Abstract

In the Islamic view, science and technology (IPTEKS) are value-bound (not value-free), meaning they must be aligned with Islamic teachings. Science and Technology (IPTEKS) is the result of human thot and feeling, therefore it must be developed in accordance with the development of human intellect. The development of IPTEKS is part of fulfilling the obligations of humans as rational beings created by Allah. Science and technology are not merely means to achieve worldly progress, but also tools to draw closer to Allah. Islam views knowledge as an integral part of human life that should be directed toward the common good. The essence of knowledge in the Islamic perspective is not value-neutral; knowledge is seen as a means to know Allah SWT and to fulfilll the human duty as a caliph on earth. As for technology, it is the result of applying knowledge in human life. In Islam, technology is permitted and even encouraged as long as it is used for good and the common good. Thus, the essence of knowledge and technology in Islam lies in their unity with the values of monotheism, ethics, and humanitarian goals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges of formulating the background in classroom action research (CAR), particularly regarding argumentative and methodological gaps in the development of the research rationale. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by examining scholarly articles from reputable journals that discuss CAR practices, the quality of academic writing, and the construction of educational research arguments. The literature search was conducted through the Scopus, ScienceDirect, ERIC, and Google Scholar databases for the years 2015–2025, resulting in a final total of 20 articles that met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using the PRISMA guidelines. The results of the literature synthesis indicate that the background of PTK is still formulated descriptively, lacks a clear identification of research gaps, is poorly integrated with theoretical reviews and prior research, and does not demonstrate a clear connection between the problem, actions, and research design. These conditions give rise to two primary gaps: an argumentative gap and a methodological gap. The novelty of this study lies in the conceptualization of these two gaps as an integrative analytical framework for systematically evaluating the quality of the formulation of the PTK background.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran tematik terpadu terhadap kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (PGMI) Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei eksplanatori. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 240 mahasiswa PGMI yang telah menempuh mata kuliah Pembelajaran Tematik Terpadu, dengan sampel sebanyak 150 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket skala Likert yang telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pembelajaran tematik terpadu berada pada kategori tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 4,12, sedangkan kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa berada pada kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata 4,05. Hasil uji regresi menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran tematik terpadu berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa (β = 0,685; p < 0,05). Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,469 menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran tematik terpadu memberikan kontribusi sebesar 46,9% terhadap kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa PGMI. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penguatan pembelajaran tematik terpadu dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik calon guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

Abstract

Scientific papers are an essential component of academic activities as they function as a means of communicating ideas, research findings, and the advancement of knowledge in a structured and accountable manner. This study aims to examine the implementation of scientific writing conventions in the preparation of Classroom Action Research (CAR) proposals, particularly concerning their organization, structure, and writing standards. A qualitative approach with a library research method was employed in this study. Data sources included books, accredited national journals, and official guidelines related to scientific writing. The data were analyzed descriptively through data collection, review, categorization, and interpretation. The results reveal that CAR proposals prepared with appropriate organization, proper academic language, and adherence to academic ethics tend to demonstrate higher quality. Therefore, these findings are expected to provide practical guidance for students and researchers in developing CAR proposals that comply with established academic standards.

Abstract

This study examines the professional competence of mathematics teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Pekanbaru City based on structured interview data. The research aims to describe teacher competence across five dimensions: subject matter mastery, instructional method development, learning assessment, continuous professional development, and reflective practice. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews with a mathematics teacher who has completed the PPG (Teacher Professional Education) program. Findings reveal that the teacher demonstrates strong professional competence through systematic lesson preparation, differentiated instruction using tiered worksheets, scaffolding strategies, and integration of educational technologies such as GeoGebra, Quizizz, and Kahoot. Active participation in MGMP and professional seminars further supports sustainable professional growth. This study concludes that professional competence must be complemented by pedagogical, social, and personality competencies for truly effective and ethical teaching practice.

Abstract

This study analyzes the strategies used by teachers to create active and meaningful learning for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 81 Palembang. The background of this research is the phenomenon of passive, teacher-centered learning that reduces student motivation and understanding of concepts. This study aims to identify teacher strategies, describe their implementation, analyze supporting and inhibiting factors, and evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies in creating active and meaningful learning. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results showed that teachers at SD Negeri 81 Palembang used various strategies such as project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, cooperative learning models (STAD and Jigsaw), and the use of interactive learning media. These strategies increased student participation, critical thinking skills, collaboration, and understanding of concepts. Supporting factors include school facilities and teacher training, while inhibiting factors include time constraints and students’ diverse abilities. The conclusion is that teachers’ strategies are effective in creating active and meaningful learning, and collaboration between teachers, schools, and parents is essential for optimization.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) is a practice-based research approach that has the potential to improve the quality of learning through a continuous cycle of action and reflection. However, the quantitative growth in CAR publications has not been accompanied by a commensurate improvement in the methodological quality of resulting research reports. This study aims to analyze the design characteristics of CAR and identify factors influencing the quality of research reports. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The literature search was conducted across four international academic databases Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar using a combination of keywords based on Boolean operators. The search yielded 127 articles, which were screened through three stages based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 10 articles for further analysis. Data synthesis was conducted using a thematic narrative synthesis approach. The results indicate that most CAR research is oriented toward improving learning outcomes, however, recurring methodological weaknesses were identified, including: unclear problem formulations, weak coherence between action design and research objectives, limitations in data analysis techniques, and insufficient depth in the reflection process. This study contributes to the development of an evaluative framework for CAR designs that can serve as a reference for researchers in improving methodological standards and scientific credibility of CAR reports.

