Abstract

This study aims to identify the students' needs regarding Arabic language learning media, design and develop the media, and assess the effectiveness of the Arabic Quartet Card Game in enhancing Arabic vocabulary among fifth-grade students at Dunia Anak Islam School in Palopo. The study uses the 4D model, which includes the following stages: 1) Define, 2) Design, 3) Develop, and 4) Disseminate. The research was conducted at an elementary school with 9 fifth-grade students as subjects. Data was collected through questionnaires validated by experts in media, content, teachers, and student responses, and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The developed product is a Quartet Card media for Arabic language teaching material at elementary schools. Validation results were as follows: media expert validation (91%), content expert validation (90%), teacher validation (95%), and student responses (94%), all categorized as "highly valid." The effectiveness test showed a significant improvement in students' vocabulary, with a post-test score of 95 and a pre-test score of 70 (t-hitung = 6.862 > t-table = 1.895), indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The Arabic Quartet Card media was proven to be effective and suitable for use in teaching Arabic in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) in the implementation of the Nadwah Usbu'iyyah program at HMPS PBA, as well as formulate strategies to increase its effectiveness. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study involved Nadwah Usbu'iyyah participants and HMPS PBA administrators as subjects, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the SWOT analysis show that this program has the power to improve students' Arabic language skills and provide a useful learning experience. However, there are weaknesses related to flexibility, evaluation, and variety of learning methods. The opportunities that exist include the use of technology, curriculum integration, and competency development. The program also faces threats such as shifting student interest to independent learning and competition with similar programs. This study recommends improvement strategies that focus on flexibility, periodic evaluation, method innovation, and adaptation to digital learning trends.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis keterampilan berbicara sebagai komponen utama dalam literasi lisan yang ditekankan dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Literasi lisan, khususnya keterampilan berbicara, memiliki peran strategis dalam membangun kompetensi komunikasi, berpikir kritis, serta penguatan karakter peserta didik melalui ekspresi verbal yang terstruktur dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, yang berfokus pada pemetaan indikator keterampilan berbicara serta implementasinya dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap guru dan siswa yang terlibat dalam penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara dalam Kurikulum Merdeka tidak hanya diposisikan sebagai tujuan pembelajaran, tetapi juga sebagai sarana pembentukan literasi kritis, kolaboratif, dan reflektif. Peserta siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kejelasan artikulasi, keberanian berbicara, serta relevansi isi tuturan ketika pembelajaran mengintegrasikan aktivitas lisan berbasis proyek atau diskusi. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan literasi lisan sangat ditentukan oleh rencana pembelajaran yang mendorong partisipasi aktif dan otentik siswa. Implikasi praktis dari temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya pelatihan guru dalam pengembangan strategi pembelajaran berbasis lisan, sedangkan makna sosialnya menyentuh pentingnya keterampilan berbicara dalam memperkuat budaya dialogis di lingkungan sekolah

Abstract

Kepercayaan diri merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberhasilan belajar siswa, terutama dalam hal partisipasi aktif di kelas. Keterampilan berbicara berperan sebagai sarana utama bagi siswa untuk mengekspresikan ide, menjalin interaksi sosial, dan membangun rasa percaya diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana keterampilan berbicara dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam konteks pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi aktivitas siswa di kelas, wawancara dengan guru, serta dokumentasi kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang aktif berbicara cenderung memiliki kepercayaan diri yang lebih tinggi, terutama jika didukung oleh strategi pembelajaran yang melibatkan peran serta aktif siswa, seperti diskusi kelompok, presentasi, dan permainan peran. Oleh karena itu, keterampilan berbicara tidak hanya penting sebagai kompetensi bahasa, tetapi juga sebagai fondasi pembentukan karakter percaya diri pada siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan berbicara merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan komunikasi siswa sekolah dasar. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang efektif dan komunikatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki peran sentral sebagai fasilitator, motivator, dan model dalam pembelajaran berbicara. Guru tidak hanya memberikan materi, tetapi juga menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung keberanian siswa untuk berbicara, serta memberikan umpan balik konstruktif untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan keterampilan siswa.

