"STAIZA: Comprehensive Journal of Islamic Studies" is a peer-reviewed national journal published biannually by the Research and Community Service Institute of the School of Islamic Religion KH Zainuddin Mojosari Nganjuk. This journal is published in Indonesian, English, and Arabic. The journal publishes articles on Islamic Studies covering both literary and fieldwork studies twice a year, in Mei and November. The journal emphasizes aspects related to Islamic studies, with specific references to Islamic Law, Islamic philosophy and Mysticism, Islamic Politics and Society, Tafsir and Hadith, Islamic Education and History, and Islamic Economics. "STAIZA: Comprehensive Journal of Islamic Studies" is an open access journal, meaning that all its content is freely available without charge to any user or institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the original articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access.

Abstract

Hermeneutics in general can be said to be a method of understanding not only texts, but thoughts, including Indonesian Islamic educational thought. With this method, the significance of educational thinking that has great potential to be developed today will be seen. In this case, Hasan Hanafi's hermeneutical reading begins with the essence of Wahid Hasyim's educational thought and its influence on the historical conditions surrounding it in decision making; second, exploration of Wahid Hasyim's educational reform methods as outlined in eidetic criticism; third, what are the moral values that want to be built practically in the Islamic education system in Indonesia based on the presuppositions and horizons of Indonesian society which are the targets of its educational thinking.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the utilization of the learning resource center in the library for the Indonesian language subject at MI Darussalam Kolomayan Wonodadi Blitar for the 2023/2024 academic year and to describe the improvement in reading skills in the Indonesian language subject through the utilization of the library's learning resource center for fourth-grade students at MI Darussalam Kolomayan Wonodadi Blitar for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

 The relationship between state and religion in Islamic politics has become a crucial issue, especially through the perspectives of two prominent thinkers, Ibn Taymiyyah and Muhammad Abduh. This study aims to understand how these two figures view the relationship between sharia and governance and the contribution of their ideas to contemporary Islamic political discourse. Library research is employed as the research method, encompassing a literature review from books, journal articles, and other secondary sources to achieve a comprehensive analysis of their thoughts. The findings reveal that Ibn Taymiyyah supports implementing sharia as the foundation of the state, emphasizing the importance of religious tradition and authority in political governance. Conversely, Muhammad Abduh offers a more rational, adaptive approach, emphasizing the need for education and Islamic thought reform to meet modern demands. Although they come from different viewpoints, both provide significant contributions tointegrating Islamic values within political practice. This study concludes that both Ibn Taymiyyah and Muhammad Abduh remain relevant in facing today’s socio-political challenges, illustrating the need for a dynamic dialogue between tradition and modernity within Islam.

Abstract

Dale Cannon in his book Six Ways of Being Religious identifies six main ways of being religious. This research focuses on exploring these six ways in an Islamic context, aiming to understand Cannon's perspective on religious practice and its application in daily life. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach, using relevant primary and secondary sources. The results show that the six ways of religion include: (1) Sacred rites, which include the performance of worship such as prayer, fasting, zakat, and hajj; (2) Doing good and right, which emphasizes harmonious relationships with God and fellow humans; (3) Obedience, which is manifested through faith and piety; (4) Intellectual pursuits, which are efforts to gain knowledge and wisdom through reason; (5) Mystical pursuits, which involve intuitive experiences and ascetic disciplines; and (6) Samanic mediation, such as the practice of dhikr and remembering God. This approach reflects the diversity of living a spiritual and religious life, and can help understand the variations in religious practices across communities and individuals.

Abstract

 This article analyzes the implementation of the concept of convergence between pesantren and educational institutions in the context of yayasan based management. This research was conducted with a case study at Yayasan Al Mardliyah Mojosari, which is an educational entity that integrates traditional Islamic boarding schools with various modern educational institutions. A qualitative approach was used by conducting in depth interviews and observations of key stakeholders. The results showed that the convergence between the pesantren and educational institutions of Yayasan Al Mardliyah Mojosari has resulted in a unique and effective yayasan based management. The integration between the traditional values of the boarding school and the formal education curriculum has improved the quality of education holistically. In addition, the synergy between the various educational institutions within the foundation has opened up extensive collaboration opportunities and improved operational efficiency. In conclusion, the implementation of the convergence of Islamic boarding schools and multiple educational institutions in foundation-based management at Yayasan Al Mardliyah Mojosari shows great potential for improving the quality of education as well as operational efficiency. The findings provide insights for other educational foundations to adopt similar management models to strengthen their role and contribution in the development of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Research aims to determine the effect of group guidance services using symbolic modeling techniques on the self-efficacy of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darun Najah Bojonegoro students. This research uses a quantitative experimental method, one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this research was Classes 1 and 2of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darun Najah Bojonegoro, totaling 30 students. The sampling technique used was total sampling and a sample of 6 students was obtained. Researchers used data collectors in the form of a Guttmant scale with 2 alternative answer choices, namely yes and no. In the research results, it is knownthat the posttest results of the experimental class which resulted in Madrasah Ibtidaiyahliki increasing in value compared to the average pretest score before being given 6 treatments was 58% and after being given treatment with symbolic modeling techniques, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah increased by 95% and the difference between the increases between pretests. and posttest of 57%. From the Wilxcon testusing SPSS version 22.00, the output results show a Sig value of 0.003 < 0.05, which means there is a difference between the preetest and posttest so that Ha is accepted, there is an influence of the symbolic modeling technique group guidanceservices on the self-efficacy of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darun Najah Bojonegoro students

