Mathematical reasoning ability is essential for students to analyze problems, solve them accurately, and think logically. However, this ability among eighth-grade students at SMP Plus Ulumul Qur’an Aceh Selatan remains low, requiring an effective learning model such as Discovery learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery learning model on students’ mathematical reasoning ability. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a control group pre-test and post-test design. The population included all eighth-grade students, selected using total sampling. Data were collected through a mathematical reasoning test and analyzed using an independent t-test. The results showed that , indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 accepted. Thus, the Discovery learning model significantly improved students’ mathematical reasoning ability compared to the conventional learning model.

Problem-solving ability is a crucial mathematical skill; however, students’ performance in this area remains relatively low. To address this issue, the Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) method is assumed to enhance students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. This study aims to (1) examine the improvement of students’ problem-solving skills after the implementation of TAPPS in Grade VII SMP, and (2) compare the improvement between students taught with TAPPS and those taught using conventional methods. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The population consisted of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 16 Takengon, with class VII1 chosen as the experimental group and VII2 as the control group through random sampling. Data were collected through tests and analyzed using the t-test. Findings showed that the experimental group achieved an average N-gain of 0.40 (moderate effectiveness). Moreover, tcount = 7.67 > ttable = 1.68, indicating that TAPPS was significantly more effective than conventional teaching in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving skills.

Olympiad competitions usually present problems that require high-order thinking (HOT) skills. To solve them, students need skills, ideas, and creativity, so not all can answer spontaneously. Therefore, it is important to examine the intuitive thinking process of students in solving HOT problems. This qualitative study aims to describe the intuitive thinking process of junior high school Olympiad students in solving HOT mathematics problems. Data were collected through tests and interviews with students who had won or participated in the 2019 Madrasah Science Competition (KSM) at the MTs level. The findings show that Olympiad students can understand problems directly and spontaneously. In planning solutions, they use intuition such as common sense, intrinsic certainty, and extrapolativaness. They then implement solutions with common sense and extrapolativaness, and verify their answers using globality and coerciveness.

Rendahnya hasil belajar matematika dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, baik secara internal maupun secara eksternal. Penyebab yang memungkinkan rendahnya hasil belajar adalah kurangnya berbagai model pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru; Pembelajaran masih banyak didominasi oleh guru dan siswa lebih banyak mendengarkan penjelasan dari guru. Akibatnya siswa pasif dan hasil belajarnya menurun. Oleh karena itu, salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat membuat siswa terlibat secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran matematika di kelas terutama pada materi SPLDV dengan penerapan model pembelajaran pemecahan masalah. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran pemecahan masalah lebih tinggi daripada hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran langsng. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan adalah Countrol Group Post Test Design. Sampel penelitian yaitu kelas VIII-5 dan VIII-6 di MTsN 1 Aceh Besar. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes hasil belajar. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh thitung=3,61 dan ttabel=1,68 maka thitung ttabel, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran pemecahan masalah lebih tinggi dari pada hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. The low mathematics learning outcomes were influenced by many factors, both internally and externally. The causes that allow low learning outcomes were the lack of various learning models used by the teacher; Learning was still dominated by teachers and students listen to explanations from the teacher. As a result, students were passive and their learning outcomes declined. Therefore, one of the learning models that can lead students actively involved in the learning process of mathematics in classroom, especially in SPLDV material, was through the implementation of problem solving learning models. This study was aimed to find out the mathematics learning outcomes of students who were taught using problem solving learning models was higher than students' mathematics learning outcomes who were taught using direct learning models. The experimental design used was Control Group Post Test Design. The research samples were class VIII-5 and VIII-6 at MTsN 1 Aceh Besar. The data collection used was the test results. From the results of the study obtained tcount = 3.61 and ttable = 1.68 then tcount> ttable, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning outcomes of students who were taught using problem solving learning models were higher than the mathematics learning outcomes of students who were taught using direct learning models .

