facts associated with a theory related to these symptoms or facts. The subject of this research is PAI teachers. Data collection techniques used in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Testing the validity of the data used is in the form of source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. Data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman models, which include Data Display, Reduction, and Data Verification Conclucion (Verification Drawing). The implementation of the Behavior Modification Approach in Improving the Quality of Islamic Religious Education has been quite successful because of an approach from stimulus to response through behavior change and careful preparation. This success is inseparable from the theory created by Thorndike in the form of Connectionism theory, this theory explains that by including the existence of a special interaction between stimulus and response, which influences behavior in the learning process. This influence can be applied through the laws of learning created by Thorndike, namely (1) the law of readiness, (2) the law of practice, (3) the law of consequences.

Abstract

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has changed various dimensions of human life, including government bureaucratic services whose main task is to provide services to the public. Based on the background of the problem, the purpose of this study is to examine and provide recommendations on how bureaucratic services carry out their functions during the transition period of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature study. The data sources of this research are secondary in which the data are obtained from journals, books and articles. The results of the analysis show that bureaucratic management in the transition period of the Covid-19 pandemic faces 2 (two) challenges that must be solved, namely the internal dimension and the external dimension. The internal dimension is how to ensure that the apparatus can carry out their obligations in accordance with their respective duties and functions supported by predetermined outputs. The external dimension is how the bureaucracy is able to provide public services to the community with limited conditions that require the provision of public services to be based on health protocols. This condition is an opportunity for the bureaucracy to be able to formulate a Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy to carry out the work given based on performance-based optimal output.

Abstract

It is necessary to develop students' mathematical literacy skills from an early age, starting from elementary school considering that the results of Indonesian students' mathematical literacy in the 2018 PISA assessment are very concerning, where Indonesian students are ranked 6th lowest. The purpose of this study was to analyze the extent of elementary school students' mathematical literacy skills. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were fifth grade students of SD IT Wahdatul Ummah Metro Lampung City with high, medium and low levels of students' mathematical abilities. Data collection techniques using test methods, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed by triangulation technique. The results of the study showed that students who had high mathematical abilities were able to solve mathematical literacy questions correctly up to level 3 only, for questions at levels 4 to 6 they only met the indicators of formulate mathematical process. Students with medium and low literacy skills are only able to solve math literacy questions up to level 2, students with moderate abilities are unable to fulfill the mathematical process indicators on questions level 4 to 5, but for level 6 questions students with moderate ability fulfill the indicators of formulate mathematical process. Meanwhile, students with low abilities did not meet the indicators of mathematical literacy levels 4 to 6 at all.

Abstract

Higher education must become a strategic ecosystem in developing Pancasila values ​​to regenerate student democratic life. The purpose of this study was to find out and describe the influence of understanding Pancasila values ​​on the democratic life of STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung students. This research involved 358 students spread across 7 (seven) study programs. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the correlational method. The instrument of Pancasila values ​​was adopted from the embodiment of the socialization material "Four Pillars of National and State Life", while the instrument for democratic life was adopted from the embodiment of Udin S Winataputra's opinion. Prerequisite tests and data analysis techniques in this study were carried out with the help of the SPSS version 25 application. The results showed a significant influence between the understanding of Pancasila values ​​on the democratic life of STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung students with a correlation value of 0.538. This research proves that college students fulfill the requirements as interest groups and legitimate democratic actors. The involvement of students in social projects and problem-solving provides more opportunities to develop students' fighting power and critical power. This will further enhance students' understanding of Pancasila values ​​which will ultimately improve students' democratic life. The trilogy of success in learning student democratic behavior focuses on the relationship between learning in the classroom, the importance of student autonomy, and the development of democracy played by the government.

Abstract

Internet-Based Resources is one of the solutions for increasing an aspect of English proficiency. This study aimed at knowing the Internet-Based Resources in their learning and to encourage English students’ vocabulary. The method used in this research is experimental research. Sample of this study consisted of English students including 26 students as the experimental group and 26 students as the control group. Each class had five sessions that must be completed, those were treatments for three times, one post-test, and one pre-test. The result found that IBR is effective for students’ vocabulary in writing an interesting, exciting to use and in combining their ideas with new words or vocabulary easier. The mean of the post-test in the control group was 73.53, on the other hand, in the experimental group was 83.12; the degrees of freedom totaled 25, the sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000, and the standard deviation was 8.500. The computation shows that the t-test has a higher score. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a positive impact of this method to encourage students’ vocabulary in English Language Program. The vocabulary mostly achieved for pre-test and post- test in the control group was 412 to 370. However, in the experimental group, the pre-test and post-test ranged around 355 to 470. The increasing ratio of the experimental groups in acquiring vocabularies over Internet-Based Resources was 13.90%.
