Abstract

Higher education has an important role in educating and motivating students to be entrepreneurs. The research aims to analyze the role of entrepreneurship education, attitude toward entrepreneurship, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and proactive personality on entrepreneurship intentions. This research was conducted among Faculty of Economics students in Medan, North Sumatera. The research used a quantitative descriptive method by using a questionnaire, which has been filled out by the students, employing convenience sampling. The results show that all the examined variables influenced the entrepreneurship intentions among students. Theoretical and practical implications will be explored at the end of the paper.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and get consumer behavior in-car audio purchasing decisions. The design of this study is descriptive and qualitative. The sampling technique in this study used snowball sampling techniques with criteria totaling three people, which will be the key informants namely Muslih, Gilang Amran, and Abinaya Pamungkas. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis with interactive analysis. The results of the study, according to the informants, found that consumer behavior in purchasing decisions based on the economic situation is if the higher income earned then the purchasing power level will be higher in the adjustment of expenditure needs and the selection of one's product to car audio purchase decisions in the Cherly Audio Shop, and vice versa. Based on lifestyle is someone's activity that is gathering with friends, the someone's interest that is because of price likes to change car audio and follow someone's trend and the opinion that is because of work, hobby, price, service, and personal experience. And based on perceptions is price, wide parking, ease of use and variety of products available. Perceptions are also stimulated by the existence of internal factors, namely the comfort of sound results, trust, and service. And also the external factors, namely product sophistication, friend invitation and unique audio features. The decision to purchase car audio is influenced by internal stimuli, namely looking for comfort and alternatives to avoid feeling bored and sleepy then the sources of information that is obtained from friends and brochures, likewise the purchasing decisions are influenced by prices. So that consumers respond to satisfaction and will act to recommend to their friends and will make repeat purchases after making a purchase decision. Car audio that is favored by consumers in the Cherly Audio Store is the subwoofer and speaker.

Abstract

Kinerja guru merupakan hasil kerja yang dicapai oleh seorang guru dalam melaksanakan tugasnya sesuai dengan tanggung jawab yang diberikan kepadanya. Akan tetapi berdasarkan fakta di lapangan, kinerja guru masih belum optimal. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh pendidikan, pelatihan dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru di SD dan SMP Swasta Budi Murni 3 Medan baik secara simultan maupun parsial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan populasi berjumlah 44 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah survey menggunakan kuesioner sebagai instrumen. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa secara simultan tingkat pendidikan (X1), pelatihan (X2), dan motivasi kerja (X3) secara bersama- sama memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru (Y). Kemudian analisis koefisien determinasi variabel tingkat pendidikan (X1) pelatihan (X2) dan motivasi (X3) memberikan pengaruh sebesar 53,4% terhadap variabel kinerja guru (Y), sedangkan 46,6% sisanya dijelaskan oleh faktor-faktor lain di luar model.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test and analyze the role of capital structure and company size as variable control of the influence of managerial ownership, independent commissioners, and institutional ownership on earnings quality. Earnings quality is measured by discretionary accruals using Modified Jones Model. This research uses secondary data that were taken from the manufacturing companies which are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. There are 66 manufacture companies selected as research samples on the period of 2013 until 2017 based on purposive sampling method. The analytical method for this research uses panel data regression with the aid of the Eviews program. The result shows that partially, managerial ownership, independent commissioner, and institutional ownership had a significant influence on the earnings quality. Capital structure is able as a good control variable, because capital structure had negative significant influence.

