Abstract

The integration of science and religion presents a challenge in higher education, particularly in courses that link scientific knowledge with the teachings of the Qur'an. The Case Based Learning (CBL) approach is considered effective in enhancing students' understanding and engagement through the analysis of real-life cases. This study aims to develop a Semester Learning Plan (RPS) based on CBL for the course Science in the Qur'an using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). The Define phase includes identifying issues, setting learning objectives, and planning the necessary resources. The Development phase focuses on the creation and validation of the RPS, which is reviewed by content and language experts. Subsequently, trials were conducted with small and large groups to assess the practicality and effectiveness of the RPS. The results indicate that the CBL-based RPS is highly practical, with practicality scores of 90.62% for the small group and 92.96% for the large group. Additionally, the RPS proved effective in improving students' learning outcomes, with significant improvements in understanding and analytical skills. This study shows that the CBL-based RPS can enrich learning by integrating science and religious teachings, making a positive contribution to education in the fields of physics and Islamic studies.

Abstract

The design of a temperature monitoring and stabilization system on a microcontroller based cold region outdoor jacket by utilizing microcontroller technology, by ensuring user comfort while in a cold temperature environment. This research is shown specifically in cold areas, with the aim of preventing hypothermia commonly experienced by climbers or humans, who are active in cold areas. The results of the system research on outdoor jackets that can monitor and stabilize the user's body temperature automatically, especially in cold areas. This system uses an ESP32 microcontroller, which is equipped with the Blynk application to control and monitor temperature using a smartphone. When the ambient temperature drops below 20°C, the system automatically activates the carbon fiber heating pad to maintain a stable body temperature. The jacket is designed to function offline, where the system will rely on the temperature sensor to activate the carbon fibre heating pad if the temperature drops below 20°C. Test results show that the system works well, providing efficient results in power consumption, responsive to temperature changes, and effective in maintaining temperature stability. The resulting jacket is comfortable and safe so that it does not interfere with outdoor jacket users in various conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the depth of aquifer layers in Muara Batu and Dewantara sub-districts, North Aceh Regency, Indonesia. The investigation was conducted at five location points (NA1, NA2, NA3, NA4, and NA5), each with a 600 m spread. Data collection at these points was carried out using the Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) method with a Schlumberger configuration, utilizing the SuperSting R8/IP Resistivimeter. The data processing results produced resistivity cross-sections of the rock layers down to a depth of 150 m. Based on the cross-sections, the aquifer layers exhibit low resistivity values (<13.5 Ωm), consisting of sand, a mixture of sand and gravel, calcareous sandstone, and sandstone. The depths of potential aquifer layers at each measurement point are as follows: 35.9–150 m at NA1, 23.6–150 m at NA2, 54.5–150 m at NA3, 28.5–101 m at NA4, and 52.8–150 m at NA5. Points NA1, NA2, NA3, and NA4 show the presence of water-saturated layers starting at a shallow depth of 1.5 m. In contrast, NA5, located in a hilly area with complex geological conditions, has more resistive layers and limited groundwater potential compared to the other points.

Abstract

The current fish resources are abundant, and the discovery of new species has increased the variety of fish in the ocean. These fish are categorized into three groups: demersal, pelagic, and reef fish, each with unique characteristics of their respective groups. The manual classification process for large datasets requires a long time and involves complex procedures. With the advent of data and information technology, it is now possible to recognize and identify several fish species found in the ocean, which can be classified into the three groups. To simplify this classification process, a web-based system has been developed to classify fish into these groups. The data to be processed in this research will be classified using the Naive Bayes method to address this issue. This technique utilizes large datasets to extract information that was previously unknown or inaccessible, and it can provide accurate information for various purposes. The data for this study will be collected from various internet references and direct data obtained from fish landing sites (TPI) in Lhokseumawe and North Aceh. Additionally, a literature review method will be used to complement the data analysis process. The development of the web-based system will be implemented to facilitate the classification of fish species based on the existing data.

Abstract

Abstract. The basic principle of integrating digital media (technology) in learning aims to improve students' conceptual understanding and develop students' ability to communicate in carrying out their roles both in the world of education and in society. This research aims to determine the effect of implementing digital technology to create differentiated learning in achieving IKM (Independent Curriculum Implementation) in schools, focusing on students' critical thinking abilities. The technique for determining school research locations uses random sampling techniques. The research used a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group research design, where the experimental class was treated with the implementation of digital media using the Read, Answer, Discussion, Explain, and Create (RADEC) model. In contrast, the control class used an expository learning model. Tests to measure students' critical thinking competencies are given in the form of pretest and posttest. The results of students' critical thinking results showed that the average pretest scores for the experimental and control classes were 28.18 and 25.76, while the posttests for the experimental and control classes were 84.47 and 69.92. This shows that after being given treatment there was an improvement compared to before being given treatment. Test the Critical Thinking hypothesis using the Maan-Whitney test, if the Asymp Sig value is < 0.05, then the Hypothesis is accepted, and if the Asymp Sig value is > 0.05 then the Hypothesis is rejected. It can be concluded that there is an influence of the implementation of digital technology on students' critical thinking abilities using the Read, Answer, Discussion, Explain, and Create (RADEC) model.
