Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah on the open unemployment rate in Indonesia. Using a descriptive quantitative method, the study collects secondary data consisting of zakat, infak, and sadaqah distribution from the National Zakat Management Agency's national zakat management report and data on the percentage of open unemployment rates per province in Indonesia from the Regional Profile and Analysis website managed by the National Development Planning Agency over the past five years, specifically the period from 2020 to 2024. This study uses WarpPLS software version 6.0 to analyze the previously collected data. The results of this study indicate that Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah have a positive and significant impact on the open unemployment rate. An increase in Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah leads to an increase in the open unemployment rate. Based on these findings, all relevant parties—including zakat management bodies, government agencies, and other stakeholders—are encouraged to develop more efficient strategies to reduce unemployment in Indonesia, both through long-term and short-term programs.

Abstract

Since 2019, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck Indonesia, the pandemic has also affected visitor numbers at the Gedong Arca Archaeological Museum. In 2019, the museum began experiencing a significant decline in visits. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic began to subside and the government officially lifted the PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) policy in 2022, visitor numbers to the Gedong Arca Museum started to rise and have continued to increase ever since. Based on this background, the research problems addressed in this study are: (1) tourists’ perceptions of heritage tourism at the Gedong Arca Museum in Bedulu Village, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency; (2) the management of heritage tourism at the Gedong Arca Museum in Bedulu Village, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period; and (3) the implications of heritage tourism management at the Gedong Arca Museum in Bedulu Village, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency after the COVID-19 pandemic on tourists and the local community. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method, employing two theoretical frameworks: tourism management theory and symbolic interactionism theory. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The data were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. Based on the perceptions of both tourists and the local community, the existence of the Gedong Arca Museum is viewed positively, particularly in terms of its collections of historical artifacts, available facilities, and the quality of staff services. The museum's presence has had a broadly positive impact on both tourists and the local community, particularly in the aspects of religious and social life, environmental awareness, socio-cultural dynamics, and the local economy.

Abstract

Proposal is a process conducted prior to marriage with the aim of establishing a matchmaking relationship between a man and a woman. In Payaman Village, Solokuro Subdistrict, Lamongan Regency, and Gandusari Village, Gandusari Subdistrict, Trenggalek Regency, there is a unique tradition where women propose to men. This tradition is rooted in customs passed down by religious and community leaders from generation to generation. This study aims to understand the implementation of this tradition, along with the perspectives of Islamic law and local wisdom related to the practice. The research method used is qualitative, with interviews conducted with religious and community figures involved in the practice. Theoretical and discussion sections must examine the religious arguments demonstrating that this tradition does not violate Islamic law. This tradition has an impact on strengthening women's roles, balancing power, improving communication, enhancing marriage quality, and enabling social adjustment. The results of the study show that the tradition of women proposing to men is based on long-standing customary practices preserved by the local community and, most importantly, does not violate Islamic law.

Abstract

Firm value in the capital market is reflected in stock prices, which represent investors' perceptions of a company's success and performance. This study aims to examine the effect of capital structure, company growth, and profitability on firm value, as well as the moderating role of dividend policy. The data used are secondary data in the form of financial statements of manufacturing sector companies obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (www.idx.com) for the 2021–2023 period. Out of 65 companies, 56 were selected as samples using simple random sampling. The analytical method employed is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicate that capital structure has a negative and significant effect on firm value, company growth has a positive and significant effect, and profitability has a negative and significant effect. Furthermore, dividend policy is found to strengthen the influence of capital structure and profitability on firm value, while weakening the effect of company growth on firm value. These findings highlight the importance of effective capital structure management, growth strategies, and appropriate dividend policies in enhancing firm value from the investors’ perspective.

Abstract

The construction of the Tuban Oil Refinery, which is included in the National Strategic Project (PSN), has a significant impact on the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the community around the project site, especially Wadung and Sumurgeneng Villages. This article aims to analyze the dynamics of people's lives after land acquisition and evaluate the effectiveness of the recovery program implemented by PT Pertamina. The research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach by collecting data through document studies, interviews, and field observations. The results of the study show that land acquisition has a positive impact on some land-owning farmers who receive considerable financial compensation, but it creates vulnerability for farm workers, smallholders, and ranchers who lose their source of livelihood and do not receive direct compensation. The recovery of people's lives is analyzed based on five types of assets: human, natural, social, physical, and financial. PT Pertamina responds to this impact through CSR programs such as relocation, job training, educational scholarships, and environmental and social programs for the surrounding community. While there has been an increase in physical and financial assets in some groups, long-term recovery requires sustained support and local community-based adaptive policies. This article recommends the need for integration between land acquisition, livelihood protection, and community capacity building in nation-scale development projects.

Abstract

Tista Tourist Village in Tabanan Regency, Bali, is a cultural tourism destination rich in traditions and arts, one of which is the Andir Dance. This sacred dance holds significant spiritual value. Within the context of cultural tourism development, the Andir Dance faces a major challenge: how to preserve its sacredness while also utilizing it as a tourist attraction. This study aims to analyze the preservation strategies of the Andir Dance to support sustainable cultural tourism development in Tista Tourist Village. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques involving in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The study focuses on understanding the reasons behind the community’s effort to preserve the Andir Dance, the challenges faced, and the strategies employed to maintain its existence within the realm of cultural tourism. The results indicate that the Andir Dance has significant potential as a unique cultural tourism attraction; however, the primary challenges include limited dancer regeneration, insufficient documentation, and the underdevelopment of the village’s tourism infrastructure. A SWOT analysis suggests that preservation strategies should combine strengthening the local artistic community, cultural digitization, and enhancing human resource capacity and village tourism management. Preservation efforts must also balance maintaining the sacred values of the dance while remaining open to the tourism market.

Abstract

Grammar games have become an effective pedagogical tool in teaching English, providing an engaging and interactive alternative to traditional grammar instruction. This systematic review uses the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) framework. Findings from 11 empirical studies published between 2019-2024, sourced from ScienceDirect (5), Mendeley (3), PubMed (3). explores the role of grammar games in enhancing English language skills, particularly in improving grammar comprehension, motivation, and retention among learners. By analyzing previous research, this study highlights the advantages of both digital and traditional grammar games in fostering student engagement and active participation. Findings indicate that grammar games promote meaningful learning experiences, reduce anxiety, and encourage collaborative learning. Additionally, integrating gamification elements, such as rewards and challenges, enhances learners' motivation and overall language proficiency. While digital games offer instant feedback and personalized learning paths, traditional games provide face-to-face communication and kinesthetic learning opportunities. The study concludes that combining digital and conventional grammar games can optimize grammar instruction, making language learning more effective and enjoyable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of effective communication skills in the work readiness experience of students in the Office Administration Education Study Program (PAP) of the State University of Jakarta (UNJ). Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis from final semester students and/or those with internship experience. The results of the study indicate that mastery of oral, written, active listening, and non-verbal communication significantly contributes to students' work readiness. Oral communication is crucial for professional interactions, while written communication is essential for the accuracy of administrative documents. Active listening and empathy skills support understanding instructions and building relationships. Furthermore, overall communication competency increases students' self-confidence and adaptability in the work environment. The implications of these findings emphasize the need for the UNJ PAP Study Program to strengthen the curriculum and learning practices that focus on developing holistic communication skills through real-world simulations and constructive feedback, in order to produce graduates who are not only technically competent but also resilient and adaptive.
