Abstract

Schools are required to implement the independent learning curriculum. This curriculum provides an open space for children to explore and express their interest in learning so that in the future children will have a good spirit of competence and good characteristics. The application of technology in schools is very suitable for the context of independent learning. One of the problems experienced by schools is that they have not utilized technology such as microcontrollers in the teaching and learning process. This community service program is implemented through 3 stages, namely the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. In the preparation stage, observations and interviews were carried out. At the program implementation stage, the teaching and learning process is carried out using a project-based learning model. The evaluation stage is carried out during the service activity process and afterwards. During the process, students are evaluated. Based on the results of the implementation of activities, it is known at MA YPKP Sentani that the implementation of the independent learning program using a project-based learning model that utilizes microcontroller-based sensors has gone well. It is hoped that the results of this activity can become a benchmark for the development of the learning process as targeted by the activity objectives.

Abstract

Rumpon is an environmentally friendly and highly effective fishing tool. Fishermen in the Jayapura city are skilled in capturing small pelagic fish, but they often have to search fish in constantly shifting and disorganized locations. This is due to a knowledge lack in determining the right fishing grounds. Another constraint is that Hamadi fishermen lack sufficient basic knowledge about the proper, correct, and environmentally friendly construction of rumpons. Factors influencing this situation include the lack of support from relevant agencies, limited knowledge, and the capital required for rumpon construction. Therefore, training in rumpon construction for fishermen in the Hamadi District is crucial. The aim of this training is to enhance the understanding of local fishermen in the city of Jayapura regarding the role of rumpons as fishing aids and environmentally friendly rumpon construction techniques. The methods used in this training include observation, the delivery of material on rumpon construction techniques, and focused group discussions (FGDs). From the results of the activities, local fishermen in the Hamadi District, Jayapura, have varying levels of understanding. However, based on the analysis, it is evident that the percentage of understanding among the fishermen before and after the training is significantly different. Before the training, the average level of understanding among fishermen was low in terms of rumpon construction steps. After the pre-test, about 60.625% of fishermen answered incorrectly, while only 39.375% answered correctly. However, after the training, a significant change occurred, with approximately 92.125% of fishermen answering correctly, and only about 7.875% answering incorrectly.

Abstract

Arabica coffee milling is one of the business units run at Pondok Rumah Sajada Sleman, Yogyakarta. Its use is still limited to selling ground coffee products or as an ingredient in coffee drinks at local drink shops. Therefore, the potential of this coffee needs to be developed more widely and have a selling value like cookie products. Cookies are a food product that is very familiar to the public. The light texture, flavors, and aromas that can be developed in various ways make the trend of cookie consumption even more attractive. On the other hand, students in Islamic boarding schools need to be equipped with knowledge related to food product processing, which can later become a provision for their future independence. In this service activity, socialization, and the practice of applying coffee flavor to making cookies with the substitution of purple uwi flour have been carried out at the cottage. Apart from utilizing the existing potential of ground coffee, coffee can increase consumers' attraction to cookies. The activity method is carried out using lecture techniques, which are equipped with the distribution of posters to each student and the practice of making cookies together. The boarding school administrators and students appreciated the positivity of this activity. This activity can be further developed by making other low-calorie cookies and business management training for students.

Abstract

The Ecoprint batik making group in Bajong Village, Bukateja Subdistrict, has the potential to support the community's economy with the concept of environmentally friendly products. However, group partners experience obstacles in increasing sales due to a lack of knowledge and sales management as well as a lack of marketing strategy. Apart from that, the location of the owner's house is not strategic, and the lack of financial records, stock and raw materials are obstacles in business development. The main problem faced by partners is low turnover due to minimal use of technology in marketing strategies, lack of transaction and stock management, and limited production equipment. The solution proposed in this Student Activity Research (PKM) involves various stages, including training in the use of technology, improving sales management, procurement of production equipment, and product diversification based on market analysis. By implementing these solutions, there have been an increase in the income of Ecoprint batik group partners. The results of this PKM are disseminated through national journals, electronic mass media and online videos, providing wider benefits and increasing public awareness about environmentally friendly products.

Abstract

This activity fills the knowledge gap in students' fundamental grasp of computer vision by emphasizing direct engagement with daily technologies. The major objective is to raise students' technology literacy and equip them to become future leaders with contextually applicable knowledge of computer vision. This program, which involves 170 students, consists of seminars, workshops, and on-the-job training. Statistical tests, such as the Wilcoxon test, are used in the analysis process to compare understanding levels before and after the activity. The Wilcoxon test regularly confirmed significant differences and statistical data demonstrated a considerable gain in computer vision literacy among participants. A comprehensive picture of how student comprehension has changed is provided by descriptive analysis. Analyzing statistical data confirms how well the activities alter participants' perceptions, to have a long-term effect on the advancement of technology and society development.

Abstract

The small, micro, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector is known to be lacking in recording financial transactions or bookkeeping. Many community service activities have been carried out to provide knowledge, train and assist business people in the form of simple bookkeeping training. The aim of writing this article is to review community service activities with simple bookkeeping objects. The review was carried out by searching online publications for activities over the last 5 years. Search results are arranged in summary form and grouped based on several categories. The results of the review show that the number of activities has tended to increase greatly in the last 3 years. Activity partners are generally MSME actors who are grouped into one training activity. The method that is widely used is providing material and direct practice in financial recording which is done manually. Digitalization of bookkeeping is still minimally communicated to business actors. Further reviews can be carried out to examine digitalization and the level of success/obstacles in its implementation.

Abstract

The community service collaboration program between IBI Unity (IBIK) and Mara Technology University (UiTM) and Cibuluh Batik Village has been carried out through training activities for the Cibuluh Batik Village MSME group. In this activity, it was found that the UMKM group in Kampung Batik Cibuluh was still experiencing problems in terms of streamlining production costs through suppressing production raw material costs and the inability of business actors to use available technological resources such as social media and online shopping applications (e-commerce). This activity was carried out to help residents of Kampung Batik Cibuluh as one of the MSME groups in solving their problems, especially in terms of determining production costs and marketing products digitally. Based on a survey on the effectiveness of MSME governance and the training conducted, the results obtained were that most business actors were parents and did not have sufficient experience which was the main reason for the implementation of production cost calculations that had not been maximized. In addition, problems related to digital marketing still require further training.
