Abstract

In the current entrepreneurial landscape, creative business practices have emerged as a critical skill for vocational students,including those at SMK Negeri 8 South Tangerang City. The integration of creative entrepreneurship into the curriculum, focusing on providing students with practical opportunities to develop business ideas and strategies. Drawing inspiration from the success of Nadiem Makarim, the founder of Gojek, this study highlights the importance of innovative thinking, simple yet scalable business models, and the application of marketing strategies such as the 4Ps (Product, Price, Promotion, Place).The program implemented at SMK Negeri 8 incorporates project-based learning to foster student engagement and practical application. Activities include identifying local market needs, designing products or services, setting competitive prices, andcreating promotional campaigns using accessible tools such as Canva and CapCut. Students also learn basic financial management, focusing on capital allocation and sustainable profit strategies. Through this approach, the school aims to enhance students’ entrepreneurial skills, preparing them to identify and seize business opportunities in the real world. By integrating theory and practice, the program demonstrates that strategic management, creativity, and the willingness to take calculated risks are essential components of successful business ventures. This journal seeks to inspire vocational schools to adopt similar models, equipping students with the tools and confidence to navigate the dynamic business environment.

Abstract

Down syndrome has cognitive delays (IQ <55) and movement barriers due to hypotony since infancy, resulting in a delayed locomotor phase at the age of 0-6 years. Early intervention, especially in gross motor development, is essential to improve progress in language, cognition and psychomotor skills. Locomotor activities such as play, sports and sensory integration therapy (SI) in special schools (SLB) are very effective. However, the number of special schools with special SI facilities for children with Down syndrome in Indonesia is still small. This research aims to produce a solution for locomotor SI facilities for DS children in SLB.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of students as volunteers in distributing aid to Medan flood victims in 2024. By using a qualitative approach through direct field observation and documentation. Students also play an active role in channeling funds and assistance, as well as providing emotional support to disaster victims. The assistance provided is in the form of basic necessities and clothing that is suitable for use, as well as hygiene kits. The findings show that students can also manage logistics effectively and can collaborate with stakeholders to ensure relief supplies are distributed on target. Challenges included limited resources and difficulty accessing the location due to the flooding. Despite these obstacles, student participation had a positive impact, developing leadership skills and building a wider social network. It also highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination in disaster management to achieve sustainable recovery.

Abstract

The research highlights the key role played by student volunteers in fostering the motor development of children with Down syndrome and cerebral palsy through community service activities in Medan. By focusing on physical and emotional needs, the program uses creative approaches to improve motor skills. Activities included educational games to improve hand coordination, such as gripping and reaching, and the use of wheelchairs to help with balance, coordination and muscle strength. The results showed significant progress in the children's motor skills, along with an increase in their confidence and motivation. For the student volunteers, the implementation of this program provided valuable hands-on learning, deepening their understanding of working with children with special needs and increasing their empathy. A key success factor for the program was the strong collaboration between volunteers, parents and the North Sumatra Ministry of Social Affairs. This research demonstrates how student-helpful initiatives can not only empower children with disabilities to unlock their potential, but also inspire greater social awareness and inclusivity in the community.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the experiences of students who participated in volunteer work for children with cerebral palsy. A qualitative approach was used through in-depth interviews with several students who were actively involved as volunteers. The findings of this study revealed that participation in this activity helped students to develop empathy skills, interpersonal skills, and a greater understanding of the needs of children with cerebral palsy. In addition, students also faced various obstacles such as lack of previous training on medical aspects and difficulties in relating to children with special needs. However, this experience was seen as a valuable lesson, both in personal and professional dimensions. The conclusion of this study is that volunteer activities not only support the well-being of children with cerebral palsy, but also help shape students' character and ability to be more loving and caring.

