Abstract

Career adaptability is a key psychosocial resource for students navigating educational and occupational transitions. This study examined the relationship between school counselors’ social support and career adaptability, and the mediating role of career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE), with gender as a moderator. A quantitative correlational design involved 330 Grade XII students from public senior high schools in Semarang, Indonesia. Data were collected using validated Likert-type scales measuring school counselors’ social support, CDMSE, and career adaptability. Analysis used PROCESS Macro Model 5 with bootstrapping. Result showed that school counselors’ social support significantly predicted both CDMSE and career adaptability. CDMSE was positively associated with career adaptability and significantly mediated the relationship between social support and career adaptability. However, gender did not moderate the direct effect of social support on career adaptability. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening students’ confidence in career decision-making through sustained counselor support to promote long-term career adaptability.

The sampling method employed was proportional random sampling, with a total of 137 respondents participating in the study. The measurement tools utilized encompass scales to assess life's meaning, gratitude, and family support. The analytical approach used is multiple regression, with the assistance of SPSS 26.0 for Windows software. Research findings indicate a positive and significant relationship between gratitude and family support with the level of life's meaning among students completing their thesis in the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies, Raden Intan Lampung State Islamic University. Therefore, the higher the level of gratitude and family support, the higher the perceived level of life's meaning for students completing their thesis.

Abstract

Abstract. Amidst growing cultural diversity in Indonesian schools, this study investigates interpersonal conflict among students in multicultural secondary schools and explores how the local value Songu Lara Mombangu informs school-based conflict mediation. Using a qualitative multiple-case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in three culturally diverse schools in Central Sulawesi. Findings reveal that conflict often arises not from ethnic identity, but from miscommunication, divergent social norms, and peer dynamics. Although students’ awareness of Songu Lara Mombangu is limited, its values are reflected in daily practices of cooperation and relational repair. The study underscores the importance of culturally responsive counseling grounded in local wisdom. It contributes to expanding theories of social identity and intersectionality by offering a contextualized lens for conflict resolution. These insights support the development of inclusive educational policies and training programs that align with students’ cultural realities.

Abstract

Learning anxiety is a common psychological issue among vocational high school students that affects concentration, self-confidence, and academic performance. This study aims to describe the implementation of Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) in addressing students’ learning anxiety in a vocational high school setting. A qualitative research approach was employed using in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving students experiencing learning anxiety and school counselors. The results indicate that SFBC enables students to recognize their personal strengths, set achievable learning goals, and develop practical solutions to overcome learning difficulties. Following the counseling sessions, students demonstrated reduced learning anxiety, increased self-confidence, and more positive learning behaviors. These findings suggest that SFBC is an effective and applicable counseling approach for managing learning anxiety and supporting students’ academic and emotional development in vocational schools.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of school resilience and social support on students’ academic resilience in Islamic full-day junior high schools. Academic resilience is increasingly important in intensive learning environments where students face prolonged academic and spiritual demands. It was hypothesized that school resilience and social support would significantly predict academic resilience, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative correlational survey was conducted with 269 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed using hierarchical regression. The results showed that school resilience significantly predicted academic resilience, particularly through teacher support and school safety. Social support also contributed significantly, although only family support showed a direct effect. Simultaneously, both predictors explained a meaningful proportion of variance in academic resilience. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening supportive school systems and family involvement to enhance students’ academic resilience.