Abstract

This study discusses how the application of word wall educational games to improve the mastery of Arabic vocabulary of class VIII students at the palopo city state tsanawiyyah madrasah. This research used pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. Data collection was done through observation, test, and documentation. The research instruments were tested using validity and reliability tests to ensure the feasibility of the data. Data were analyzed using normality test, Wilcoxon test, and N-Gain test. The results showed a significant increase in students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary after the application of Word Wall. The mean score increased from 46 in the pre-test to 61.33 in the post-test. Wilcoxon test resulted in Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.003 <0.05, which indicates a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. Based on the N-Gain test, the effectiveness of the Word Wall application was in the medium category with a score of 0.35 (35.46%). The application of Word Wall proved to be effective as a fun and innovative learning alternative to improve students' vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Language, based on semantics, is a system of signs or symbols used to convey meaning. In semantic studies, language is understood not only as a means of communication but also as a medium for conveying meaning that is influenced by the situation, culture, and knowledge of the user and listener. A sentence has different meanings, depending on the response or response through interaction in the Instagram comment column. This study aims to examine the forms of meaning change and identify the factors that cause meaning change in the Instagram comment column presents unique language dynamics, including shifts in the meaning that occur due to the context of use, language style, and the socio cultural background of the speaker. That analysis was carried out by classifying the data based on the type of meaning change, such as expansion, narrowing, amelioration, pejoration, and associative changes. The results of the study indicate that changes in meaning in comments are influenced by various factors, including situational context, language creativity, the use of figurative language, and the influence of popular culture. These findings indicate that social media is not only a means of expression but also a space for dynamic language evolution. The implications of this research are expected to be used as teaching materials or teaching guides in news text learning material in class XI in high school.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of abbreviations and acronyms in social media interactions and their implications for the development of the Indonesian language in the digital era. Employing a qualitative approach, this research applies content analysis to a selection of online news articles that reflect linguistic practices across various social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, X, and WhatsApp. The findings reveal a wide range of language shortening forms, encompassing common abbreviations, borrowed acronyms, and creative shortenings that emerge within digital communities. These forms of linguistic compression function as tools for communication efficiency, markers of group identity, and enhancers of informational authenticity in media presentations. Mass media plays a significant role in expanding and normalizing the use of digital terms, leading to their broader acceptance within society. However, the extensive use of language shortenings may also affect formal language proficiency and contribute to digital literacy gaps among certain social groups. Therefore, language shortening can be understood as a form of linguistic adaptation to the demands of rapid communication, globalization, and the evolving dynamics of digital culture. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening digital language literacy to ensure that language use remains appropriate to specific communication contexts.

Abstract

This research is the development stage of a digital storytelling learning media based on local culture in Pemalang for innovation in learning to write short story texts in Indonesian lessons. In the research, the methods used are ADD, Analyze, Design and Development. The data obtained in this study was obtained through observation by providing questionnaires to students in grade XI (eleven) at SMA Negeri 1 Petarukan, SMK Al-Khoiriyah Petarukan and SMK Negeri 1 Petarukan. At the observation stage, it was found that the three schools were still using past learning methods such as lectures and the use of media that was limited to power point (PPT). Therefore, the researcher seeks to update the learning media so that students are motivated in learning activities. The results obtained in obtaining expert validation for digital storytelling learning media based on local culture in Pemalang obtained the following results, very feasible, namely (88%) in the media aspect, very feasible namely (94%) in the language aspect and feasible namely (77.5%) in the material aspect, with these results the digital storytelling learning media based on local culture in Pemalang is expected to be able to increase the learning motivation of students, especially in learning to write short story texts.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the nasal prefix /ŋ-/ (ng-) in Indonesian as used on social media reflects a morphological productivity that marks the language’s evolution in the digital era. This study aims to describe the forms, variations, and functions of the nasal prefix /ŋ-/ in Indonesian social media discourse and to analyze its morphological processes through the framework of generative morphology. Employing a qualitative, descriptive-analytic approach, data were collected from Twitter (X), Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook using digital documentation and purposive sampling techniques. The data were analyzed by identifying affixation and morphophonemic processes involving the nasal prefix /ŋ-/, both as an allomorph of meN- and as a creative linguistic innovation typical of social media. The results reveal that the nasal prefix /ŋ-/ functions as a productive derivational morpheme forming new verbs such as ngopi, ngonten, ngereview, and ngedit. The formation process follows generative morphological principles through derivation and phonological realization mechanisms (spell-out). Moreover, the prefix carries pragmatic value as a marker of informal register and social intimacy among speakers. This study concludes that social media serves as a crucial domain for the development of Indonesian morphology, where the nasal prefix /ŋ-/ represents linguistic creativity and evidence of an adaptive linguistic system in response to digital communication culture. Fenomena penggunaan prefiks nasal /ŋ-/ (ng-) dalam bahasa Indonesia pada media sosial menunjukkan adanya dinamika produktivitas morfologis yang menandai evolusi bahasa di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk, variasi, dan fungsi prefiks nasal /ŋ-/ dalam bahasa Indonesia pada media sosial, serta menganalisis proses morfologisnya berdasarkan teori morfologi generatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis. Data diperoleh dari platform Twitter (X), Instagram, TikTok, dan Facebook melalui teknik dokumentasi digital dan purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi proses afiksasi dan morfofonemis yang melibatkan prefiks nasal /ŋ-/ baik sebagai alomorf meN- maupun sebagai bentuk kreatif khas media sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prefiks nasal /ŋ-/ telah berfungsi sebagai morfem derivatif produktif dalam membentuk verba baru, seperti ngopi, ngonten, ngereview, dan ngedit. Proses pembentukan tersebut mengikuti kaidah morfologi generatif melalui mekanisme derivasi dan realisasi fonologis (spell-out). Selain itu, prefiks nasal /ŋ-/ juga mengandung nilai pragmatis sebagai penanda register informal dan kedekatan sosial antarpenutur. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa media sosial menjadi arena penting dalam perkembangan morfologi bahasa Indonesia, di mana prefiks nasal /ŋ-/ merepresentasikan kreativitas linguistik sekaligus bukti evolusi sistem bahasa yang adaptif terhadap perubahan budaya komunikasi digital.