Abstract

Used cooking oil, is oil that has been used more than once for frying food. Consuming used cooking oil as a source of fried food has carcinogenic effects on human health due to the molecular structure changes caused by high temperatures during the frying process. Additionally, disposing of used cooking oil into waterways, rivers, and soil leads to environmental pollution. This community service program aims to raise awareness, provide exposure, and train the PKK (Family Welfare Program) members of RT 01 RW 04 Desa Pagerageung to recycle used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles for use at home or in their businesses as an implementation of a sircular economy. The approach includes identifying the community and training location, preparing socialization and demonstrations, interactive training, and monitoring results. The process of making aromatherapy candles is simplified to match the community's background knowledge and home facilities. Used cooking oil is processed with candle dyes, cotton candle wicks, lavender essential oil, stearic acid, and paraffin/candle hardener. Participants benefited from the knowledge transfer program, increasing their awareness and receiving positive impacts measured through focus group discussions using pre- and post-activity questionnaires. This community service not only enhances awareness of the importance of recycling used cooking oil but also highlights the potential for generating new income through the production of aromatherapy candles from used oil, thereby improving the community's economy.

Abstract

A prospective professional educator must be able to keep up with developments in the current technological era, because technology is very important for various fields. Digital-based learning can make learning more enjoyable for students. For this reason, STKIP Pangeran Antasari needs a workshop that teaches students how to use the wordwall website to create digital learning media. In this service, the material is presented by the speaker. A theoretical explanation about wordwalls was given by the speaker before the participants carried out direct practical activities. Theoretical explanations are provided via PowerPoint slides shown by the presenter, and hands-on practical activities are carried out where participants use the device and follow specific steps for using the wordwall. The result is that teachers have learned about the latest ways to use interactive learning media. They can now use Wordwall to create their own teaching materials, media, or evaluation tools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of polite language and the importance of language ethics in higher education environments, with case studies at STKIP and STIE Pangeran Antasari. Using a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative) that includes initial surveys, interactive workshops, practical simulations, and post-training evaluations, the research involved 58 respondents from various study programs. Initial survey results revealed that while 87.9% of respondents acknowledged the importance of language ethics, only 36.2% consistently applied it in daily practice. Workshop and mentoring activities significantly improved participants' understanding, with 82.7% able to distinguish between formal and informal communication contexts, and 70.6% reporting positive changes in applying polite language. However, challenges remained in digital communication, where only 48.2% of respondents consistently adhered to language ethics. The study highlights the gap between theoretical awareness and practical application while emphasizing the effectiveness of hands-on training approaches. These findings recommend integrating language ethics modules into curricula and developing clearer academic communication guidelines. This research contributes to the development of language policies in higher education, particularly in addressing digital communication challenges.

Abstract

The low level of financial literacy in Indonesia, which only reached 49.68% (OJK, 2022), is one of the major challenges in inclusive economic development. This condition has a direct impact on poor family financial management, such as high dependence on illegal loans (loan sharks), minimal long-term financial planning, and vulnerability to financial risks. Data from Bank Indonesia (2023) shows that 67% of Indonesians do not have emergency funds, while 40% of families have difficulty meeting basic needs due to their inability to manage their income. At the community level, this problem is even more critical in semi-urban areas such as Gedanganak Village, East Ungaran, where access to formal financial services is limited. The initial survey by the community service team showed that 72% of villagers did not understand the concept of effective interest, and 85% had never recorded monthly expenses. This is exacerbated by the lack of participatory and sustainable financial education interventions. This community service program is here to answer these problems through interactive training that focuses on: Income management, Savings strategies, debt management The post-test results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, with the average score jumping from 27.0 (pre-test) to 41.3 (scale 50). This proves that the participatory approach is more effective than the conventional lecture method.

Abstract

The dependency of fishermen on middlemen is a deeply rooted issue within the socio-economic structure of coastal communities, including in Margaluyu Village, Kasemen Sub-district, Serang City. This relationship, built upon elements of social capital such as trust, social networks, and reciprocal norms, has perpetuated a cycle of poverty among fishermen. This community service program aims to reduce such dependency through participatory and educational approaches, including financial management training, livelihood diversification, and the establishment of alternative institutions such as fishermen’s cooperatives. The results indicate increased awareness among fishermen of the importance of independent business and marketing practices, along with the formation of cooperatives as an initial step toward economic self-reliance. Despite ongoing challenges such as psychological dependence and managerial limitations social capital has proven to be a vital force in fostering solidarity and constructing more equitable and sustainable economic systems. This activity demonstrates that social capital-based empowerment is an effective strategy for improving the welfare of fishing communities.
