Abstract

Decentralization of education through School/Madrasah-Based Management (SBM/M) is a strategy to improve the quality of education by granting schools or madrasas broader authority in managing resources, developing programs, and making decisions according to the needs and characteristics of each institution. This article aims to examine the concept, implementation, and impact of SBM/M implementation in supporting the effectiveness of education management. The study uses a library research method by analyzing various scientific literature, books, and relevant regulations. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SBM/M can increase school community participation, management transparency, accountability, and the quality of education services when supported by effective leadership, human resource competency, and community involvement. Thus, decentralization of education through SBM/M is a strategic approach in realizing independent, democratic education governance, and oriented towards continuous quality improvement.

Abstract

Children under five may experience adverse consequences from inadequate nutritional intake. Short-term effects include impaired brain development, intelligence, physical growth, and body metabolism, whereas long-term effects include reduced cognitive ability and academic achievement, weakened immunity, increased susceptibility to illness, and a higher risk of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and health instability in later life. This study aimed to examine the association between mothers' nutritional knowledge and the nutritional status of children under five at Sion Clinic. A descriptive research design was employed. The population comprised all mothers with children under five in the Sion Clinic service area, while the sample consisted of 20 mothers whose children attended immunization services. Participants were selected through accidental (convenience) sampling, and data were collected using a questionnaire. Chi-square analysis yielded a p-value of 0.028, which was below the 0.05 significance level, indicating a statistically significant association between mothers' nutritional knowledge and children's nutritional status. Among the 20 respondents, six mothers (30%) had good knowledge and children with good nutritional status; three (15%) had good knowledge and children with adequate nutritional status; two (10%) had moderate knowledge and children with good nutritional status; five (25%) had moderate knowledge and children with adequate nutritional status; one (5%) had moderate knowledge and a child with poor nutritional status; one (5%) had poor knowledge and a child with adequate nutritional status; and two (10%) had poor knowledge and children with poor nutritional status. The findings indicate that higher maternal nutritional knowledge tends to be associated with better nutritional status among children under five. Maternal knowledge plays an important role in caregiving practices and the provision of appropriate nutrition for children.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of customer satisfaction in facing increasingly competitive service business competition, especially at PT Swakarsa Jaya Indonesia which still faces various complaints related to service quality and the effectiveness of promotional prices. This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and promotional prices on customer satisfaction at PT Swakarsa Jaya Indonesia. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires using a Likert scale. The study population amounted to 1,000 consumers with a sample of 91 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data analysis was carried out through validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficients of determination. The results showed that service quality has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction with a calculated t value of 5.810 > t table 1.986 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Promotional prices also have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction with a calculated t value of 2.519 > t table 1.986 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Simultaneously, service quality and promotional prices significantly influence customer satisfaction. Research findings indicate that improving service quality supported by appropriate promotional pricing strategies can increase customer satisfaction levels. An Adjusted R Square value of 90% indicates that variations in customer satisfaction can be explained by service quality and promotional prices, while the remaining 10% is influenced by other factors outside the study. Thus, service quality and promotional prices are important factors in increasing customer satisfaction at PT Swakarsa Jaya Indonesia.

Abstract

Learning readiness and student engagement are fundamental factors influencing the quality of teaching and learning in higher education. Nevertheless, group presentations are often conducted with limited preparation, resulting in superficial discussions, insufficient conceptual understanding, and the potential for misconceptions during classroom learning. This study aimed to explore how the Pre-Presentation Feedback Strategy (SUPP) fosters students' learning readiness and engagement by providing academic feedback prior to classroom presentations. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. The strategy was implemented across several undergraduate courses for more than two semesters, involving over 200 third-semester and senior students. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with student representatives from each class, document analysis, end-of-course evaluations, and the lecturer's reflective notes. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and SaldaƱa. The findings reveal that SUPP enhanced students' learning readiness by encouraging systematic preparation, revision based on academic feedback, and deeper conceptual understanding before presentations. Furthermore, the strategy promoted higher levels of student engagement, as reflected in improved presentation quality, more active classroom discussions, greater self-confidence, and stronger academic responsibility. Students also reported a shift in perception, from initially viewing the strategy as demanding to recognizing its contribution to improving their learning experience. These findings suggest that the Pre-Presentation Feedback Strategy has the potential to foster a more reflective, collaborative, and improvement-oriented learning culture in higher education
