Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the marketing mix strategy (4Ps) by Muji Trekker, a community-based hiking tour service provider in Sembalun area, West Nusa Tenggara. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews and field observations. The findings show that Muji Trekker implements a product strategy through the provision of various climbing packages (Deluxe, Standard, and Budget) based on market research and consumer economic conditions. The pricing strategy is applied with a segmentation approach, where rates for foreign tourists are adjusted to higher operational costs. In promotion, Muji Trekker emphasises organic and relational methods such as social media, word of mouth, and customer testimonials over paid advertising. Meanwhile, the people aspect is a key element in the success of the service; guides not only act as technical facilitators, but also as friends and representations of local values that create an immersive experience for tourists. This study also shows that the 4P strategy is adaptive and contextualised, with limited resources encouraging innovation and creativity. Strategically, this relationship-based approach can be used as an alternative model for community tourism development in non-urban areas. The academic implications of this research enrich the tourism service marketing literature with empirical evidence from unexplored local areas, and encourage digital training policies and human resource capacity building in the experiential tourism sector.

Abstract

This study analyses the influence of tour guides' communication competence on German tourists' satisfaction at Asian Trails Indonesia. Communication competence is divided into two dimensions: verbal and non-verbal. The research was conducted at PT. Asian Trails Indonesia office in Denpasar, Bali, with data collection from January to May 2025. The research used a quantitative approach with a saturated sampling technique of 120 German tourists. Data was collected through questionnaires with a Likert scale of 1-5. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results showed that: (1) Verbal communication competence has a positive and significant effect on German tourists' satisfaction with a t-value of 9.061 and significance of 0.000; (2) Non-verbal communication competence has a positive and significant effect on German tourists' satisfaction with a t-value of 4.281 and significance of 0.000. The coefficient of determination value (adjusted R²) of 0.705 indicates that 70.5% of the variation in tourist satisfaction can be explained by the tour guides' verbal and non-verbal communication competence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work environment and workload on employee performance in service delivery at PT Mandala Tours & Travel in Makassar. Specifically, the objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze the influence of the work environment on employee performance in service delivery; (2) to analyze the influence of workload on employee performance in service delivery; and (3) to analyze the simultaneous influence of work environment and workload on employee performance in service delivery.. The research employed a quantitative approach, involving two independent variables: work environment (X?) and workload (X?), and one dependent variable: employee performance (Y). The data were collected using a questionnaire instrument based on a Likert scale. The population of this study comprised all employees of PT Mandala Tours & Travel, totaling 12 individuals, all of whom were also used as the research sample through a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The findings indicate that the work environment has a partially positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance. In contrast, workload does not have a significant partial effect on employee performance. However, when tested simultaneously, the work environment and workload collectively exert a significant influence on employee performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the company continuously improve the quality of the work environment and manage workloads effectively to enhance the overall quality of service performance.

Abstract

The digital era has transformed tourism; however, travel agents in Bali face challenges in technology adoption due to its misalignment with their specific work requirements. This study investigates the relationship between task characteristics, task-technology fit, and user experience in relation to travel agent services in Bali. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method of 68 travel agent employees, this study analyzed data using PLS-SEM. The study's results demonstrate that task characteristics have a positive and significant impact on user experience and task-technology fit. Task-technology fit also has a positive and significant impact on user experience, acting as a complementary mediator in the relationship between task characteristics and user experience. These findings provide practical implications for the management of travel agents in Bali to optimize the implementation of technology that is in line with the characteristics of employee duties, thereby improving operational efficiency and service quality in the face of the dynamics of the tourism industry.

Abstract

The Jakarta Maritime Museum is an educational tourism destination based on maritime history that plays an important role in preserving Indonesia’s maritime values. However, suboptimal facility conditions may affect tourists’ intention to revisit the museum. This study aimed to analyze and measure the effect of facilities on tourists’ revisit intention at the Jakarta Maritime Museum. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed using a survey method. The research population consisted of tourists who had previously visited the Jakarta Maritime Museum, with a sample of 100 respondents determined using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and questionnaire distribution. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, simple linear regression, and hypothesis testing (t-test) with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results indicated that facilities had a significant effect on tourists’ revisit intention at the Jakarta Maritime Museum. The coefficient of determination value of 0.850 showed that facilities accounted for 85% of the variation in revisit intention, while the remaining percentage was influenced by other factors outside this study. Therefore, it was concluded that improving the quality and adequacy of facilities is a crucial factor in encouraging tourists to revisit the Jakarta Maritime Museum. Abstract

This study aims to examine how limited system access impacts employee work efficiency in the Customer Experience Department of Discova travel agency. Along with the increasing demand for fast and precise customer service, limited access to systems TourPlan and other supporting platforms is a significant obstacle in daily operations. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, field observations, literature studies, and documentation. The results showed that technical constraints such as log in limitations, non-user-friendly systems, and slow system performance, directly reduce productivity and customer service quality. In addition, non-technical factors such as team communication and work culture also affect overall efficiency. As a solution, optimization of the system infrastructure is required, including increased log in capacity, system integration, and periodic training for employees. This research provides strategic recommendations to improve work efficiency through technical improvements and human resource competency development in order to support superior service quality in the travel agency industry.

Abstract

Klungkung Regency possesses intangible cultural heritage (Kamasan classical painting, Besan palm sugar, and Kusamba salt) that is currently threatened by a regeneration crisis. This study aims to analyze the underlying factors causing the disruption of intergenerational cultural transmission and to design a tourism model as a preservation solution. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with maestro artisans and representatives of the Tourism Agency. These data were subsequently validated through field observations and triangulation. The findings indicate that the regeneration crisis is triggered by three primary factors: the economic pragmatism of youth who prefer the formal sector, physical barriers combined with the technical rigidity of the crafts, and the "tourism paradox," wherein passive tourist visits have not yet provided a direct economic impact for the artisans. As a preservation solution, this study proposes the "Klungkung Heritage Trail" model, which is based on experiential tourism. This model integrates the three cultural sites, repositions artisans as educators, and creates a "digital intergenerational bridge" that actively involves the youth. The successful implementation of this model requires the improvement of basic infrastructure and the standardization of tour prices by the regional government.
