Abstract

Abstract

In the use of food delivery applications, FOMO (fear of missing out) often arises due to limited-time promotions and brand popularity. For example, Mie Gacoan, which has a strong brand image, is actually able to encourage consumers to make impulsive purchases. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis. The data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and SPSS 26 for Windows, while the survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to GoFood users to determine how much influence FOMO and brand image have on online food purchases. The results show that both factors significantly influence the impulsive buying behavior of Mie Gacoan consumers in Bandung via GoFood. This finding confirms that a marketing strategy that emphasizes FOMO elements and strengthens brand image can be an effective way to increase impulsive sales on digital platforms.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are an economic sector that plays a strategic role in promoting growth and equitable economic development, particularly at the regional level. This study aims to analyze the influence of education level and financial literacy on the financial behavior of MSME actors in the City of Cirebon, as well as to examine the role of financial planning as a mediating variable in this relationship. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method with an explanatory research approach. The researcher used a simple random sampling technique and determined the sample size using the Slovin formula, resulting in a total of 187 MSME respondents. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique through the SmartPLS 3 software. The results indicate that both education level and financial literacy have a positive influence on financial planning and financial behavior. Moreover, financial planning significantly affects financial behavior and is capable of mediating the influence of education level and financial literacy on financial behavior. These findings highlight the importance for MSME actors to improve their education level and financial literacy in order to enhance financial planning and financial behavior.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of profitability among Indonesian non-financial companies from 2012 to 2023, focusing on ROA and ROE. Using GMM to address endogeneity and machine learning models (Random Forest and XGBoost) for variable importance analysis, it identifies key factors influencing profitability. Company age often introduces inefficiencies and structural rigidity, reducing profitability, while high labor costs erode margins in labor-intensive industries. In contrast, increased capital intensity boosts profitability through investments in technology and infrastructure. Economic growth supports profitability by expanding purchasing power, whereas inflation raises costs and limits spending. Effective cost management, innovation, and strategic adaptability are crucial for sustaining profitability, while liquidity and market concentration are contextually relevant. Companies prioritizing innovation, cost control, and agility are better positioned to maintain profitability. Additionally, fostering innovation, simplifying structures, and enhancing agility address challenges of aging firms, while efficient workforce management and automation mitigate high labor costs. This study is limited by its focus on Indonesian non-financial companies and the use of secondary data, which may affect generalizability. Future research should expand to other emerging markets, explore sector-specific dynamics, and incorporate factors such as corporate governance and sustainability practices to provide broader insights into profitability drivers.

Abstract

In an era where ethical investment is gaining unprecedented traction, the potential of Islamic finance remains largely untapped, particularly in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country. This study investigates the gaps in Islamic investment practices in Indonesia and their implications for international business strategy. The research aims to explore the discrepancies between theoretical frameworks of Islamic finance and their practical application, emphasizing the role of financial literacy, socio-cultural influences, and regulatory challenges. Utilizing a systematic literature review methodology, the study synthesizes existing literature to identify key themes and gaps in the current understanding of Islamic finance in Indonesia. The findings reveal a significant disconnect between the ideals of Islamic finance and their implementation, highlighting the necessity for enhanced financial literacy programs and a robust regulatory framework to foster investor confidence. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of aligning investment products with the cultural and ethical values of Indonesian investors. The implications of these findings are twofold: they contribute to the theoretical discourse on Islamic finance and provide practical recommendations for financial institutions and policymakers. This research serves as a foundational step toward a more nuanced understanding of Islamic investment in Indonesia, paving the way for future studies that address the identified gaps.

Abstract

The DANA e-wallet is one of several e-wallets experiencing annual user growth in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to examine how millennials in Bandung, Indonesia, perceive DANA's usability, utility, and trustworthiness to influence their likelihood of using it. Descriptive verification analysis was complemented by quantitative methodology in this study. An online questionnaire was administered as a means of data collection. One hundred millennials living in Bandung who use the DANA e-wallet served as the sample for this study. Based on these findings, the three main criteria for evaluating e-wallets are perceived utility, trustworthiness, and ease of use. However, the level of Intention to Use serves as an excellent indicator. Intention to use is influenced by trust, perceived usefulness, and ease of use simultaneously. A user's intention to use a product is influenced by three factors: trust, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness. The characteristics of the millennial generation may explain why perceived ease of use has a high value but a small influence on intention to use. Trust is less important than perceived usefulness in determining intention to use.

Abstract

The increasing unemployment rate, especially among college graduates, demands an effective solution to increase employment opportunities. One approach that is increasingly considered important is to foster entrepreneurial intentions among students. This study aims to evaluate the influence of entrepreneurship education, parental roles, and entrepreneurial orientation on entrepreneurial intentions, both individually and simultaneously. The approach used in this study is a quantitative method with a survey technique. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 95 Maranatha Christian University students who had participated in the Maranatha Entrepreneurship Day (MED) activity. This study found that entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial orientation had a significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions. Conversely, the influence from the role of parents was not proven to be significant on entrepreneurial intentions. This study emphasizes the importance of education and entrepreneurial orientation in encouraging increased entrepreneurial intentions among students. Although the role of parents does not have a significant effect, family support can still make a positive contribution.