Abstract

Gojek, dan Grab merupakan taksi berbasis aplikasi online yang saling berkompetisi di Kota Medan. Oleh karena itu, sangatlah penting untuk mengetahui penilaian pengguna atas pelayanan yang telah diberikan selama ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penilaian pengguna atas pelayanan yang diberikan dan mengetahui faktor pelayanan yang dianggap penting oleh pengguna, tetapi belum baik dalam pelaksanaanya. Dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survey yang melibatkan 100 responden pelanggan Gojek, dan Grab. Dari informasi yang diperoleh melalui survey, data diolah oleh penulis dengan Analisis Kuadran (Importance Performance Analysis – IPA). Hasil Importance Performance Analysis menunjukan bahwa indikator kualitas pelayanan Reliability menempati kuadran A yang berarti pengguna merasa dimensi ini penting, akan tetapi pelaksanaannya masih kurang baik maka perlu adanya perhatian khusus untuk meningkatkan kinerja, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan. Untuk dimensi Tangibles dan Dimensi Assurance berada pada Kuadran B, berarti pengguna merasa dimensi-dimensi ini penting dan kinerja perusahaan sudah baik sehingga pelaksanaanya perlu dipertahankan. Sedangkan Dimensi Responsiveness dan Dimensi Empathy berada pada kuadran C, ini berarti pengguna merasa dimensi-dimensi ini kurang penting dan kinerja perusahaan dirasakan belum cukup baik dalam pelaksanaanya. Maka, kesesuaian harapan pelanggan dan kinerja perusahaan atas kualitas pelayanan dan meningkatkan loyalitasnya dilakukan melalui pelatihan dan motivasi kepada pengemudi dengan sebelumnya telah diseleksi pada saat perekrutan karyawan.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effect of leadership, motivation, and discipline on employee performance at PT. Santika Premiere Dyandra Hotel and Medan Convention. The population is 202 employees. The number of samples in this study was 134 employees and the validity and reliability testing was 30 employees. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The results showed that simultaneously leadership, motivation, and discipline had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at PT. Santika Premiere Dyandra Hotel and Medan Convention. Partially, leadership, motivation and discipline had a positive and significant impact on employee performance at PT. Santika Premiere Dyandra Hotel and Medan Convention.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of work discipline, training, and communication on employee performance at PT. Suriatama Mitra Perwita Medan. Researchers took the population in this study of as many as 147 employees. The number of samples in this study was 107 respondents. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The results showed that work discipline partially had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at PT. Suriatama Mitra Perwita Medan. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of cash turnover, account receivable turnover, and inventory turnover on Return on Equity in Manufacturing Companies for the 2015-2017 period both partially and simultaneously. The data in this study are secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website. While the research data sources are: Financial Reports of Manufacturing Companies in the consumer goods sector. The number of samples used was 22 companies taken from a population of 45 companies with the year observations of 5 years so the number of observations in this study was 66 observations. The analytical method technique used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that cash turnover and inventory turnover have a significant positive effect on Return on Equity while account receivable turnover has a significant negative effect on Return on Equity. Simultaneously cash turnover, account receivable turnover, and inventory turnover have a significant effect on Return on Equity in Manufacturing Companies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi penerapan analisis SWOT (strengths; weaknesses; opportunities; threats) pada strategi pemasaran layanan Pos Express pada unit PT. Pos Indonesia Pematang Siantar. Peneliti menggunakan teknik penelitian kualitatif dengan cara melakukan observasi dan wawancara pada perusahaan untuk mengidentifikasi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman. Hasil penelitian menemukan sejumlah kekuatan, dan peluang yang bisa dimanfaatkan oleh perusahaan dalam penentuan strategi pemasaran jasa layanan pengiriman barang. Selain itu, perusahaan juga harus waspada dan berupaya untuk mengurangi dampak ancaman dari lingkungan eksternal, serta kelemahan-kelemahan perusahaan yang dapat menurunkan kinerja manajerial.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of compensation and work environment as independent variables both simultaneously and partially on employee performance and the dominant variable between the two variables. This type of research is quantitative descriptive using multiple linear regression analysis. The data collection used a questionnaire with a sample of 47 employees of the Camplong Hotel in Sampang district. The results of this study are seen from the t-test with a probability of 0.05 having a sig. X1 is 0.000 and the value is sig. X2 is 0.003 where the value is less than Alpha 5%. It means that both independent variables partially and simultaneously affect employee performance. Finally, compensation is the most dominant variable affecting employee performance.
