Abstract

This study aims to examine the forms of adaptation of local religious traditions in the face of globalisation and its impact on the cultural and religious identity of the community. Using a literature review method, this study analyses various literature discussing the dynamics of change, influencing factors, and strategies for preserving religious traditions amid the challenges of modernisation and globalisation. The results of the study indicate that the adaptation of local religious traditions is carried out through ritual modifications, the use of digital technology, innovations in presentation, and the integration of more universal religious values. This adaptation process is influenced by factors such as education, media, cultural interaction, the role of the younger generation, and government policy support. Although there is a risk of shifting meanings and authenticity of traditions, adaptation carried out wisely and participatively has proven to be able to preserve traditions while strengthening the cultural and spiritual identity of the community. This study recommends the importance of cross-sector collaboration and the involvement of the younger generation in efforts to preserve local religious traditions so that they remain relevant and contribute positively in the era of globalisation.

Abstract

Cyberbullying is one of the main challenges in schools in the digital age, where technological advances and the widespread use of social media have expanded the space for bullying among students. This phenomenon has a significant impact on students' mental health, academic achievement, and social well-being, with victims often experiencing psychological distress, anxiety, and even depression. This study uses a literature review method to identify forms of cyberbullying, its causes, and analyse effective prevention and intervention strategies in schools. The findings indicate that prevention efforts can be implemented through digital literacy education, character building, parental involvement, and the creation of a safe and inclusive school culture. Meanwhile, effective interventions involve psychological support, counselling services, and collaboration between schools, families, and digital platforms. With integrated and collaborative strategies, it is hoped that cases of cyberbullying in schools can be minimised, thereby creating a healthy learning environment that supports the optimal development of students in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of integrating video blogs (vlogs) into English Language Teaching (ELT) to enhance students' speaking abilities. A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA framework, analyzing articles published between 2020 and 2025 from databases such as Google Scholar and Publish or Perish. The study investigates how vlogs influence students' speaking confidence and fluency, the challenges they encounter in utilizing vlogs for language learning, and instructional strategies that can optimize vlog-based learning. The results reveal that vlogging fosters self-efficacy, vocabulary acquisition, and independent learning while promoting a collaborative and student-centered environment. Additionally, topic-based vlogs have been found to enhance students' grammar and confidence in speaking. However, challenges such as informal language use, technological limitations, and digital competence barriers remain prevalent. The findings of this study suggest that while vlogs contribute positively to speaking skill development, educators must address content quality, technological accessibility, and students' adaptation to digital learning tools to maximize their effectiveness in ELT.

Abstract

Grammar games have become widely adopted in English Language Teaching (ELT) to enhance students' grammatical competence through engaging and interactive approaches. This study systematically reviews existing literature on the effectiveness of grammar games by analyzing their application, benefits, and overall impact. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, data were collected from Taylor & Francis, PubMed, and Mendeley databases. From an initial pool of 102 articles, 14 met the eligibility criteria, with nine included in the final analysis through the PRISMA framework. The findings demonstrate that grammar games significantly enhance student motivation, participation, and mastery of grammar. Tools like Kahoot!, Duolingo, Quizizz, and traditional games contribute to a more student-centered environment. Challenges such as time constraints and off-focus behavior were noted. The study recommends further research into long-term effects and the integration of grammar games into complex grammar instruction.

Abstract

This study explores the pedagogical practices and support systems surrounding English language teaching for students with special needs in Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB), with a focus on two experienced teachers in Gorontalo City. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, capturing insights from teachers instructing students with diverse disabilities, including visual, hearing, intellectual, physical, and developmental impairments. The findings indicate that teachers adapt lesson plans, design their own modules, and employ multimodal resources such as flashcards, posters, videos, and educational applications. Instruction is personalized based on initial assessments to align with each student's abilities. However, challenges persist, notably the lack of specialized training in English teaching for students with disabilities, inconsistent parental involvement, and limited collaboration with external educational stakeholders. While institutional support—such as policy provisions and instructional materials—is evident, external partnerships remain underdeveloped. The study underscores the need for systemic interventions, including targeted professional development, strengthened home-school collaboration, and inter-agency cooperation to ensure inclusive and effective English language education for learners with special needs.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, English language proficiency has become increasingly essential, leading to the adoption of innovative learning methods such as podcasts. This study explores the role of podcasts in enhancing English proficiency through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of academic sources published within the last five years. Using the PRISMA framework, 36 studies from 2020 to 2025 were analyzed from ResearchGate and Google Scholar. Articles were selected based on their relevance, research methods, and key findings on the impact of podcasts in English language learning. The results indicate that podcasts significantly enhance listening, speaking, and writing skills, improve vocabulary acquisition, and deepen cultural understanding. Additionally, they positively impact student motivation, provide flexible and accessible learning opportunities, and encourage active engagement. Podcasts are particularly effective in self-directed learning, allowing students to access content at their convenience, making them a valuable tool in technology-driven education. Furthermore, integrating podcasts into English curricula and training educators to maximize their use can enhance learning experiences and outcomes. These findings suggest that podcasts serve as an engaging and effective medium for language acquisition, fostering independent learning and improving overall proficiency. Therefore, their incorporation into modern teaching strategies is crucial for optimizing English language education.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of digital technology in promoting transparency, accountability, and public participation through the disclosure of information. The form of this research is descriptive, analytical, and critical. Therefore, the author can comprehensively explain how Public Information Access in the Digital Era: An Evaluative Study of Policies and Implementation Practices. In this study, the author optimally utilized two data sources related to the research, namely primary and secondary data sources. The results of this study show that the Public information access policy has progressed normatively, characterized by the presence of regulations such as the Public Information Disclosure Law (Law No. 14 of 2008) and various derivative rules that support the public's right to information. The use of digital technology by public institutions is increasingly widespread, primarily through official websites, social media, and digital services (e-government). However, the quality and consistency of implementation vary significantly between institutions and regions. The level of public information disclosure remains uneven, with some institutions tending to be passive or unproactive in delivering information periodically or in response to public requests. The main obstacles in the implementation of digital information disclosure include a lack of human resource capacity, weak digital infrastructure, and low digital awareness and literacy among officials and the public. Public participation has increased significantly in the digital age; however, it has not been matched by a prompt and accurate response from public institutions to public requests or criticisms. The mechanism for addressing complaints and resolving information disputes remains suboptimal, particularly at the regional level, resulting in the public's right to information often being partially fulfilled. Digital technology has great potential to support the democratization of information. Still, it requires a political commitment, institutional capacity building, and public education to ensure that access to information is genuinely practical, inclusive, and participatory.
