Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between performance appraisal perception and job satisfaction. The research was conducted among an inspection, testing, certification, training and consultancy company in North Sumatera, where all the employees became the respondents. The research used a quantitative descriptive method by using a questionnaire, which has been filled out by 85 respondents. The results show that the performance appraisal perceptions affect the job satisfaction. Theoretical and practical implication will be discussed at the end of the paper .

Abstract

Electronic human resource management (e-HRM) systems become more widely used by profit and non-profit organization. However, the field currently lacks sound theoretical frameworks that can be useful in addressing a key issue concerning the implementation of e-HRM systems, in particular to obtain a better understanding of the factors influencing the adoption of e-HRM systems. The objective of this paper is to provide a foundation towards the development of a theoretical framework for the implementation of e-HRM systems and develop a conceptual model that would reflect the nature of e-HRM systems’ adoption through systematic literature review. Adopting Crossan and Apaydin’s procedure of systematic review, this paper investigated 21 empirical papers of electronics human resources management, then categorized them into 4 characteristics which influence the adoption; System and technology characteristics; Organizational characteristics; User/individual characteristics, and Environmental and contextual characteristics. Finally, the e-HRM adoption research framework is drawn and based on the framework; avenues for future research are discussed. Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: Manajemen sumber daya manusia elektronik (selanjutnya disebut dengan e-HRM) semakin banyak digunakan oleh organisasi profit dan nonprofit. Namun, bidang dan topik ini belum memiliki kerangka teori yang mapan, yang dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis isu-isu terkait penerapan e-HRM, terutama mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi adopsi sistem e-HRM. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan landasan bagi pengembangan kerangka teoritis untuk implementasi sistem e-HRM dan mengembangkan model konseptual yang akan menggambarkan adopsi sistem e-HRM melalui tinjauan literatur sistematis. Mengadopsi prosedur dan metode Crossan dan Apaydin untuk melakukan telaah literatur secara sistematis, paper ini menyelidiki 21 publikasi empiris manajemen sumber daya manusia elektronik dari 2 database internasional; Business Source Premier dan Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), kemudian mengelompokkannya ke dalam 4 karakteristik yang mempengaruhi adopsi e-HRM; (1). Karakteristik sistem dan teknologi, (2). Karakteristik organisasi, (3). Karakteristik pengguna / individu, dan (4). Karakteristik lingkungan dan kontekstual. Paper ini juga menggambarkan kerangka penelitian adopsi e-HRM serta usulan-usulan untuk penelitian mendatang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the independent variables (independent) namely the Board of Commissioners, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors on the value of the company with the size of the company as a moderating variable. This research was conducted on non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2015-2019. Sample selection was done by purposive sampling method from 609 and obtained 9 samples that met the requirements. The data analysis method used in this study is descriptive statistical analysis method, classical assumption test (normality test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test, heteroscedasticity test), moderating regression analysis, and hypothesis testing (hypothesis testing). partially (F test), hypothesis testing simultaneously (t test), and coefficient of determination test (R2). The results of this study indicate that: 1) The Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors have no effect but significant on firm value, the Audit Committee has an effect and significant to Company Value. 2) Company size as a moderating variable is able to moderate the relationship between the Board of Directors and Company Value.

Abstract

The purpose of community service at HKBP Padang Bulan Elementary and Junior School is to provide input for teachers, principals, regarding efforts to improve teacher performance. Thus, teachers are expected to improve the quality of education. The efforts that can be taken are the establishment of institutions that foster the performance of teachers and education staff, supervision of school principals, teacher consultation activities, bringing in motivators, providing adequate facilities, and providing adequate welfare. Teachers are expected to develop themselves and always follow the changes that occur.

Abstract

Community Service aims to provide understanding and the importance of collaborating in entrepreneurship in Lumban Pea Timur Village, Toba Regency. In this case, the method used is the lecture, discussion, and question and answer method. Through this, there are many ways that can be done to collaborate in developing a business or entrepreneur. In this meeting, it is known what business is being carried out, what business will be carried out and what problems are faced in developing an entrepreneur. In the end, it was discovered that the most pressing problem in recent times is business capital and the need for a regional regulation to support and protect businesses.

Abstract

Community Service is one of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and this activity is very beneficial to the community and to the lecturers who carry out these activities. The Lecturers of the Faculty of Economics, Management Study Program carried out this activity at the Damai Prosperous Community Self-Reliance Agency (BKM) in Sukaraja Village - Medan Maimun District with the topic "Tips for Starting a New Business". The method used is lectures and guided discussions. The conclusions that can be formulated are the need to know the reasons for having a business, what to think about when opening a business, types of business fields that have prospects in the future, various successful strategies for starting a business venture, high enthusiasm is needed to become an entrepreneur, and practical matters in starting a business, as well as what competencies an entrepreneur/entrepreneur must have

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh budaya kerja dan komitmen terhadap kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner kepada responden. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah perawat rumah sakit yang berjumlah 89 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara, kuesioner, observasi, studi kepustakaan, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier berganda, untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat. Berdasarkan hasil uji regresi linier berganda, menunjukan bahwa budaya kerja bernilai 0.681 satuan dan memiliki hubungan yang paling dominan terhadap variabel kinerja karyawan, sementara komitmen memiliki nilai yang lebih kecil dengan nilai 0.326 satuan. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis secara parsial dan simultan menunjukan bahwa budaya kerja dan komitmen memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Hasil uji koefisien determinasi dengan menggunakan R-Square diperoleh hasil bahwa kontribusi budaya kerja dan komitmen dalam mempengaruhi Kinerja karyawan adalah sebesar 62.5%.

Abstract

The goal of HRM practices is to increase productivity and organizational performance. Training as one of the HRM practices can improve organizational performance through enhancing organizational human capital and organizational knowledge. This research examines the interaction between training and external feedback, which might strengthen the relationship between training and organizational performance in a positive way. Using a qualitative research approach, the research had been done in a service company mainly focus on delivery services. After interviewing the key people in the organization, we concluded that external feedback given by the supervisors or colleagues can strengthen the relationship between training and organizational performance. Finally, practical implication and research limitations are discussed.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to examine the service quality perception of Internet cafe in Medan City. The research has been conducted in 30 Internet cafe, used a convenience sampling method to survey 286 respondents. The questionnaire measures five dimensions of service quality; tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. Overall, the perception of service quality of Internet Cafe in Medan city is adequately good. Finally, implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.

Abstract

Higher education has an important role in educating and motivating students to be entrepreneurs. The research aims to analyze the role of entrepreneurship education, attitude toward entrepreneurship, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and proactive personality on entrepreneurship intentions. This research was conducted among Faculty of Economics students in Medan, North Sumatera. The research used a quantitative descriptive method by using a questionnaire, which has been filled out by the students, employing convenience sampling. The results show that all the examined variables influenced the entrepreneurship intentions among students. Theoretical and practical implications will be explored at the end of the paper.
