Abstract

The development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum plays a strategic role in addressing the challenges of the digital era, character crises, and the increasingly complex currents of globalization. The PAI curriculum functions not only as a guide for religious learning but also as an instrument for shaping students who are faithful, virtuous, and capable of adapting to modern socio-cultural dynamics. This study employs a literature review method, analyzing various theories, policies, and previous research relevant to the development of the PAI curriculum at the secondary school level. The findings indicate that an ideal PAI curriculum should be grounded in Islamic philosophical values, take into account students’ psychological aspects, and consider the social context of the community. Moreover, it must integrate 21st-century competencies with Islamic moral values to achieve balance across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The main challenges in implementing the PAI curriculum include teacher preparedness, limited educational resources, and the paradigm shift toward learner-centered and character-based approaches. Therefore, continuous teacher training, the development of contextual digital learning materials, and authentic assessment systems are essential. These efforts are expected to create a PAI curriculum that is relevant, innovative, and effective in shaping Muslim students with strong character and global competitiveness.

Abstract

Tahsin Program with the Usmani Method of Al-Ikhlas Mosque Sambilegi-Lor Maguwoharjo Depok Sleman Yogyakarta, Reading the Qur'an correctly as revealed is the obligation of every Muslim and Muslim woman, but the ability of the majority of Muslims is still concerning, this can be seen from the low level of public engagement with the Qur'an and many factors that cause this situation, including teaching methods that are less manhaji, inadequate teachers or less aware individuals weakness in the Tajwidul Qur'an so that we are not interested in teaching, whatever the obvious reason we still believe in the wisdom of Allah "And indeed We have made the Qur'an easy to learn." Therefore, many methods of learning the Qur'an have emerged to answer the challenges faced by Muslims, especially in the ability to read the Qur'an. Therefore, the publication of the Ottoman Method seems to continue the dream of previous scholars to improve the quality of reading the Qur'an, because the Ottoman Method is believed to improve the ability to read the Qur'an properly and correctly. This study aims to: (1) How to Implement the Tahsin Program with the Usmani Method of the Al-Ikhlas Sambilegi-Lor Mosque of Maguwoharjo Depok Sleman Yogyakarta (2) What are the obstacles to the implementation of the Tahsin Program with the Usmani method of the Al-Ikhlas Sambilegi-Lor Mosque of Maguwoharjo Depok Sleman Yogyakarta. (3) What is the contribution of the implementation of the tahsin program with the Usmani method of the Al-Ikhlas Sambilegi-Lor Mosque Maguwoharjo Depok Sleman Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative research with a case study method. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observations and documentation. The data analysis used is a model owned by Miles and Huberman which consists of three analysis components, in the form of: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. The results of this study are: (1) Implementation of the Tahsin Program with the Usmani Method of the Al-Ikhlas Mosque Sambilegi-Lor Maguwoharjo Depok Sleman Yogyakarta using the talaqi technique (2) Obstacles to the Implementation of the Tahsin Program with the Usmani Method of the Al-Ikhlas Mosque Sambilegi-Lor Maguwoharjo Depok Sleman Yogyakarta: Difficulties in reading hijaiyah letters with the correct Makharij al-ḥuruf because they are carried away by the readings brought as children, Insufficient time makes learning ineffective,  and the age factor because many of the worshippers of the Al-Ikhlas mosque are elderly. (3) What is the contribution of the implementation of the tahsin program with the Usmani method of the Al-Ikhlas Sambilegi-Lor Mosque Maguwoharjo Depok Sleman Yogyakarta; The congregation can read the verses in the Qur'an with a clearer sound of his Makharij al-ḥuruf. It can help the congregation learn the Qur'an, as well as being able to teach it to people who need it as early as possible.

Abstract

The transformation of education in the digital era requires the adaptation of PAI to remain relevant and effective in achieving its learning goals. This study focuses on three main aspects: (1) identifying the most relevant and effective forms of PAI learning method innovation applied at various levels of education (2) analyzing the challenges faced in the implementation of these innovations, including teacher readiness, availability of digital infrastructure, and relevance of content; and (3) formulate the right strategy to develop the professional competence of PAI teachers in mastering and implementing innovative methods based on digital technology. This research aims to analyze and map the innovation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning methods in the digital era through a systematic literature study approach. The method used is literature review by analyzing a number of articles, books, and related scientific documents published in the last ten years. The results of the study show that the most prominent PAI method innovations include the use of blended learning technology, flipped classroom, mobile learning, and the integration of digital learning resources (e.g., interactive videos, game-based learning applications) to increase students' motivation and understanding of Islamic values. The main challenges identified are the digital divide between urban and rural schools, the lack of ongoing training for teachers, and the need to develop a curriculum that is adaptive to technological developments. As a solution, this study recommends a practice-oriented sustainable professional development strategy, strengthening collaboration between teachers, and equitable digital infrastructure procurement policies. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the innovation of PAI learning methods in the digital era requires synergy between the readiness of human resources (teachers) and the availability of infrastructure and strong policy support.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a significant role in shaping students’ character and moral values. To achieve these goals, selecting appropriate teaching methods is essential for enhancing the effectiveness of the learning process. This study is categorized as library research, conducted by reviewing various reference books and scholarly journals related to the topic. The aim of this research is to identify commonly used PAI teaching methods and analyze their strengths and weaknesses. The methods discussed include lecturing, discussion, question-and-answer, demonstration, and project-based learning. Each method has distinct characteristics that influence learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Based on the review, no single method is entirely perfect; each has advantages that can be optimized and limitations that educators must consider. Therefore, PAI teachers should be able to choose and combine various methods flexibly according to the context, learning material, and student characteristics. This study is expected to serve as a reference for educators in designing more effective and engaging PAI learning strategies.

