Abstract

Abstracts This research is motivated by the importance of implementing appropriate risk mitigation in banking financing products to avoid losses, as successfully applied to the gold installment financing product at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP Pamekasan Jokotole. The purpose of this study is to determine the mechanism of the murābaḥah contract and to analyze the risk mitigation applied to gold installment financing at the bank. This field research utilizes a qualitative approach, with data collection methods consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation involving employees and customers as the research subjects. The validity of the data was tested using the source triangulation technique. The results show that: 1) The gold installment financing mechanism begins with customer consultation, gold selection, ordering from PT Antam, signing forms and the murābaḥah contract, paying a 20% down payment, and disbursing 80% of the financing into BSI net banking to be transferred to PT Antam, ending with the customer receiving the Gold Ownership Certificate (SBKE). 2) Potential risks include credit risk, market risk, and operational risk. The mitigation steps taken by BSI KCP Pamekasan Jokotole to manage market risk involve setting a 20% down payment to anticipate gold price fluctuations. Operational risk mitigation is carried out through regular internal supervision, while credit risk mitigation is implemented through BI Checking (credit history checks), customer education, and the strict application of the 5Cs of credit analysis.

Abstract

The tradition of reading Surah Al-Kahf on Friday represents a widespread Living Qur'an phenomenon across diverse Muslim communities in Indonesia. This library research aims to analyze the normative foundations of the authentic hadiths regarding the virtues of Surah Al-Kahf and systematically map the varying typologies of reception using Hans Robert Jauss’s reception theory, Karl Mannheim's sociology of knowledge, and Alfred Schutz's phenomenological approach. By synthesizing findings from 25 empirical fields, including boarding schools (pesantren), urban assemblies, corporations, and social media promotions, this study demonstrates that while the practices are strongly anchored in the classical texts of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah—promising spiritual illumination (an-nūr) and protection against the eschatological tribulations of Dajjal—their operationalized reception splits into exegesis, symbolic, and dynamic functional domains. The synthesis reveals that the community's *horizon of expectation* converts the four core narratives of Surah Al-Kahf (faith, wealth, knowledge, and power) into transformative socio-spiritual mechanisms. These mechanisms facilitate internal coping instruments against contemporary societal challenges, shifting the communal reading from forced institutional compliance to autonomous, identity-driven protection and psychological tranquility

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning methodology of Tafsir bil Ma’thur by integrating authoritative sources with contemporary learning approaches. Tafsir bil Ma’thur is an exegetical method based on the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the narrations of the Companions and the Tabi'in as primary authoritative sources. Amid the rapid advancement of information technology and the transformation of educational paradigms, an instructional model is required that preserves the authenticity of these sources while addressing the learning needs of contemporary students. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The data were collected from classical Qur'anic exegesis works, books on Qur'anic interpretation methodology, scholarly journal articles, and other relevant literature, and were analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that integrating authoritative sources with active, collaborative, and technology-assisted learning strategies enhances students' understanding of the principles of Tafsir bil Ma’thur without compromising the validity of transmission (sanad) and the authority of narrations. Furthermore, this approach promotes critical thinking, digital literacy, and academic attitudes in Qur'anic studies. Therefore, the learning methodology of Tafsir bil Ma’thur should be developed through pedagogical innovations while maintaining the epistemological foundations of classical Qur'anic exegesis to ensure its relevance in contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

Qiro'at is one of the principal branches of Ulum al-Qur'an that examines the various canonical modes of Qur'anic recitation transmitted authentically (mutawatir) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This discipline plays a significant role in preserving the authenticity of Qur'anic recitation while enriching the understanding of Qur'anic meanings. This study aims to examine the fundamental concepts of Qiro'at, its historical development, its relationship with Tajwid, and its connection with the concept of Sab'atu Ahruf within Qur'anic studies. The research employs a library research method using a descriptive-analytical approach through the examination of classical Islamic literature, scholarly books, and relevant academic journal articles. The findings indicate that the discipline of Qiro'at developed systematically from the time of the Prophet, continued through the era of the Companions, and was later codified by the renowned Imams of Qiro'at. Although closely related to Tajwid, Qiro'at constitutes an independent discipline with distinct objectives and scope. Furthermore, the concept of Sab'atu Ahruf provides the historical foundation for the diversity of Qur'anic recitation, whereas the mutawatir Qiro'at represent the authenticated and authoritative forms of recitation preserved through continuous transmission. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of Qiro'at remains essential for strengthening both academic and practical approaches to contemporary Qur'anic studies.

Abstract

Tarjumān al-Mustafīd by ‘Abd al-Ra’ūf al-Singkilī is a monumental milestone in Islamic historiography, widely recognized as the first complete 30-chapter (juz) exegesis written in the Malay language using Jawi script in Southeast Asia. This library research, centered on textual analysis and intellectual history, aims to deconstruct al-Singkilī’s hermeneutical methodology and map the epistemological framework of 17th-century Nusantara exegesis by synthesizing contemporary academic literatures. The findings demonstrate that the cognitive structure of Tarjumān al-Mustafīd is anchored in the concept of "epistemic localization," which bridges classical Middle Eastern intellectual traditions with the practical needs of the local Malay community. Methodologically, al-Singkilī combined the tahlīlī method with an ijmālī interpretive focus, operationalized through the technique of tarjamah tafsīriyah. Epistemologically, while al-Singkilī anchored his scientific authority within classical Sunni-Orthodox commentaries, he consciously eliminated convoluted theological disputes (kalam) and dense grammatical (nahwu) debates to maintain social stability and counteract the local crisis of the heterodox Wujudiyah doctrine in Aceh. This study underscores that the originality of Tarjumān al-Mustafīd lies not in radical theoretical innovations but in its creative linguistic and pedagogical adaptation, successfully laying the foundation for moderate Islam (wasathiyah) in Southeast Asia.
