Abstract

The transition toward renewable energy requires not only technological development but also improvement in human resource literacy, particularly in understanding solar power systems. This community service activity aimed to enhance renewable energy literacy through socialization of Solar Power Plant (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya/PLTS) at PT. PLN Nusantara Power. The program was conducted on 8–9 October 2024 and involved 15 employees as participants. The implementation method consisted of three main stages: preparation, socialization, and evaluation. The socialization stage was carried out over two sessions, focusing on basic concepts of solar energy and technical aspects of PLTS, including system components and grid integration. Knowledge improvement was measured using pre-test and post-test instruments based on key literacy indicators. The results showed a consistent increase in participants’ understanding across all indicators, indicating the effectiveness of the structured and interactive learning approach. The discussion-based method also encouraged active participation and contextual understanding related to workplace applications. Overall, the program successfully improved participants’ renewable energy literacy and strengthened their awareness of solar energy utilization in power generation systems.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve renewable energy literacy, particularly Wind Power Plants (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Bayu/PLTB), among employees of PT. PLN Nusantara Power. The program was conducted on May 17–18, 2025, involving 15 participants from the electricity generation operational environment. The implementation method consisted of preparation, two socialization sessions, a focus group discussion (FGD), and evaluation through pre-test and post-test assessments. The materials covered basic wind energy concepts, PLTB working principles, system components, development potential in Indonesia, and implementation aspects within power systems. The results indicated an increase in participants’ understanding, reflected in higher post-test scores compared to pre-test results. In addition, the FGD results showed that participants were able to identify opportunities, challenges, and implementation strategies for PLTB in their work environment. This activity demonstrates that an educational and participatory approach is effective in improving understanding and enhancing analytical thinking regarding renewable energy topics.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged innovation in occupational safety training methods, including the use of Virtual Reality (VR) as an interactive learning medium. This community service activity aimed to improve participants’ understanding of creating and implementing three-dimensional Virtual Reality for safety induction at PT. PLN Nusantara. The program was conducted on 12–13 November 2025 and involved 15 participants. The implementation stages included preparation, material socialization, practical training on 3D VR simulation development, and evaluation. During the practical session, participants learned to create simple virtual objects, design safety simulation environments, and operate VR devices to display interactive simulations. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of Virtual Reality concepts, VR device operation, and the implementation of digital-based safety induction media. The use of VR provided a more engaging and realistic learning experience compared to conventional methods. This activity is expected to become an initial step toward the development of technology-based occupational safety training media in industrial environments.

Abstract

Condensate produced in PLTMG operations may create puddles, reduce workplace cleanliness, and increase accident risks if not properly managed. This community service activity aimed to improve workers’ understanding of condensate management to support safety and environmental cleanliness at PLTMG Bangkanai. The program was conducted on 15–16 April 2026 involving 10 workers. The implementation method consisted of four stages: preparation, material delivery, field assistance, and evaluation. The training focused on understanding condensate hazards and safe handling procedures, while field assistance ensured proper implementation in the operational area. The results showed improved worker awareness in area inspection, puddle handling, and reporting coordination. Overall, the activity positively enhanced workers’ understanding and behavior in maintaining a safer and cleaner operational environment

Abstract

Mosques are not only religious spaces but also public facilities that require environmentally sustainable management, particularly in the provision of ablution facilities. However, many mosque ablution areas in Indonesia still experience problems related to water inefficiency, lack of user comfort, and limited implementation of environmentally friendly technology. This community service activity aimed to assist in the development of an eco-friendly hot and cold water ablution facility at Masjid Nurul Muttaqin in order to improve worship comfort, water efficiency, and environmental awareness among the congregation. The program employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing active community participation in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and analyzed qualitatively and descriptively. The results demonstrated that the installation of the hot and cold water system significantly improved the comfort and satisfaction of worshippers, particularly elderly users, while the environmentally friendly water management system contributed to reducing water waste and strengthening collective awareness regarding sustainable resource use. Furthermore, the participatory approach fostered a strong sense of ownership among mosque members, which supported the sustainability of the program.

Abstract

The BERES (Efficient, Friendly, and Low Emission) Rocket Stove innovation is presented as a solution for managing inorganic waste that emphasizes combustion efficiency and environmental friendliness with minimal smoke emissions. This study aims to develop and test the performance of the BERES Rocket Stove in processing inorganic waste using an optimal combustion method so as to reduce waste volume while minimizing the impact of air pollution. The research method includes designing a prototype stove with a special configuration to ensure perfect combustion, followed by testing fuel efficiency and measuring combustion gas emissions using gas analysis equipment. The results show that the BERES Rocket Stove is capable of burning inorganic waste efficiently with lower fuel consumption compared to conventional stoves. In addition, the smoke emissions produced also decreased significantly, thus having a positive impact on the surrounding air quality. This innovation not only facilitates the management of inorganic waste at the household and small community levels, but also provides an economical and easy-to-implement environmentally friendly alternative solution. In conclusion, the BERES Rocket Stove has the potential to be an appropriate technology for effective, efficient, and sustainable inorganic waste management with minimal air pollution. This study recommends further development and widespread implementation of this technology to support waste management and environmental conservation programs

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Human Capital and Work Discipline on Employee Performance at the National Narcotics Board of North Sumatra Province (BNNP Sumut) for the 2019–2024 period. The method employed is explanatory quantitative, with a sample of 54 respondents (organic civil servants). Data were collected through Likert scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression via SPSS. The t-test results indicate that Human Capital has a positive and significant effect on performance (t-count 3.991 > 1.984; sig 0.000), while Work Discipline has a positive but non-significant effect. Simultaneously (F-test), both variables significantly influence performance (F-count 10.798 > 3.18; sig 0.000). An R-Square value of 0.297 indicates that Human Capital and Work Discipline contribute 29.7% to employee performance, while the remaining 70.3% is influenced by other factors outside this study.