Abstract

This paper examines the process of character formation in students through the implementation of appropriate learning models within Islamic Education. The study is motivated by the increasing complexity of national character issues that emerge across various sectors, including educational environments, socio-religious settings, and governmental institutions. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, analyzing relevant literature on Problem Based Learning (PBL) and character development in Islamic Education through descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that educational institutions must provide strategic solutions to address character-related problems among students. One recommended approach is Problem Based Learning (PBL). PBL has been shown to enhance students’ understanding of Islamic Education values while fostering positive character traits such as religiosity, responsibility, hard work, independence, democracy, tolerance, environmental awareness, socio-religious care, and patriotism. Through the use of real-life problem-solving activities, PBL encourages students to internalize moral and spiritual values more contextually and deeply, leading to more effective and sustainable character formation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the Mabit program can shape Islamic identity among students at SDIT Raudhah who are in the pre-adolescent age group. The research method used is qualitative. The results indicate that the Mabit program implemented at SDIT Raudhah has a positive impact on forming students’ Islamic identity, such as enhancing spiritual, moral, social awareness, and responsibility. Students at SDIT Raudhah who participated in the Mabit program showed positive behavioral changes and a better understanding of Islamic values. This study also provides recommendations to improve the quality of the Mabit program at SDIT Raudhah and other educational institutions.

Abstract

Contemporary education faces significant challenges amid digital transformation and the demand for 21st-century skills. Traditional instructional models, still prevalent in many schools, are increasingly seen as inadequate in fostering adaptive, collaborative, and reflective learners. This study aims to analyze the relevance and implementation of David A. Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) in the Indonesian educational context. Using a descriptive qualitative method through library research, the study reviewed scientific sources published within the last five years (2021–2025). The findings indicate that ELT is highly relevant in promoting active, reflective, and contextual learning that places learners at the center. The implementation of ELT has shown significant impacts on improving learning motivation, critical thinking, and students' social competencies. However, challenges remain, including limited teacher understanding, inadequate facilities, and the dominance of conventional instructional culture. The study recommends strategic measures such as teacher capacity building, curriculum revitalization, cross-sector collaboration, and evaluation reform to support the widespread and sustainable adoption of experiential learning in Indonesia.

Abstract

Founded in 1912 by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, Muhammadiyah is one of the world's largest modernist Islamic organizations. Its enduring and massive influence for over a century is rooted in the synergy of three identity pillars: Islam, Da'wah, and Tajdid. This article analyzes how the integration of these pillars shapes Muhammadiyah's ideology and strategy, arguing that its strength lies in the dynamic dialectic among the three, rather than in any single one. As an Islamic movement, Muhammadiyah emphasizes the purification of creed (aqidah) through the slogan "returning to the Qur'an and Sunnah," while rejecting superstition, heretical innovations, and myths. As a Da'wah movement, it pioneers the da'wah bil-hal approach (preaching through deeds), materialized by establishing thousands of educational, health, and social institutions as a manifestation of its "Theology of Al-Ma'un." As a Tajdid (renewal) movement, Muhammadiyah consistently integrates two dimensions: purification in the realm of ritual worship (ibadah mahdhah) and dynamization-modernization in worldly affairs (muamalah dunyawiyah). This synergy of the three pillars is what forges Muhammadiyah's identity as a movement of "Progressive Islam," making it perpetually relevant, adaptive, and a significant contributor to Indonesian society and the world.

Abstract

Perilaku seseorang dalam bermasyarakat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai hal, salah satunya tingkat pendidikan dan penguasaan ilmu yang dimiliki. Pendidikan yang dapat melatih dan mendidik seseorang dalam bersikap sosial yang baik adalah Pendidikan Agama Islam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan dan menjelaskan pengaruh Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) terhadap sikap sosial peserta didik di masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Sumber data penelitian ini diperoleh dari Google Scholar dengan kategori artikel ilmiah, buku maupun jurnal yang berkaitan dengan pengaruh Pendidikan Agama Islam terhadap pembentukan sikap sosial peserta didik di masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki peran yang sangat signifikan dalam membentuk karakter peserta didik, memperkuat nilai-nilai Islam peserta didik dalam penerapan sehari-hari. Namun, hasil ini memerlukan dukungan dari guru, orang tua, individu itu sendiri serta lingkungan sekolah dan keluarga. Dengan demikian, pembentukan sikap sosial positif peserta didik dapat berjalan lancar dan memberikan hasil yang positif.

Abstract

Teori perkembangan sosial-emosi Erikson menyediakan kerangkan dalam memahami perkembangan seseorang dan konflik psikososial yang dihadapi pada setiap tahapannya. Teori ini memiliki dampak yang positif bagi peserta didik ketika dapat diterapkan secara efektif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan baru dalam mengembangkan kurikulum yang juga mendukung perkembangan sosial dan emosi peserta didik secara keseluruhan. Metode yang digunakan berupa pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data studi kepustakaan. Sumber data yang digunakan berupa: Artikel ilmiah, jurnal, E-book, skripsi dan tesis. Kemudian analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik desktiptif untuk dapat menggambarkan secara jelas fenomena yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori perkembangan sosial-emosi Erikson dapat membantu peserta didik dalam perkembangan psikososialnya. Teori ini juga dapat membantu peserta didik dalam mencari identitas, minat serta bakat sebagai bekal untuk masa depan. Namun penerapannya belum sepenuhnya efektif karena beberapa faktor seperti kurangnya pemahaman guru terhadap teori ini. Kurangnya pelatihan formal bagi guru untuk menerapkan teori ini dalam pembelajaran dan pengetahuan tentang hubungan perkembangan sosial-emosi peserta didik dengan pembelajaran.
