Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of modern society. Behind its benefits, social media also presents various problems, including cyberbullying and body shaming. Both of these phenomena can have a negative impact on victims, both physically and mentally. This journal aims to examine Islamic ethics in social media, focusing on the phenomenon of cyberbullying and body shaming. The study is conducted by analyzing the verses of the Qur'an and Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW that are relevant to the ethics of communication and social interaction. The results show that Islam has clear ethical principles related to the use of social media. These principles emphasize noble morals, mutual respect, and maintaining privacy. Cyberbullying and body shaming are clearly against Islamic ethics because they hurt and degrade others. This journal also provides recommendations to prevent cyberbullying and body shaming on social media, such as increasing education about Islamic ethics, encouraging a culture of mutual respect, and strengthening regulations related to cyberbullying and body shaming.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an important aspect of child development that influences their success in various aspects of life. This study examines the influence of social interaction and environment on the development of children's emotional intelligence from a developmental psychology perspective. Through a literature review and analysis of various empirical studies, it was found that positive social interaction and a supportive environment play a significant role in shaping and improving children's emotional intelligence. Factors such as parenting patterns, the quality of relationships with peers, and the school climate have a substantial impact on children's ability to recognise, understand, and manage emotions. The results of the study indicate that emotional intelligence can be trained and developed through appropriate interventions and the creation of a conducive environment. The implications of these findings emphasise the importance of collaboration between families, schools, and communities in supporting the development of children's emotional intelligence, as well as opening opportunities for further research on effective strategies to enhance children's emotional intelligence through social interaction and environmental modification.

Abstract

Public administration reform aims to create a professional, efficient, and service-oriented bureaucracy. However, in its implementation, bureaucratic modernization often ignores local cultural values that have long been guidelines for work ethics, including for Civil Servants (PNS). This study examines the revitalization of cultural values in public administration reform, focusing on PNS in Gorontalo. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where data are collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that local cultural values of mutual cooperation, honesty, and the principle of harmony between customs, social norms, and religion still influence the work ethic of PNS in Gorontalo. However, the implementation of these values faces challenges in a bureaucratic system that increasingly prioritizes administrative procedures and compliance with formal regulations. Several factors that hinder cultural revitalization in public administration include rigid bureaucratic structures, lack of culture-based training, and low integration of cultural values in institutional policies. This study recommends a strategy for revitalizing cultural values in public administration reform, including through strengthening local wisdom-based training, developing culture-oriented leadership, and aligning regulations with the social values of society. With this approach, it is hoped that a bureaucracy can be formed that is not only modern and efficient, but also more inclusive, humanistic, and rooted in local cultural values.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the dynamics of agrarian reform policies in post-transmigration program locations in North Gorontalo Regency using a structural approach and evaluating various indicators that influence the success of its implementation. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and policy document analysis. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify key issues and the relationships between factors affecting the successful implementation of agrarian policies in post- transmigration areas. The findings indicate that, despite the significant potential of agrarian reform policies in post-transmigration locations to improve the welfare of transmigrants, their implementation remains hindered by several substantial structural issues. The primary challenges identified include inadequate infrastructure, unclear land ownership, a lack of legal certainty regarding land rights, and weak regulatory oversight. An evaluation of income distribution reveals that the program has not yet achieved its intended goal of equitable distribution due to infrastructural challenges and land tenure uncertainties. The complexity of land ownership and tenure security is further compounded by bureaucratic inefficiencies and legal uncertainties. The limited availability of infrastructure and support facilities also constrains transmigrants' ability to enhance their livelihoods. Additionally, weak regulatory enforcement exacerbates policy implementation challenges, as poor coordination among institutions and inconsistent law enforcement hinders the program's effectiveness. This article posits the necessity for policy enhancements, encompassing enhanced planning, bureaucratic simplification, and augmented oversight capacity. These measures are intended to ensure the effective functioning of agrarian policies in post-transmigration regions, thereby achieving their objective of fostering sustainable welfare for both transmigrants and local communities.

Abstract

Increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is one of the top priorities for governments in many countries due to its crucial role in driving economic growth and development. In order to achieve this goal, effective legal strategies play an important role in creating a conducive investment environment. The research method used in this study is the literature research method. The results show that successful IALs are those that have successfully simplified their licensing procedures and adopted transparency in the regulatory process. In addition, the provision of strong legal protection of investor rights, including through intellectual property enforcement and fair and efficient dispute resolution mechanisms, has also been shown to increase foreign investor confidence. Therefore, an effective legal strategy in enhancing IAL should include a blend of process simplification, legal certainty, investor protection, and social responsibility to create an attractive investment environment for foreign investors.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of lexical cohesion through repetition in Widji Thukul's poetry anthology Aku Ingin Jadi Peluru. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, it analyzes four selected poems to uncover the types, functions, and meanings of repetition within the texts. The findings reveal the use of four types of repetition: anaphora (25%), epistrophe (25%), mesodiplosis (12.5%), and complete repetition (37.5%). Each type contributes distinctively to enhancing textual cohesion, emphasizing themes, and evoking emotional resonance. For instance, anaphora highlights resilience and societal tensions, while epistrophe underscores economic struggles and class disparities. Complete repetition, the most prominent, portrays cyclical struggles and perseverance, as seen in the repeated phrases "kuhancurkan" and "kubentuk lagi" in the poem Riwayat. Through repetition, Thukul weaves linguistic artistry with ideological critique, transforming his poetry into a medium of resistance and social advocacy. This study expands the understanding of repetition in poetry, offering insights into its aesthetic and rhetorical functions, and invites future research into its applications across cultures and literary genres.
