Abstract

Research on learning the limit of algebraic functions is carried out using the PIMCA model. This study aims to find out how to improve student learning outcomes in learning the limit of algebraic functions with an exhibition integrated group discussion strategy with the PIMCA model. PIMCA (Presentation, Idea Mapping, Conceptualization, and Assessment Formative) which was introduced and developed by Cosmas Poluakan. This research was conducted at the Department of Mathematics Education, Manado State University, with 21 students as respondents. From the results of data analysis, the average value of the pretest was 12.57 and the average value of the posttest was 58.57. The increase in concept understanding from Idea Mapping to Concept Maps increased by 80.71%. Student skills at the time of presentation, mastery of the material and problem solving where the average student has received a very good assessment. There is an increase in student learning outcomes. The PIMCA learning model can help students understand the correct mathematical concepts. The PIMCA learning model is a new learning model that can be used as an alternative learning model in the STEM field.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is an increase in students' learning abilities by using the Jigsaw type cooperative strategy in terms of students' initial PKN abilities in appreciating differences in class III at SDN 04 Panai Hilir, Panai Hilir District. This research is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this research were Class III students at SDN 04 Panai Hilir, Labuhanbatu Regency, with 26 students studied, with 11 male students and 15 female students. The object of this research is to improve the learning abilities of students in PKN learning, totaling 26 students. Based on the discussion and research, it can be concluded that learning outcomes increase in PKN learning material on respecting differences using the jigsaw type cooperative learning model in class III at SDN 04 Panai Hilir, Panai Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency. The average increase in students' class was 9.42 (55.58 to 65.00) from the initial test to cycle I and their classical completion increased by 26.93% (46.15% to 73.08%). The average increase in class was 15.00 (65.00 to 80.00) from cycle I to cycle II and classical completeness increased by 15.38% (73.08% to 88.46%). The students' attitudes or responses were very positive and enthusiastic in learning about Respecting Differences with the Jigsaw Cooperative strategy. This can be seen from the increase in student observation results, namely 29.16 (54.17% to 83.33%). Learning management carried out by teachers also increased from cycle I to cycle II by 20.45% (from 65.91% to 86.36%).

Abstract

This research is to provide alternative solutions to various social studies learning problems such as: learning that is still teacher centered, limited knowledge of social studies teachers in developing appropriate learning approaches and models, learning materials that are not contextual to the realities of student life, and also the low thinking ability of students. Methods classroom action research was conducted by researchers with three cycles so as to improve student learning outcomes and teacher performance. The results showed that: (1) The application of the questioning strategy changed the process and results of social studies learning from the condition of students who had low interest in learning; (2) The strategy of asking questions with the help of audio-visual media applies various types of questions so that the number and types of low-level and high-level questions can be balanced; (3) teachers have been able to carry out learning with good questioning strategies, so as to improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. It is hoped that the questioning strategy can be an alternative in learning to improve critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This paper aim of overcoming the weakness of students' mathematical spatial abilities in geometry. By using visual learning media, it is hoped that it can improve students' spatial abilities. As for conducting a literature review to examine how visual learning media in the form of geogebra, cabri 3D, or learning videos can improve students' spatial abilities, which are closely related to their abilities in geometry, The results of the research studies conducted are then described to present the results of implementing learning with visual media, which have an impact on increasing students' spatial abilities. By increasing students' spatial abilities, it is expected that students can fully understand geometry material. In addition, increasing students' spatial abilities is expected to foster students' motivation in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of learning history that has been carried out so far is still very conventional with a style of learning; namely: (1) learning is still teacher centered, does not involve students, (2) the limited knowledge of history teachers in developing student- centered learning approaches and models. This study uses classroom action research, with the aim of improving student learning outcomes and teacher performance. The results of this study include; (1) The application of this questioning technique changes the process and learning outcomes, the initial conditions for learning at MAN Sengkol Pujut so far still use Teacher- centered and students are not yet as learning subjects. The results of learning history are decreasing and students' interest in learning history is low. (2) the questioning technique carried out by partner teachers, namely in the application of the types of questions made through good planning, so that the number and types of questions asked by partner teachers, from low-level and high-level questions are balanced and carried out continuously, (3) partner teachers can carry out learning with good questioning techniques, (4) able to improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen by increasing the average value of students after using the questioning technique. Thus the questioning technique can be used as an alternative in learning history to improve student learning outcomes both in the process and in the form of results or scores

Abstract

Mathematical problem solving can be done with four stages, namely understanding the problem, making a plan, executing a plan and looking back. The purpose of this paper is to describe the process of looking back at mathematical problem solving using the wolframalpha website. The results showed that re- examining can be done in various ways including asking teachers, asking friends who are mathematically higher or using technology. One technology that can be used as a tool to check back is the Wolframalpha application.

Abstract

In the learning process, how to provide material that does not can cause students to get less information about material, lack of understanding of concepts and difficulty solving problems such as training provided, thus causing low learning outcomes. Study on learning the SPLTV material matrix with the Optimization of the Presentation Stage based on MR (Multiple Representation) aims to enable student to obtain material information provided, can master the concept of material, and solve problems such as sample questions and can find out improvement of student learning outcomes. By using the PIMCA model which divided into 4 steps, namely Presentation, Idea Mapping, Conceptualization, Formative Assessment. This research was conducted in the Department of Mathematics with respondents 22 students. From the results of the calculation of the data obtained the average score pretest 6 and the average posttest score 65. Also obtained the average percentage an increase in understanding of the concept of 82,67 as a result there is an increase in understanding the concept so that the Optimization Stage is obtained PIMCA In SPLTV Material Matrix Learning, there is a improvement of learning outcomes and this model can also be an alternative in selection of learning models and can be continued in the STEM field.

Abstract

Learning activities are not as usual due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With several reasons that become shortcomings and limitations for carrying out teaching and learning, the handling of this pandemic makes students have to study online. This study was conducted to determine whether there were differences in student outcomes in online and offline SPLDV materials during the new order. The data for this study used samples from class VIIIA and B of SMP Negeri 4 Tondano. The instrument used is an essay test which is carried out online and offline at different times and places and documentation. From the data analysis of the research results, the average posttest results obtained by the experimental class was 80.46 while for the control class it was 76.26. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test at the real level =0.05, it was obtained tcount=1,757 and ttable=t((0,05.45))=1,679. Because thitung=1,757 and ttabel=t((0,05.45))=1,679 the statistic value falls in the critical area, so reject H0 and accept H1. It can be concluded that there are differences in student learning outcomes in the SPLDV material which is carried out online and offline.
