Makapande: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat merupakan media publikasi ilmiah yang memuat hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh akademisi, peneliti, praktisi, maupun mahasiswa. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menjadi wadah diseminasi dan pertukaran informasi terkait penerapan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat, pengembangan potensi lokal, peningkatan kesejahteraan, serta penyelesaian masalah sosial. Ruang lingkup publikasi meliputi, tetapi tidak terbatas pada: Pemberdayaan masyarakat desa dan urban. Pengembangan usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM). Pendidikan dan literasi masyarakat. Kesehatan dan lingkungan. Teknologi tepat guna. Kearifan lokal dan kebudayaan. Abstract

Tourism is an important sector that supports the economy in a region. One of the tourist destinations in Simatang Tanjung Village, North Dampal District, is Tampelekan Island. Few people outside know this destination; besides its location in a remote village, there is still a lack of manual and digital publications regarding this tourist attraction. Community Service Program students learned about the existence of Tempelekan Island tourist attraction when they first visited Simatang Tanjung Village. Next, direct observations were conducted on Tempelekan Island to identify its various potentials, including the richness of flora and fauna that are still natural and well-preserved. Based on the results of these observations, students then carried out promotional activities for Tampelekan Island tourism by focusing promotional efforts through social media, especially the Instagram platform. This promotional activity aimed to attract visitors to Tampelekan Island, in Simatang Island

Abstract

The integration of financial education and English learning at the elementary and junior high school levels is a strategic innovation in an effort to improve financial literacy and foreign language competency in students from an early age. This Community Service activity aims to implement and evaluate an integrated learning model through collaboration between students of the Economics Study Program and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) in designing and implementing contextual and applicable teaching and learning activities. The community service implementation method uses a qualitative approach with observation and documentation techniques during the activities at elementary and junior high schools in Anggasan Village. The community service program is implemented through learning mentoring activities, direct classroom practice, and the use of learning media that link basic financial concepts with simple English vocabulary and conversations. The results of the activity show that the integration of financial education and English is able to increase student interest and participation in learning, strengthen the understanding of basic financial concepts relevant to everyday life, and expand English vocabulary mastery. In addition to having a positive impact on students and partner schools, this activity also provides meaningful field practice experiences for students in developing pedagogical, collaborative, and social competencies. Thus, this program contributes to strengthening the quality of learning in schools and increasing the role of universities in supporting human resource development at the village level.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to assist the Mimbala Village government in compiling digital-based village spatial data as a reference for targeted and sustainable infrastructure planning and development. The main problem faced is the unavailability of accurate and standardized regional maps, so the development planning process is often not based on valid data. The activity methods include field surveys and digital map creation using a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based mapping application. The legal basis for implementing this activity refers to Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, Regulation of the Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Number 21 of 2020 concerning General Guidelines for Village Development and Village Community Empowerment, and Regulation of the BIG Number 3 of 2016 concerning Guidelines for Mapping Village Administrative Areas. The result of the activity is a digital map of the Mimbala Village area that includes administrative boundaries, road networks, public facilities, and potential land for development. This map is a strategic tool for the village government to compile spatial data-based development plans, improve decision-making accuracy, and support transparency and accountability in village development management. Thus, this community service strengthens village governance and encourages sustainable development based on digital mapping.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan tujuan utama bagi setiap negara, dan pendidikan itu sendiri sangat krusial untuk mempersiapkan individu menghadapi kehidupan di dunia yang modern. Akan tetapi, hanya mengajar di sekolah tidak memadai untuk menilai mutu pendidikan; individu juga memerlukan arahan dan kegiatan yang terkait dengan kuliah kerja nyata untuk membantu mengatasi masalah yang telah disebutkan sebelumnya. Pembelajaran tambahan untuk anak-anak di tingkat dasar bisa menjadi pilihan untuk aktivitas pengabdian. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian mahasiswa KKN adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang pentingnya pendidikan untuk masa depan anak-anak sekolah, khususnya di Pulau Simatang Desa Simatang Tanjung. Tujuan dari kegiatan bimbingan belajar adalah untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dan meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang pembelajaran di sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskripsi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan bimbingan belajar meningkatkan pemahaman anak-anak, meningkatkan kesadaran mereka tentang apa yang mereka pelajari, membuat mereka lebih aktif berbicara dan bertanya tentang hal-hal yang belum mereka pahami, dan meningkatkan minat anak-anak untuk berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan bimbingan belajar.