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the development of project-based learning media in enhancing students' creativity in Social Studies (IPS) subjects in elementary schools (SD/MI). This study is a qualitative descriptive research with library research subjects drawn from previous research journals. The study is based on several journals relevant to the topic of project based learning media development in Social Studies to enhance creativity in SD/MI. The findings indicate that project based media can increase student engagement in learning because it provides relevant and meaningful contexts for them. The use of project-based media often increases opportunities for students to explore topics in depth and engage in active learning.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the observation that the dominant lecture method in teaching statistics 2 courses resulted in minimal student understanding. Students' lack of understanding of the application of data analysis techniques studied in this course is due to several factors, such as the complexity of the material, lack of interest, and ineffective learning methods. To overcome this problem, a learning strategy approach was taken which has been proven to be an appropriate learning strategy and in accordance with student characteristics which is able to increase understanding of the material being taught. The learning strategy used is the Research Based Learning (RBL) technique. RBL is a learning technique that uses research aspects in the learning process. In its application, students learn to actively look for research articles for analysis-synthesis as well as material for creating research articles according to the material being taught. The research method uses the Quasi Experimental Research method with a Pretest-posttest Control Group Design which aims to design a learning model for the statistics 2 course that is integrated with technology in improving the learning of Sharia Banking students. By implementing research-based learning, students' critical and creative thinking skills in statistics material are expected to improve.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the use of Financial Technology (Fintech) on the efficiency of sharia financial management, particularly in sharia financial institutions and sharia-based SMEs in Ponorogo Regency, East Java. The development of fintech provides a significant opportunity to improve the quality and efficiency of financial management in the sharia economic sector, which has long faced challenges in terms of transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency. By leveraging technology, sharia fintech can help SMEs and sharia financial institutions manage their finances in accordance with sharia principles that emphasize justice, transparency, and blessings. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey technique, involving the distribution of questionnaires to 100 respondents consisting of sharia SMEs, financial managers from sharia financial institutions, and users of sharia fintech services. Respondent selection was carried out using purposive sampling to ensure that the sample involved had an understanding and experience related to the use of fintech in financial management. The collected data was analyzed using simple linear regression to test the relationship between fintech usage and the efficiency of sharia financial management. The results of the study indicate that the use of fintech has a significant impact on improving efficiency in financial management, particularly in aspects such as more systematic financial recording, ease of digital payments, and faster and more accurate financial decision-making. These findings strengthen the importance of digitalizing sharia financial services, particularly in areas like Ponorogo, which has significant potential for sharia-based economic growth. This research is expected to contribute to the development of policies and strategies to improve sharia financial inclusion through the adoption of technology, thereby strengthening the sharia economic ecosystem at both the local and national levels.

Abstract

 Marriage is the longest form of worship in a person's life and is one of the most desired things by every human being. Therefore, it must be prepared earnestly. Among the many preparations that need attention, one of the most important is choosing a partner. Choosing a partner is a determining factor in the household that will be built. One method of choosing a partner is through matchmaking. Matchmaking not only occurs in society at large but also within pesantren where the Kiai often plays the main role in arranging marriages for the students. This research aims to analyze the practice of matchmaking as well as the Islamic legal perspective on it. This study is categorized as field research, which will be conducted directly using a normative-empirical approach. The data collection techniques used are interviews and documentation. The sources of data include both primary and secondary sources. The primary data consists of interviews with the Kiai who arranges the matches as well as the individuals involved in the matchmaking process. The secondary data serves to support the primary sources and includes books and articles related to the topic. The findings of this research explain that the matchmaking practice in Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Shirothul Fuqoha’ begins with a respectful visit to a kiai and being summoned, followed by a meeting. Due to the students' obedience to the kiai, most of them accept the matchmaking proposed by him. The students being matched are usually those who have completed their studies, serve in the pesantren, and are considered ready for marriage. From the perspective of Islamic law, this matchmaking practice aligns with the principles of Islam and falls under the category of maslahah tahsiniyah, indicating that such matchmaking is acceptable and justified by local customs and brings positive impacts to the households that are formed.
