Abstract

For good teaching, teachers need to understand the various learning strategies available so they can sort out the most suitable strategy for teaching a particular subject in a powerful and easy way. Therefore, a teacher must carefully consider the learning strategy that will be used because it affects students' ability to master the material or achieve optimal learning achievement, one example of a learning strategy that is often used is contextual learning models and experiential learning. Contextual learning and experiential learning are both learning methods that emphasize direct experience in real situations. Contextual learning places subject matter in the context of everyday life, while experiential learning requires students to learn through action and reflection on their experiences. Both of these methods have the potential to increase students' understanding, motivation, and skills in sustainable and relevant learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the results of implementing the PADEDI (Understanding Oneself) snakes and ladders game as an interactive medium in group-based counseling services for seventh-grade students of Khodijah Class. This research is a classroom action study, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the students of Khodijah Class. The findings indicate that the PADEDI snakes and ladders game can be utilized as an interactive learning tool to assist students in understanding themselves. The media consists of cards, a game board, and other components designed to support the concept of self-awareness. In the first cycle, several indicators of feasibility were not achieved, with success rates below 80-90%, the benchmark for the media's feasibility. However, after the implementation in the second cycle, all research indicators met the feasibility criteria, achieving a success rate of 80-90%. Thus, the PADEDI snakes and ladders game is effective for use in group-based classical learning processes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of 9th-grade students in class Umar for the social studies subject, which were notably low, as indicated by an average score of 76 that failed to meet the minimum passing criteria. This issue was further supported by the results of a student interest survey, which showed a low average score of 56. To address this problem, the researcher implemented a differentiated content strategy through classroom action research using the Kemmis & Taggart model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection across two cycles. In the first cycle, classroom learning incorporated varied content such as images, videos, and educational games, successfully raising the students’ average score to 80. In the second cycle, learning was conducted both in the classroom and in the computer lab, where students created educational games as part of the strategy. The results of the second cycle showed a significant improvement, with the average score increasing to 86, thereby meeting the study's success indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to explore Abdullah Saeed's thoughts about Fazlur Rahman, namely Rahman’s critique of traditional Islam, Rahman's framework for interpretation, and an assessment of Rahman’s contribution. This study is a literature review using analytical descriptive methods with primary and secondary data sources from literature materials. The results of this study show that: first, Fazlur Rahman highlights that traditional Islam tends to be trapped in backwardness of thought due to stagnant interpretation and interpretation of sacred texts. He emphasized that thinkers and ulama should make serious efforts to adapt Islamic understanding to changing times and social dynamics; secondly, to understand the Qur’an correctly, we must understand the text in its historical context and relate it to universal values that can be applied in the context of modern times; and third, Abdullah Saeed appreciated Fazlur Rahman's great contribution to the world of contemporary Islamic thought. According to him, Fazlur Rahman opened a new path in the interpretation of the Qur’an with a more dynamic and progressive approach in the form of a method of interpreting the Qur’an that takes into account historical, social context, and universal values, allowing for a broader and more relevant understanding of how to convey the messages of the Koran in modern times.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in shaping character and improving the quality of human resources. In the context of learning, the strategies implemented by educators have a major influence on the success of the teaching and learning process. One of the developing approaches is the inquiry learning strategy, which places students as active subjects in seeking and building knowledge through exploration and investigation. This approach supports the development of critical thinking skills and student independence, as well as strengthening learning motivation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the inquiry learning strategy, explore the advantages and challenges faced in its implementation, and formulate an appropriate implementation strategy. The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study show that the inquiry strategy is effective in improving student learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, and social skills, but also faces challenges such as time constraints and teacher readiness. Therefore, for its optimal implementation, it is necessary to select a strategy that is in accordance with the characteristics of students and teaching materials, as well as support from competent teachers. Inquiry learning has proven to be an innovative alternative in improving the quality of education, especially in equipping students with 21st century skills.
