Abstract

This article aims to assist elementary school teachers in teaching poetry writing skills. Writing poetry is often perceived as a challenging process that requires considerable time to implement. Moreover, writing instruction in general is frequently seen as complex due to the various cognitive demands it places on students. One of the main challenges lies in the stigma that the creative writing process must integrate both linguistic and non-linguistic elements to contribute to the cohesion of a text in an academically sound manner. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, focusing on the use of visual media in poetry writing instruction through a literature review. The use of images can support students, particularly at the elementary level, by offering a more engaging and innovative learning experience. Based on the analysis of 10 literature sources, visual media significantly enhance students’ poetry writing abilities. Therefore, this method may serve as an effective alternative for teachers in the instructional process and as a means to cultivate literary appreciation.

Abstract

This study aims to delineate the concepts of science and technology within Islam through a literature review. Modern humanity demonstrates collective intelligence in the form of science and technology, necessitating a profound understanding of these concepts from an Islamic perspective. The research findings indicate that QS al-Alaq, 96: 1-5 and QS Fushshilat 41: 33 implicitly classify fundamental human knowledge into natural and social sciences (derived from ‘cakrawala’ or ‘afaq), and humanities (derived from ‘self or ‘anfus), which include philosophy, linguistics, logic, and mathematics. Technology in Islam is understood as a human endeavor to channel and disseminate divine grace to all creatures, manifesting human devotion to the Creator.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the integration of ecocritical approaches in poetry teaching and their potential in enhancing environmental awareness among junior high school students. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research methodology that analyzes various primary and secondary sources, including scientific journal articles, reference books, and academic publications, related to literary ecocriticism, poetry pedagogy, and environmental education. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis techniques with a thematic approach to identify conceptual patterns and build a synthesis of understanding regarding the integration of ecocriticism in poetry learning. The research findings suggest that integrating ecocritical approaches into poetry teaching can be implemented through a systematic process encompassing the selection of ecologically themed poetry, the development of relevant learning contexts, textual exploration from ecocritical perspectives, and the implementation of creative activities. Students' responses to this learning approach demonstrate the complexity of reactions that encompass emotional, cognitive, and social dimensions with high levels of participation. Changes in students' environmental awareness are manifested in multidimensional transformations that include the development of systemic understanding of ecosystems, the strengthening of emotional connections with nature, the evolution of moral orientation from anthropocentric to ecocentric perspectives, and the formation of strong environmental identity. This research recommends the development of literary learning models that integrate ecocritical approaches as an effective strategy to support sustainable environmental education and the formation of an environmentally conscious character from an early age. The study contributes to the advancement of pedagogical frameworks that bridge literary education with environmental consciousness, offering practical implications for curriculum development and instructional design in secondary education contexts.

Abstract

This study investigated the potential association between moot court participation and legal English proficiency among law students in a non-native English-speaking context, specifically at Hanoi Law University (HLU) in Vietnam. Employing a mixed-methods design, quantitative surveys were administered to 60 international trade law students who had participated in moot court activities, while semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with 15-20 of these participants to explore their experiences, perceptions, and motivations. Findings suggest an association between moot court involvement and perceived improvements in legal English skills, with participants reporting enhanced confidence in legal communication (mean score 4.00 on a 5-point scale) and a statistically significant difference in proficiency scores across participation levels (ANOVA: F(2,57)=50.68, p<.001). However, results rely on self-reported data and correlational analyses, limiting causal inferences, and findings may not generalize beyond HLU. The study recommends targeted integration of moot court into legal English curricula, provision of support resources, and further research with objective measures to enhance skill development.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), especially LLMs like ChatGPT has changed students' school habits. It also highlights risks, such as copying and privacy concerns, that those who create rules must address. This research examines how students perceive the benefits and drawbacks of ChatGPT, as well as their frequency of use for school writing in Indonesia. We conducted a survey of 272 students from two government colleges, specifically targeting them. We changed some ideas from studies by Balraj (2025), Meyer et al (2024), Črček & Patekar (2023), and OECD (2023). We analyzed the data using basic statistics, the Pearson correlation test, and multiple linear regression. The results show that students use ChatGPT extensively for writing papers, creating summaries, understanding complex ideas, and correcting their grammar. They thought the good things were good (M = 4.08), mainly because they made them faster and helped them write better. However, they also worried about issues such as AI causing copying, being overly reliant on it, incorrect information, and privacy concerns (M = 3.81). Regression analysis revealed that exposure to the positive aspects of ChatGPT was associated with increased usage (β = 0.39, p < 0.001). These results underscore the need for clear rules to ensure the integrity of schoolwork and protect privacy with AI, prompting educators and policymakers to take a proactive role in shaping ethical guidelines.
