Makapande: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat merupakan media publikasi ilmiah yang memuat hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh akademisi, peneliti, praktisi, maupun mahasiswa. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menjadi wadah diseminasi dan pertukaran informasi terkait penerapan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat, pengembangan potensi lokal, peningkatan kesejahteraan, serta penyelesaian masalah sosial. Ruang lingkup publikasi meliputi, tetapi tidak terbatas pada: Pemberdayaan masyarakat desa dan urban. Pengembangan usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM). Pendidikan dan literasi masyarakat. Kesehatan dan lingkungan. Teknologi tepat guna. Kearifan lokal dan kebudayaan. Jurnal ini diterbitkan secara berkala empat kali dalam setahun (Maret, Juni, September dan Desember) oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the basic English literacy skills of sixth-grade students at SDN 1 Salumbia through a structured tutoring program. Problems faced by partners include limited mastery of English vocabulary, students' lack of courage in speaking, and limited allocation and intensity of English learning at school. The community service activity was carried out in five learning meetings and one final evaluation. The materials provided included Self-Introduction, Animals, Fruits, and Parts of the Body. The learning methods applied were vocabulary repetition (drilling), writing exercises in books, and evaluation through oral and written tests. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' ability in remember vocabulary, pronounce words correctly, and understand the meaning of words in simple contexts. Based on the final evaluation results, the percentage of student learning achievement was 17.65% in the outstanding category, 41.18% in the good category, 29.41% in the sufficient category, and 11.76% in the poor category. Thus, the English tutoring program implemented is efficacious in improving elementary school students' basic English skills and can serve as an alternative to support learning in elementary school environments.

Abstract

Students' ability to maintain focus on learning is a crucial factor in the success of the elementary school learning process. This community service program aims to improve student learning focus through mentoring and classroom observation activities at Luok Manipi Elementary School. The program is implemented through several stages, including identifying classroom problems, observing the teaching and learning process, mentoring teachers in the use of varied learning methods, and providing engaging learning support media. Findings from the program indicate that low student learning focus is influenced by classroom conditions, the use of conventional teaching methods, and a lack of visual stimulation and interactive learning activities. Through mentoring and classroom evaluation, there has been an increase in student engagement, attention during learning, and the ability to understand the material. This community service program recommends the development of interactive learning media and ongoing training for teachers as strategies to optimize student learning focus at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a serious threat to the younger generation, particularly students, because it has negative impacts on their health, psychology, academic achievement, and future; therefore, early prevention efforts in schools are a strategic step to protect students from such influences. This activity aimed to improve students’ understanding, awareness, and skills in rejecting drug abuse. The implementation method used an educational- participatory approach involving students of Pondok Pesantren Al-Ittihad DDI Soni in  grades 10–12. The stages of the activity included interactive lectures, group discussions, role-play simulations, educational games, as well as evaluation and reflection. The results showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge of the types of drugs and their impacts, their courage to resist negative influences, and the growth of empathy and solidarity among peers. These findings demonstrate that the educational-participatory approach is effective in fostering critical awareness, social skills, and anti-drug attitudes among students. Academically, this activity contributes as an empirical model of school- based drug abuse prevention, while practically it can serve as a reference for other schools to develop similar sustainable programs.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas wirausaha muda di Kabupaten Tolitoli dalam menghadapi era digitalisasi ekonomi. Revolusi industri 4.0 membuka peluang baru bagi generasi muda untuk mengembangkan usaha berbasis teknologi, namun masih terdapat kendala seperti rendahnya literasi digital, keterbatasan jaringan internet di wilayah pedesaan, dan minimnya akses pelatihan kewirausahaan. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di Aula Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Kabupaten Tolitoli pada bulan 19 Agustus 2024 dengan melibatkan 35 peserta dari kalangan pelajar, mahasiswa, dan wirausaha muda. Dalam kegiatan ini, Alfansyah Fathur berperan sebagai narasumber utama yang menyampaikan materi tentang strategi wirausaha digital dan peluang pasar global, sedangkan Andhy Saputra dan Mansur S. Pahuede berperan sebagai moderator yang memfasilitasi sesi diskusi dan praktik penggunaan aplikasi teknologi dalam pengembangan usaha. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dalam membuat rencana bisnis berbasis digital, membuka toko daring di marketplace, serta mengelola promosi produk melalui media sosial. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal pembentukan ekosistem wirausaha muda berbasis teknologi di Kabupaten Tolitoli.

Abstract

Generation Z faces significant challenges in preparing themselves to enter an increasingly competitive and dynamic labor market. The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN) of Universitas Madako Tolitoli was implemented with the aim of enhancing career literacy and work readiness among Generation Z through mentoring activities and interview simulations. This program was carried out at Pondok Pesantren Al-Ittihad DDI Soni and involved 50 participants from grades 10, 11, and 12. The methods included career literacy sessions, mentoring to support career planning, and practical interview simulations. The program was designed to equip participants with an understanding of the importance of early career preparation, communication skills, and self-confidence in facing recruitment processes. The results demonstrated an improvement in participants’ understanding of career literacy as well as their practical skills in performing interview simulations. Therefore, this program can serve as a strategic and sustainable step in supporting pesantren students to be better prepared for the labor market while contributing to the improvement of human resource quality.
