Abstract

Learning is a process of acculturation, in the sense that learning becomes a vehicle for the transmission of scientific culture and the culture of national life to students as the next generation, the adoption of scientific culture and the culture of community life by students, as well as the development of culture within a community. However, learning itself has cultural traditions, assumptions, scientific principles, etc. which makes learning a separate cultural system. From time to time, the culture of learning has changed, along with developments in science, advances in technology, and various needs of society. And society is a collection of individuals who organize themselves into certain groups. To be a community, a particular group must have something in common that allows them to perceive each other as distinct from their own and other "similarities" that ultimately form a culture. Culture is a kind of social cement which consists of typical habits such as principles, ideals, attitudes, beliefs and ways of thinking. So the difference between society and culture is clear. Without culture there is no society, there is no community there is no culture

Abstract

The basis The foundation for children's future language proficiency and overall academic success is established through teaching English to young learners (TEYL), which is a critical aspect of primary education. This study investigates the effectiveness of Jerome Bruner's scaffolding theory in enhancing the speaking skills of primary school students. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with random sampling for pre-test and post-test assessments, the study employs a quantitative experimental methodology. The research focuses on key aspects of speaking skills: pronunciation, fluency, and accuracy. Conducted with 28 students from class 5A at SDN Karawaci Baru 2, the study applies scaffolding techniques during English language instruction to measure their impact. The results demonstrate significant improvements in the students' speaking abilities, with statistical analysis revealing a marked increase in pronunciation, fluency, and accuracy (p < 0.001). This study concludes that the scaffolding method is a valuable pedagogical approach for enhancing speaking skills in young English language learners.

Abstract

The integration of technology in education has revolutionized teaching and learning practices across various disciplines. This comprehensive review seeks to investigate the effectiveness of Google Classroom in Teaching English (ELT) by examining the existing literature, to address the need for a comprehensive understanding of its impact on language learning. In addition, this review contributes to a cumulative understanding of technology integration in language education, thus informing future research directions and pedagogical approaches. This study uses the method of systematic review for the method to apply in this paper. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of Google classroom in ELT by analyzing the literature. The results of this systematic review show that the platform is highly effective from two important aspects, namely, from the perspective of ELT and writing instruction. Teachers and educational institutions should integrate Google Classroom as one of the supporting tools in the learning process and the development of creative and effective communication and writing skills. This research also provides a new view in developing more innovative learning strategies and adjusting to the digital era that is currently developing.

Abstract

English learning relies heavily on speaking skills. However, students often face various obstacles, such as a lack of vocabulary, fear of making mistakes, and lack of confidence. This study examines the use of show-and-tell games to address these issues and improve students' speaking skills. By evaluating several journal articles published between 2018 and 2024, thirty (30) papers were identified as meeting the eligibility criteria for this study by PRISMA 2020. The results showed that the show-and-tell game effectively improved students' confidence, engagement, and comprehension skills. This activity makes learning English more fun and interactive, thus creating a more supportive and dynamic learning environment. Thus, show-and-tell games have become a very beneficial method in English learning, providing opportunities for students to learn more actively and confidently

Abstract

Technology has significantly contributed to the world of education in this information age. Podcasts are an alternative learning media to support students' listening skills. In the development of ICT, Podcasts are digital recordings that contain recordings of event programs from television, radio, and interviews using the internet. This research aims to explore podcasts' use and effectiveness in ELT. By evaluating multiple journal articles released between 2018 and 2024, eighteen (18) papers were identified that meet the eligibility criteria for the study following the PRISMA 2020. This systematic review aimed to investigate the effectiveness of podcasts in English Language Teaching (ELT). The results showed podcasts are a practical English Language Teaching (ELT) learning tool.

