Abstract

Table tennis was originally a recreational sport played for fun. Table tennis is played with the aim of scoring points by hitting the ball over the net onto the opponent's table so that the opponent cannot return the ball. A backboard tool can be used to help pupils practise driving shots in table tennis. The backboard tool can also be used to increase the repetitions of students' drive shot consistency training. The aim of this research is to develop table tennis drills using a backboard at Sriwijaya State Sports School in 2023. The type of research used is quantitative with a developmental approach method. The population and sample in this research are 10 Sriwijaya State Sports School table tennis athletes. person. The results of this research indicate that the developed backboard tool is effective in increasing motivation to practice drill drive strokes in table tennis, based on the results of interviews with students after practicing drill drive strokes using a backboard tool. Apart from this, the findings or novelty of this research is different from previous research in that the reflective board products produced are more practical and easy to carry and store. Subsequent research suggests developing more portable or foldable versions to facilitate outdoor use or in places with limited space.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the impact of squat jump training on lower limb muscle power in the extracurricular futsal activities of State Middle School 29 Palembang. The research method employed a quasi-experimental approach using a "pretest and posttest one group" design. The sample for this study comprised 30 participants, and the research instrument used was the vertical jump test. The data processing and analysis involved assessing data normality and hypothesis testing using the T-test formula. The pretest results showed an average score of 18.1, while the posttest average was 31.8. Upon conducting the T-test, the calculated t-value was 16.54, and the critical t-value was 1.70. This indicated that the calculated t-value (t) was significantly higher than the critical t-value (t-table) at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05) with a sample size of 30. The implications of this study suggest that squat jump training has a significant impact on lower limb muscle power in the extracurricular futsal activities of State Middle School 29 Palembang. The findings provide valuable insights for educators and trainers involved in enhancing the athletic performance of students in futsal and similar sports. Further research can explore the specific training regimens and techniques that yield the most substantial improvements in lower limb muscle power, contributing to the overall development of young athletes in the context of extracurricular activities.

Abstract

The application of sports science is currently continuing to develop, the results of research in the field of sports produce theories or ideas that can be applied directly in the world of sports, especially sports that focus on athlete performance, namely team sports. Recovery is an important factor in a sports team, to maintain the physical condition of athletes in their best performance. The aim of this research is to discuss the effect of using cold water immersion on lactic acid levels in the blood in soccer athletes and how to use it based on temperature, duration and depth of immersion. The research method used was context review, to determine the effect of CWI on reducing lactic acid levels in the blood in more depth. Inspired by previous research conducted on 22 Persebaya U-19 football athletes, by carrying out a simple CWI method using a barrel, and using water temperature maintained at 10°C - 15°C with a duration of 2.40 minutes of soaking and 1.15 minutes of rest for 5 sets. . To find out more about the effects of CWI, there are several research results and CWI methods that have been used to restore reduced levels of lactic acid in the blood, quoted from several articles and research results from national and international e-journals to discuss the physiological effects of using CWI on athletes after intensity training. tall. The result is that CWI can help speed up neuromuscular recovery, reduce pain in muscles. There are several other sports such as running, tennis, cycling, which use the CWI method for recovery, especially reducing lactic acid levels in the blood. As a recommendation, it is hoped that future research can use this tool. which is easier to measure the temperature of the soaking water so that the temperature remains constant as expected
