Abstract

Abstract

The increasing proportion of older adults in Indonesia highlights the importance of maintaining health and quality of life in later years. One of the key determinants of longevity is the adoption of healthy behaviors in daily life. Healthy behavior includes regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, and adherence to clean and healthy lifestyle practices. This study aims to analyze the relationship between healthy behavior and longevity among older adults in Betiting Village, Gresik Regency. This observational analytic study employed a cross-sectional design. A total of 74 older adults were selected through stratified random sampling. Healthy behavior was assessed using the Lifestyle Medicine Health Behavior Scale (LMHB), while longevity was measured based on the respondents’ chronological age. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation test. The results showed a significant positive relationship between healthy behavior and longevity (r = 0.498; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that older adults who engage in healthier behaviors tend to achieve longer lifespans than those with poorer health habits. This study underscores the importance of promoting healthy behavior as a major determinant of longevity in older populations. Support from families and communities is essential to encourage older adults to maintain healthy routines and achieve a better quality of life.

Abstract

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a crucial indicator of service quality within Indonesia's National Health Insurance system. For inpatients in the BPJS Kesehatan Class 3 category, a vulnerable population segment, the timeliness of doctor's rounds is a significant factor influencing their experience; thus, this article aims to critically analyze its effect. Employing a narrative literature review methodology, empirical evidence from relevant studies was synthesized and critically analyzed to construct a comprehensive conceptual model. The analysis reveals a positive and statistically significant relationship between the timeliness of doctor's rounds and patient satisfaction. Furthermore, timeliness functions as a "gateway variable," a prerequisite for effective interpersonal communication, and as an "equity signal" for BPJS Class 3 patients, for whom delays risk being interpreted as undignified treatment that can erode trust. In conclusion, improving the timeliness of doctor's rounds is not merely an operational efficiency enhancement but a fundamental strategic intervention. It is essential for improving interpersonal interactions, upholding the principle of fair and dignified treatment, and strengthening patient trust in the JKN program.

Abstract

Hypertension in end-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing HD is difficult to control. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between the number of antihypertensive medications taken and the use of dialyzed antihypertensive medications on uncontrolled blood pressure in CKD patients on hemodialysis. Consecutive sampling was employed in a retrospective cohort study. Data collection for the study took place in July 2023 at Temanggung Regional Hospital. The inclusion criteria in this study were CKD patients who undergoing routine hemodialysis twice a week, aged ≥ 18 years, and without or with comorbidities. Medical records and interviews with research participants were used to gather data. Forty-eight patients with clinical outcomes of uncontrolled predialysis blood pressure and four patients with regulated predialysis blood pressure made up the 52 research subjects. The number of antihypertensive drugs used is significantly associated with uncontrolled predialysis blood pressure in CKD patients with hemodialysis using antihypertensives (p-value 0,033). The use of dialyzed antihypertensive drugs is not associated with uncontrolled predialysis blood pressure in CKD patients on hemodialysis using antihypertensives (p-value 0,115).
