Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the most important aspects of child development. Some challenges include children's inability to imitate or repeat simple sentences, their inability to use many words to express their desires or tell stories, and their shyness in speaking in public due to a limited vocabulary. These speaking skills must be continuously honed and stimulated, which can be developed through storytelling based on local wisdom and finger puppets. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of storytelling based on local wisdom and finger puppets on the speaking skills of 4-5-year-old children at Little Muslims Kindergarten. This was an experimental study using a one-group pre-test-posttest design. The population was 57 children. Purposive sampling was used to select 13 children from Class A2. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation. The research instrument used was an observation sheet in accordance with the observation guide. Data analysis techniques included normality tests and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of the study showed that Thitung > Ttabel, namely 26,388 > 2.178, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of local wisdom-based storytelling with finger puppet media on the speaking ability of children aged 4-5 years at Little Muslims Kindergarten.

Abstract

The role of teachers in education is crucial, as a nation's progress depends on their influence. The nation's future generations need quality education through a robust education system and competent teachers. The purpose of this study is to measure the impact of Canva on student concentration and to provide recommendations for appropriate digital media implementation for teachers to make the learning process more effective, engaging, and able to improve the quality of student attention and overall learning outcomes. This study utilized a library research method with a qualitative approach. Data analysis techniques employed were data analysis. Canva can be used as an alternative medium during digital learning that is relevant to supporting the improvement of elementary school students' concentration, particularly in science and science learning.

Abstract

Nowadays, digital technology is advancing so quickly that gadgets have become a normal part of everyday life, even for young children in elementary school. According to data from the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association, internet usage among kids aged 5 to 12 years has been steadily rising. The core issue is that when children use gadgets too often without anyone watching over them, their ability to concentrate may suffer and their school performance may drop. The goal of this study is to examine how gadget use affects both the concentration and academic results of elementary school students. This research uses a library study approach with qualitative methods. Information was gathered by reviewing various academic sources such as journals and books. The data were then analyzed using qualitative content analysis, which involves reducing the data, presenting it, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that gadget use has two different sides. On the positive side, gadgets make it easier for students to access digital learning materials. On the negative side, using gadgets excessively without supervision tends to lower concentration and reduce learning outcomes because students spend less time on effective studying. The consequences include falling grades and becoming dependent on gadgets. In conclusion, gadgets are not automatically harmful. It all depends on how they are used and how much guidance children receive from their parents and teachers.

Abstract

Early reading skills are one of the most important aspects of a child's development. Some challenges include difficulty distinguishing between similar letters, not being able to use many words to express their desires or tell stories, and shyness in speaking in public due to a limited vocabulary. These early reading skills must be continuously honed and stimulated, which can be developed through the use of smart wheels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using smart wheels on the early reading skills of children aged 5-6 years at Shekinah Kids Special School in Jambi City. This was an experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population was 47 children. Purposive sampling was used, selecting 12 children from class B1. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation. The research instrument used was an observation sheet in accordance with the observation guide. Data analysis techniques included normality tests and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of the study showed that Thitung > Ttabel, namely 16,096 > 2,200, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an Effect of Using Smart Wheel Media on the Beginning Reading Ability of Children Aged 5-6 Years at SPS Shekinah Kids, Jambi City

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebijakan pendidikan dalam mewujudkan pemerataan akses dan peningkatan mutu pendidikan di SMP Negeri 1 Bangilan. Fokus penelitian meliputi implementasi kebijakan sekolah terkait sistem penerimaan peserta didik, peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran, penyediaan sarana dan prasarana pendidikan, serta program bantuan bagi siswa kurang mampu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekolah telah melaksanakan kebijakan pendidikan yang selaras dengan regulasi pemerintah, khususnya dalam memperluas akses pendidikan melalui sistem zonasi dan program bantuan pendidikan. Selain itu, upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikan dilakukan melalui pengembangan kompetensi guru, penerapan kurikulum, serta kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang mendukung prestasi akademik dan nonakademik siswa. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat beberapa kendala, seperti keterbatasan sarana prasarana, perbedaan kemampuan belajar siswa, dan perlunya evaluasi kebijakan yang lebih optimal. Secara keseluruhan, implementasi kebijakan pendidikan di sekolah tersebut memberikan kontribusi positif dalam menciptakan pendidikan yang lebih merata dan berkualitas. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kerja sama antara sekolah, pemerintah, guru, orang tua, dan masyarakat sangat diperlukan guna mendukung efektivitas serta keberlanjutan kebijakan pendidikan. Temuan penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya penguatan sistem monitoring dan evaluasi kebijakan secara berkala agar setiap program dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan riil di lapangan. Rekomendasi yang diajukan mencakup peningkatan alokasi anggaran untuk sarana prasarana, pelatihan berkelanjutan bagi guru, serta penguatan peran komite sekolah dan masyarakat dalam mendukung program pendidikan. Dengan demikian, kebijakan pendidikan tidak hanya bersifat administratif, tetapi benar-benar menjadi instrumen transformasi mutu dan akses yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Facilities and infrastructure management is one of the important factors in improving the quality of education in schools. This study aims to describe the implementation of facilities and infrastructure management from the perspective of Islamic education in realizing a quality school at SMP Negeri 4 Simpangkatis. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal, teachers, and administrative staff. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, date presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the management of facilities and infrastructure was carried out through planning, procurement, utilization, maintenance, and supervision of school facilities. The implementation reflected Islamic educational values such as trustworthiness, deliberation, responsibility, and cleanliness, thereby supporting the creation of a conducive learning environment and the realization of a quality school.

Abstract

This study analyzes modern Arabic textbooks from the perspective of the Merdeka Curriculum. The problem addressed is the inconsistency between textbook content and the curriculum principles of flexibility, student-centered learning, contextual relevance, and differentiated instruction. This research aims to examine the suitability of textbook content, teaching approaches, assessment, and language-skill integration with the Merdeka Curriculum framework. A qualitative descriptive method with a library research and content analysis approach was employed. Data were collected through documentation and literature review of Arabic language textbooks and supporting academic references. The findings reveal that modern Arabic textbooks generally align with communicative approaches, language-skill integration, and curriculum flexibility; however, aspects of differentiated learning, HOTS-based assessment, and digital media integration remain insufficient. The study implies the need for developing more adaptive, contextual, and technology-supported teaching materials. In conclusion, continuous textbook innovation is essential to optimize Arabic language learning implementation within the Merdeka Curriculum.