Abstract

This study uses the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the assistance of IBM SPSS AMOS to identify and analyze the influence of anxiety and independent learning on students' mathematics learning achievement. The quantitative approach is used because the data collected is in the form of numbers and is statistically analyzed to evaluate the relationships between variables. The background of this research lies in the fact that students still often experience poor math learning achievement. Mathematics is considered a difficult subject by many students, which makes them anxious and scared when studying and working on problems. This condition is called math anxiety. Students who experience high levels of anxiety can have difficulty concentrating, lose confidence, and give up when solving math problems. As a result, students' math skills decline. In addition to the anxiety factor, the ability to self-regulate learning is also one of the important factors that affect mathematics learning achievement. Self-regulated learning is the ability of students to manage and control their learning process independently, such as managing learning time, determining learning goals, choosing the right learning strategy, and evaluating the learning outcomes that have been achieved. Students who have good self-regulation skills tend to be more disciplined, active, and responsible in the learning process so that they are able to obtain better learning outcomes.  The research data was obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to students to measure the level of anxiety and self-regulated learning, as well as documentation of students' mathematical scores as data on learning achievement. The data analysis technique was carried out using SEM-AMOS through several stages, namely validity test, reliability test, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), structural model testing, and goodness of fit test  to determine the feasibility of the research model. The results of the study showed that anxiety had a negative and significant effect on mathematics learning achievement. This means that the higher the level of anxiety of students, the higher the achievement of learning mathematics tends to decrease. On the other hand, self-regulated learning has a positive and significant effect on mathematics learning achievement, which means that the better the student's ability to manage the learning process, the higher the mathematics learning achievement obtained. In addition, the results of the goodness of fit test  show that the research model has met the model feasibility criteria so that the SEM model used is declared feasible and can be used to explain the relationship between variables in the study. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that anxiety and self-regulated learning are important factors that affect students' mathematics learning achievement. Therefore, efforts are needed from teachers and schools to create a comfortable learning atmosphere, reduce student anxiety, and improve students' self-regulation skills so that mathematics learning achievement can increase.

Abstract

Qualitative data analysis constitutes the core of qualitative research; however, methodological traditions often develop in isolation, making it difficult for researchers to establish transparent and systematic analytical procedures. This study aims to develop the Manual Qualitative data analysis Matrix (MADKM) as an integrative operational framework that bridges the transformation of raw data into research findings. Employing an integrative methodological synthesis approach, the study synthesizes major traditions in qualitative data analysis, including interactive analysis, coding analysis, thematic analysis, framework analysis, and audit trail approaches. The findings reveal a conceptual fragmentation within the qualitative analysis literature, where data reduction, coding, categorization, theme development, data display, and analytical transparency are frequently discussed as separate methodological components. In response to this gap, the study proposes MADKM, which consists of six interconnected stages: raw data, coding, categorization, themes, analytical findings, and conclusions. The framework provides a traceable analytical pathway that strengthens transparency and consistency throughout the qualitative research process. The study concludes that MADKM contributes as an integrative operational framework that consolidates diverse traditions of qualitative data analysis into a practical manual format suitable for contemporary social research.

Abstract

Evaluasi pembelajaran memegang peranan krusial dalam menentukan arah dan keberhasilan proses pendidikan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komparatif kontribusi evaluasi formatif dan evaluasi sumatif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dalam ekosistem pendidikan modern, termasuk implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dan integrasi teknologi digital. Melalui metode studi literatur, artikel ini mensintesis temuan dari berbagai riset ilmiah terkini (2020–2026). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa evaluasi formatif bertindak sebagai penggerak proses (assessment for/as learning) melalui umpan balik berkelanjutan, sedangkan evaluasi sumatif berfungsi sebagai alat akuntabilitas pencapaian (assessment of learning). Kombinasi seimbang antara keduanya terbukti secara signifikan mengoptimalkan capaian kognitif, motivasi intrinsik, serta efisiensi strategi pengajaran guru.
