Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) holds a strategic position in Indonesia's national education system, particularly in shaping the character, morals, and spirituality of students. However, the implementation of PAI education in Indonesia still faces various complex challenges, ranging from curriculum aspects, teacher competency, learning methodology, to the challenges of globalization and religious moderation. This article aims to comprehensively examine issues in PAI education in Indonesia using a literature review approach from scientific journals and academic books. The method used is a literature review of journal articles and primary reference books relevant to Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that the main problems in PAI education lie in the curriculum that is not fully contextual, learning methods that are still conventional, limited competency of PAI teachers, and the weak integration of religious moderation values ​​and digital literacy. This article is expected to serve as an academic reference for the development of PAI education policies and practices that are more relevant to the needs of the times.

Abstract

Personnel administration of teachers and educational staff is a strategic aspect of educational management as it directly affects the quality of human resources in education. Teachers and educational staff, as key assets of educational institutions, must be managed in a professional, systematic, and sustainable manner. This article aims to examine the concept of personnel administration, the professionalism of teachers and educational staff, and the relationship between personnel administration and human resource development. This study employs a library research method by reviewing foundational theoretical books, national scientific journal articles, and other relevant literature. The findings indicate that personnel administration is not merely an administrative function but a managerial process that includes planning, recruitment, development, performance evaluation, and career advancement of teachers and educational staff.Effective personnel administration contributes to improved professionalism, job satisfaction, and performance of educational human resources, ultimately supporting the continuous improvement of educational quality.

Abstract

Globalization has brought significant changes to various aspects of human life, including education. Islamic education, which is oriented toward the development of character, spirituality, and intellectual capacity, faces numerous challenges in the era of globalization, such as the influence of foreign cultures, rapid digital transformation, and the demands of 21st-century competencies. This study aims to examine the challenges, problems, and impacts of globalization on Islamic education, as well as to formulate relevant modernization strategies. This research employs a library research method by analyzing books and recent scholarly articles. The findings indicate that Islamic education encounters both internal and external challenges, including weak curriculum integration, limited teacher competence, and a crisis of moral values and identity among students. Nevertheless, globalization also provides opportunities for innovation in learning and the enhancement of educational quality through the effective use of technology and human resource development. Therefore, Islamic education must be adaptive and innovative while consistently maintaining Islamic values in order to produce Muslim generations who are faithful, morally upright, knowledgeable, and capable of contributing positively to the global society.

Abstract

A diagnostic test is a form of evaluation conducted before the start of learning to identify students' initial abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and misconceptions. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), this test plays a crucial role in determining students' readiness to learn, including cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. With diagnostic test results, teachers can design more targeted learning, provide remedial classes, and tailor enrichment programs to meet students' needs. This paper discusses the definition of diagnostic tests, the purpose of their application in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, the types of diagnostic tests, both cognitive and non-cognitive, and the steps involved in developing them. The discussion demonstrates that diagnostic tests are not only an evaluation tool but also an instrument for improving the learning process to make it more effective, adaptive, and oriented to student needs.

Abstract

Educational evaluation plays a strategic role in measuring the achievement of learning objectives and serves as a basis for decision-making to improve the learning process. The quality of evaluation is strongly influenced by the assessment instruments used, particularly through the development of test blueprints and the implementation of item analysis. This article aims to examine the role of test blueprints and item analysis in improving the quality of educational evaluation. The method employed is a literature review of relevant theoretical frameworks and recent national and international research findings. The discussion reveals that test blueprints function as systematic guidelines in planning assessment instruments to ensure alignment with competencies, content, and cognitive levels, thereby supporting content validity. Meanwhile, item analysis—both qualitative and quantitative—plays a crucial role in empirically evaluating item quality through indicators such as difficulty index, discrimination power, distractor effectiveness, and test reliability. The integration of well-designed test blueprints and systematic item analysis has been shown to enhance assessment objectivity, reduce teacher subjectivity, and provide a more accurate representation of students’ abilities. Therefore, the consistent application of these two components is a fundamental requirement for conducting valid, reliable, and quality-oriented educational evaluations.

Abstract

Evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning needs to encompass the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains so that student learning outcomes can be measured comprehensively. However, PAI evaluation has so far been dominated by cognitive assessment. This study aims to develop an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) evaluation instrument that encompasses all three domains. The study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach through the stages of needs analysis, instrument design, expert validation, and limited trials at Muhammadiyah 9 Junior High School, Ngemplak, Boyolali. The instruments developed included a written test for the cognitive domain, a questionnaire and observation sheet for the affective domain, and a performance assessment rubric for the psychomotor domain. Validation results indicated that the instrument has a high level of validity and reliability and is suitable for use in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning evaluation. This instrument is expected to help teachers conduct more comprehensive learning evaluations oriented toward developing student competencies and character.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between guidance and counseling services and students’ learning motivation. Learning motivation is an important factor that influences students’ success in the learning process, while guidance and counseling services function as systematic assistance to help students develop their potential, overcome problems, and foster positive attitudes toward learning. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The research subjects were students selected using a specific sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires on guidance and counseling services and learning motivation, and then analyzed using statistical correlation techniques. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between guidance and counseling services and students’ learning motivation. The better the guidance and counseling services provided, the higher the students’ learning motivation. Therefore, guidance and counseling services play an important role in enhancing students’ learning motivation and should be implemented optimally in school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of guidance and counseling services ‎in addressing students’ learning motivation problems in secondary schools. Low learning motivation is one of the factors that ‎significantly affects academic achievement and students’ personal ‎development. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, ‎with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. ‎The research subjects consisted of guidance and counseling teachers and ‎students who experienced a decline in learning motivation. The findings ‎indicate that guidance and counseling services, particularly individual ‎counseling and group counseling, play an important role in helping ‎students understand their learning problems, increase self-awareness, ‎and foster intrinsic motivation. Well-planned and continuous ‎implementation of guidance and counseling services has proven effective ‎in encouraging positive changes in students’ learning attitudes. Therefore, ‎strengthening the role of guidance and counseling teachers is essential to ‎enhance students’ learning motivation in secondary schools‎.

Abstract

Islamic Guidance and Counseling is a continuous process of providing assistance to help individuals develop their fitrah and achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter. This article discusses the techniques of guidance and counseling in Islam, the urgency of Islamic guidance and counseling in education, and the principles of Islamic guidance and counseling. The results show that Islamic guidance and counseling are very important in helping individuals achieve educational goals and form a useful personality in life‎.

Abstract

Islamic guidance and counseling is a strategic effort to assist students in overcoming various problems encountered in the school environment. This approach emphasizes the internalization of Islamic values derived from the Qur’an and Hadith in the guidance and counseling process. This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic guidance and counseling in addressing students’ problems at school. The research method used is qualitative with a library research approach by reviewing relevant literature, journals, and scientific sources related to the topic. The results indicate that Islamic guidance and counseling plays an important role in helping students understand themselves, manage emotions, improve social skills, and develop a balanced personality in both worldly and spiritual aspects. The implementation of Islamic guidance and counseling is carried out through several stages, namely analysis, synthesis, diagnosis, prognosis, and counseling, all of which are based on Islamic values. Therefore, Islamic guidance and counseling can be an effective solution in handling students’ problems and supporting the achievement of holistic educational goals.
