Abstract

This study examines Pidgin and Creole languages, exploring their historical development, linguistic characteristics, societal roles, and future prospects. These languages emerged in contexts of trade, colonization, and migration, serving as tools of communication between speakers of different native languages. Over time, they evolved into complex linguistic systems that encapsulate the cultural and historical interactions of their communities. The research underscores the significance of Pidgin and Creole languages in fostering social inclusion, preserving cultural identity, and bridging communication gaps in multilingual societies. Despite their practical and cultural importance, these languages have often been stigmatized and marginalized due to perceptions of inferiority. However, increasing advocacy and recognition highlight their linguistic richness and their role in maintaining cultural diversity. The study identifies key challenges, including language endangerment, lack of institutional support, and the dominance of global languages, which threaten their survival. At the same time, it emphasizes their potential for revitalization through documentation, education, and integration into modern domains such as digital media and creative industries. By addressing these challenges and promoting greater societal acceptance, Pidgin and Creole languages can continue to thrive as vital components of global linguistic and cultural heritage. The findings reinforce the importance of valuing linguistic diversity and ensuring these languages are preserved and celebrated for future generations.

Abstract

In this study, our focus is to understand Wahbah Zuhaili's views on hadith and hadith science, relating them to the lives of Muslims. Hadith, as the source of Islamic law, is the center of attention as the words and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Hadith, which studies the origin and criteria of hadith, is essential in the understanding of religion. This research is important because hadith and the science of hadith play a vital role in the lives of Muslims, including in the fields of law, ethics, and general view. Our research method involves the collection of literature and the analysis of Zuhaili's texts. Zuhaili's literature related to hadith and hadith science is compiled and analyzed to reveal his perspective. The results of the study show that Zuhaili emphasized the importance of hadith as a source of law that needs to be understood by Muslims, especially the younger generation. Hadith science, according to him, plays a key role in helping Muslims memorize, appreciate, and absorb the teachings of the hadith inherited by the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Abstract

Mediation as a method of resolving medical disputes resulting from minor breaches by health workers offers an effective and efficient approach compared to litigation. The mediation process allows for an open dialogue between the patient and the health worker in a neutral setting facilitated by a mediator. It helps identify key issues and seek mutually beneficial solutions in a faster and cost-effective manner. Another advantage of mediation is that it preserves the confidentiality and reputation of both parties, and focuses on recovery and repair rather than punishment. Thus, mediation not only resolves disputes but also helps improve the relationship between patients and health workers and promotes improved quality of healthcare.

Abstract

This study examines the use of African-American slang in the episode "Dueling Hats" from the comedy sketch Key & Peele, which aired on July 16, 2009. The research aims to understand the function and meaning of slang usage in social communication, particularly as a marker of identity and solidarity within the African-American community. The method used is a qualitative descriptive analysis with Miles and Huberman's (1992) data analysis techniques, involving data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The analysis results show that slang in dialogue not only functions as everyday communication tools but also as strong cultural identity symbols. The use of words like "yo," "cuz," and "dog" reflects closeness and solidarity, reducing social and emotional distance between individuals. Slang also enables more efficient and rapid communication. The use of slang in this context creates a special communication code that reinforces a sense of membership and togetherness within the African- American community. This study contributes to understanding the complexity and richness of African-American culture through slang, as well as highlighting the importance of language in forming and maintaining social relationships. The findings are expected to enhance insights in sociolinguistics and media analysis studies.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is one of the main causes of death in urban areas, which is triggered by unhealthy lifestyles, including unbalanced diets. The Mediterranean diet has been known as a dietary approach that is rich in healthy fats, fiber and antioxidants which play a role in maintaining heart health. However, its effectiveness in reducing cholesterol levels and improving cardiovascular health in urban communities still needs to be studied further. This research uses a systematic literature review method by analyzing various journals and scientific articles from trusted databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar over the last 10 years. The collected data was analyzed thematically and comparatively to evaluate the impact of the Mediterranean diet on LDL, HDL cholesterol levels and the risk of cardiovascular disease. Studies show that the Mediterranean diet significantly lowers LDL levels, increases HDL levels, and reduces the risk of atherosclerosis. Additionally, this diet has been shown to be effective in reducing inflammation and improving blood vessel function, which contributes to a reduced risk of heart disease. Large studies such as PREDIMED support these findings by showing a 30% reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease in individuals who adopt a Mediterranean diet. However, its implementation in urban areas faces challenges such as limited time, access to healthy food ingredients, and different eating habits. The Mediterranean diet has been proven to be beneficial in maintaining cardiovascular health and lowering cholesterol levels, making it an effective dietary strategy for urban communities. However, flexible adaptation is needed by considering the availability of local food ingredients and the lifestyle of urban communities so that this diet can be implemented sustainably.

Abstract

Work stress is the main challenge faced by health workers in hospitals due to the high workload, demands for professionalism, and emotional pressure in treating patients. This research aims to analyze the influence of work stress on the physical and mental health of health workers through a literature review from various academic sources in the last 5- 10 years. The method used is a systematic literature review by examining scientific journals, books and research reports that discuss work stress among health workers. The results of the study show that work stress has a negative impact on the physical health of health workers, including chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, increased risk of cardiovascular disease, digestive disorders, and a decrease in the immune system. Meanwhile, the impact on mental health includes burnout, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders which can reduce the quality of life and performance of health workers. Several factors such as high workloads, lack of social support, and imbalance between work and personal life exacerbate the impact of work stress. On the other hand, social support, good coping strategies, and supportive organizational policies can weaken the negative impact. Thus, a comprehensive strategy is needed to manage the work stress of health workers, both through institutional policies and individual approaches, in order to maintain their well-being and ensure optimal health services for patients.

Abstract

Online video platforms have changed the way information is consumed and communication is conducted in the digital age. The ease of access and variety of content allows users to gain knowledge from multiple perspectives, transcending the limitations of traditional media. Video as a communication medium enhances visual and auditory message delivery, making it more effective and immersive. However, the adoption of this platform also poses challenges such as the spread of hoaxes and a potential decrease in time for other activities. Therefore, users need to be more selective in filtering information and balancing online video consumption time with other activities for healthy digital wellbeing.