Representasi matematis merupakan salah satu aspek yang perlu ditekankan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran matematika. Kemampuan representasi matematis mengarahkan siswa dalam menemukan dan membuat suatu alat berpikir dalam menyampaikan informasi matematis dari hal yang bersifat abstrak menjadi hal konkret sehingga lebih mudah untuk dimengerti oleh siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan model Discovery Learning berbasis pendekatan Problem Solving. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MTsN 3 Pidie dengan menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif, desain penelitiannya adalah Pre-Experiment dengan jenis one-group pre-test-post-test. Untuk mendapatkan data diambil sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling pada satu dari tujuh kelas yaitu siswa kelas VIII-E dari populasi siswa di MTsN 3 Pidie. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tes pre-test dan post-test, yang terdiri dari 3 soal uraian representasi matematis tentang materi teorema Pythagoras. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari pre-test dan post-test digunakan uji t paired untuk melihat peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan model Discovery Learning berbasis pendekatan Problem Solving. Hasil pengolahan data diperoleh bahwa= 8,26. Sementara itu, pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 dengan derajat kebebasan dk = 24 diperoleh = 1,71. Oleh karena > yaitu 8,26 > 1,71 berakibat terjadinya penolakan H0. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan model Discovery Learning berbasis pendekatan Problem Solving di kelas VIII MTsN 3 Pidie.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Problem Centered Learning (PCL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada siswa kelas VIII di MTsN 2 Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitiannya adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain control group pre-test post-test design. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes.. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 didapat nilai sig 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan Problem Centered Learning (PCL) lebih baik dibandingkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar kelas VIII MTsN 2 Banda Aceh. Selain itu, pengaruh pendekatan Problem Centered Learning (PCL) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam semangat belajar matematika dengan menggunakan strategi yang bersifat baru, unik, atau tidak biasa untuk menyelesaikan masalah.

His study aimed to determine students’ relational understanding of mathematics on solid geometry material in class VIII of MTsS Darul Ulum Banda Aceh. The study used a qualitative approach, with data collected through individual tests and interviews. The results showed that students had different levels of relational understanding based on their mathematical abilities. Students with high mathematical ability demonstrated high relational understanding by being able to connect concepts and solve problems correctly. Students with moderate mathematical ability showed moderate relational understanding with limited ability to relate concepts. Meanwhile, students with low mathematical ability demonstrated low relational understanding and experienced difficulties inunderstanding relationships between solid geometry concepts. These differences were identified through the indicators of relational understanding achieved by each student

The purpose of this research was to find out the mathematical communication skills of students who were taught with better Cooperative Script learning models on set operation material in SMP Negeri 1 Labuhanhaji Barat. The research method used was a quasi experimental design. Sampling was done using random sampling. Population in this study all students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Labuhanhaji Barat. In this study consisted of two classes, namely class VII.2 as an experimental class and class VII.1 as a control class. The data were collected using a mathematical communication ability test sheet which was then analyzed using the independent sample t-test. The results showed that based one the t-test obtained t_count=2,66 and t_table =1,67. Because t_count>t_table then H_0 is rejected and H_1 is accepted so that it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students taught with more Cooperetive Script learning models better than students who were taught with conventional learning models on set operation material in SMP Negeri 1 Labuhanhaji Barat.

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in students’ conceptual understanding abilities between those taught using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model and those taught using the direct learning model at SMA Negeri 3 Abdya. The TGT learning model consists of four stages: class presentation, group study, tournament, and group reward. The hypothesis of this study was that students taught using the TGT learning model would have better conceptual understanding abilities than students taught using the direct learning model. This study employed a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental Design in the form of a pre-test and post-test control group design. The population of this study consisted of all tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Abdya. The samples were class X IPS 1 as the experimental class and class X IPS 2 as the control class. Data were collected through a conceptual understanding ability test. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling. The results showed that the TGT learning model was more effective in improving students’ mathematical conceptual understanding abilities than the direct learning model.and reseach results; written in 1 paragraph, single space among rows, using past tense sentences.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) learning model on students' mathematical problem system abilities. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with the Control Group Post Test Design. The sample in this study was taken using total sampling because the researcher used the entire population as the research sample. The results showed that: (1) the effect of the Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) learning model on the students' problem management ability. It can be concluded that the Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) learning model has an effect on students' mathematical problem abilities. (2) Based on the independent sample t test, the value of tcount> ttable or 6.59> 1.69. So the problem is that the ability to solve mathematical problems of students who are taught with the Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) learning model is better than the management skills of students who are taught using conventional learning.