Abstract

According to several recent studies, many children are included in the category of addiction to using cellphones, especially the use of social media. Increasingly with the degree of addiction the lightest or the most severe. Community service activities carried out by the service team reported in this study will specifically focus on socializing the dangers of using social media. Social media was chosen because the risks and dangers are greater for children because of the nature of online communities that do not interact directly and anonymously. Abstract

Turtles are ancient animals that play a vital role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems. However, their populations are increasingly threatened by the practice of egg harvesting and catching adult turtles in coastal areas, including North Simatang Village. This community service program aims to increase legal and ecological awareness among the community regarding the importance of turtle protection and to revitalize local wisdom values ​​in conservation. The methods used include field observation, legal outreach, ecological counseling, community-based conservation training, and the formation of Conservation Awareness Groups (KSK). The program was conducted over approximately two weeks, involving approximately 20 households and coastal community groups. The results of the community service program indicate an increase in legal and ecological understanding, a growing collective commitment to reducing turtle exploitation practices, and the emergence of sustainable conservation initiatives integrated into the Village Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMDes). Thus, this program has proven effective in building collective awareness and strengthening the community's role in turtle conservation efforts at the local level.

Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was to conceptualize and develop customized visual-based educational media for elementary school students to improve their understanding of basic concepts. The methodology used was research and development (R&D), which included the phases of needs assessment, design, development, testing, and evaluation. The research subjects specifically focused on lower elementary school students. The findings show that the developed visual media are considered valuable for use, as evidenced by expert evaluations of the content and media, in addition to receiving favorable feedback from educators and students. Furthermore, the application of this media has been shown to significantly improve students' understanding of basic concepts, as reflected in improved academic performance and increased engagement in the learning process. Consequently, visual learning media can be considered a viable innovative approach that effectively supports the educational process in elementary school settings.

Abstract

Information transparency at the village level is crucial in providing transparent, fast, and efficient public services. One of the challenges faced by the people of Simuntu Village is the difficulty in locating the homes of village officials when requiring services outside of office hours. Newcomers to the village experience similar challenges, often resulting in delays in coordination and service processes. This community service initiative aims to describe and implement the creation of identification signs for village officials' homes that only display the official's position, without personal names, as an innovation to improve public information accessibility. The method used was a participatory approach involving the village government and the community, through observation, interviews, and the design, construction, and installation of the signs, along with documentation of the activities. The results of implementing the initiative indicate that the presence of identification signs facilitates community members and newcomers in locating village officials based on their service needs, accelerates coordination, and improves the effectiveness of public services at the village level. Furthermore, the use of position-based signs is considered to strengthen transparency in public information without compromising the privacy and security of village officials. Thus, this initiative contributes positively to supporting more informative, responsive, and public service-oriented village governance.

Abstract

Pemetaan kawasan desa merupakan salah satu langkah penting dalam mendukung perencanaan tata ruang yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Melalui pemetaan, potensi dan permasalahan yang ada di desa dapat diidentifikasi secara detail, mulai dari kondisi fisik wilayah, penggunaan lahan, infrastruktur, hingga aspek sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pemetaan kawasan dalam menunjang penyusunan tata ruang desa yang lebih terarah dan sesuai kebutuhan masyarakat lokal. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur serta analisis deskriptif terhadap praktik pemetaan desa di beberapa wilayah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemetaan kawasan berfungsi sebagai dasar perumusan kebijakan pembangunan, penentuan zonasi pemanfaatan lahan, serta pengembangan infrastruktur yang sesuai dengan karakteristik desa. Dengan demikian, pemetaan kawasan tidak hanya menjadi alat teknis, tetapi juga sarana strategis untuk mewujudkan tata ruang desa yang tertata, partisipatif, dan berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, setiap Pemerintah Desa harus melakukan penataan ruang desa terlebih dahulu sebagai dasar penyusunan Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah (RPJM) Desa, sehingga mengetahui potensi dan rencana pembangunan yang ada di wilayahnya, serta menyadari pentingnya dilakukan penataan ruang desa (Rohiani2021).

Abstract

This community service aims to develop digital learning media as an educational tool to stop bullying among elementary school students. The increasing issue of bullying in the school environment has a negative impact on students' psychological and academic development. This community service uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The subjects of the community service are students in grades I-VI at Sese Elementary School. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and product trials. The results of the community service show that the digital learning media developed, in the form of an animation-based interactive application, is considered very feasible and effective by media and material experts, and received a positive response from students and teachers. This media has succeeded in increasing students' understanding of the types of bullying, its impacts, and how to prevent and report bullying. Thus, this digital learning media can be an innovative alternative in supporting the formation of empathetic and anti-bullying student characters from an early age.