Abstract

Humanistic education teaches how learners, as humans, can critically understand the learning process based on the philosophical framework of their life's purpose as humans, as emphasized by Paulo Freire. This research aims to explore the concept of humanistic education according to Paulo Freire and how Paulo Freire's humanistic education fits into the perspective of Islamic education. Utilizing a library research methodology, this study requires a substantial amount of documents such as books, articles, journals, and other relevant materials. The data sources comprise primary data (fundamental data) and secondary data (supporting data). The method of analysis employed in this research is qualitative analysis. The findings reveal that Paulo Freire's humanistic education shares similarities with the concept of Islamic education, specifically in viewing education as a vessel to unleash the potential of learners toward liberation. Both humanistic education and Islamic education emphasize humanization and liberation as the focus of education, treating learners and educators as subjects in the teaching-learning process. However, the distinction lies in the broader scope of Islamic education due to its ability to integrate religious and general knowledge

Abstract

This research aims first, to determine the objectives of Islamic education management. Second, to understand the management process of Islamic education in institutions, especially Islamic institutions. Third, to find out contemporary issues in Islamic education management today. This research uses a literature review method. The steps for this research are to collect literature sources that support the research, read and analyze the literature, then process the research material into a literature study. The results of this research are first, the aim of Islamic education management is to realize an effective and efficient educational process in achieving the goals of Islamic education. In general, the objectives of Islamic education management can be categorized into two, namely: 1) forming human beings, and 2) preparing generations of Muslims. Second, the Islamic education management process includes: 1) planning, 2) organization, 3) leadership, 4) control, 5) Islamic principles, namely: the principle of monotheism, the caliphate principle, the principle of ta'awun, and the principle of ihsan. Third, contemporary issues in Islamic education management include: 1) challenges of globalization, 2) quality of teaching staff or human resources, 3) changes in curriculum, 4) learning methods that have not been innovated, 5) inadequate facilities and infrastructure, 6) financial management which is not yet transparent, 7) Lack of cooperation with other parties, and 8) funding

Abstract

Madrasahs have a strategic role in national development. Currently, madrasah education is still considered "second class" education. This is because the implementation of madrasahs still faces a number of major problems, starting from management issues and the low quality of madrasah education. This article is intended to provide an overview of the role of madrasahs in the education system in Indonesia, madrasah problems, opportunities, and challenges for madrasahs. Madrasahs have become part of the national education system. The method used in this study is a literature study by collecting secondary data from various sources of books and journals, then conducting a descriptive analysis of the data presented in detail. Various problems faced by madrasahs include education management, the gap between state and private, the quality of madrasahs, to the opportunities and challenges for madrasahs in Indonesia today

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology forces educational institutions to adapt quickly. Administrators and educational practitioners need to innovate in managing curriculum and learning to develop students' talents and interests, and ensure that graduates have competencies that are in accordance with the demands of the times. Effective learning management organizes content and activities according to students' needs while paying attention to individual differences, with a focus on developing critical thinking and managerial skills and utilizing information technology. Teachers play a key role in curriculum implementation. Effective educators are able to apply and assess curriculum intuitively. Curriculum development can be spontaneous and reflective, involving the experiences and reflections of curriculum developers. The balance between various curriculum models is important, and the socio-political context of the school must also be considered to improve the quality of education. This study examines the development of curriculum management and learning at the Minhajussalikin Islamic Boarding School, Banyuwangi. The curriculum at Minhajussalikin combines national standards with elements of Islamic education, aiming to produce students who are experts in science and religion. This study answers two main questions: the principles of curriculum management and learning development, and its implementation at Minhajussalikin. The findings are expected to provide insights for educational practitioners. The methodology used is a case study with a qualitative approach, collecting data through interviews and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman qualitative analysis model, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that Minhajussalikin has succeeded in integrating Islamic values with modern educational practices to develop students who are balanced and contribute positively to society.

Abstract

Teacher discipline is one of the key factors in creating an effective and quality educational environment. Without good discipline, the learning process in madrasahs can be disrupted, so that educational goals are not achieved optimally. Various studies show that teacher discipline has a significant effect on student achievement and learning quality. Therefore, managerial strategies implemented by madrasah principals are crucial in improving teacher discipline. This research uses a qualitative approach, the research design used is a case study. The research subjects consisted of madrasah principals, teachers, and administrative staff who have knowledge and experience related to discipline issues and managerial strategies applied. Data were collected through several techniques, including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation.Based on the research results from interviews and observations obtained by researchers, it can be said that the principal's efforts in improving teacher discipline in the field of learning evaluation can be said to be well implemented as evidenced by the implementation of evaluations that have been carried out well by all teachers. By paying attention to the research description and the results of the research findings and discussion, the general conclusion of the research is that the efforts of the madrasah principal in an effort to improve teacher discipline have been achieved in accordance with the expected goals.
