Abstract

This study aims to determine how well psychoeducation helps vocational high school students become more confident in choosing a higher education major. A total of 143 students took a pretest; then, 18 students with low self-efficacy scores were selected to participate in the intervention. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, this study involved three psychoeducation sessions focused on self-understanding, interest and ability analysis, and major decision-making exercises. The analysis results indicated that self-efficacy scores increased significantly between the pretest and posttest, with t = –12.487 and p < 0.001. The effect size was d = 2.94, indicating a very large effect category. The study's findings suggest that psychoeducation helps students become more confident when choosing a higher education major. These results indicate that psychoeducation can be used as a structured intervention strategy to help students who are uncertain in the process of choosing their higher education majors.

Abstract

Early adulthood after graduating from college is often characterized by confusion that can trigger a quarter-life crisis. This crisis involves challenges in various aspects such as career, relationships, finances, and negative emotions, including the increasing unemployment rate among college graduates. These issues can be addressed from within by increasing self-awareness, a willingness to learn, improving skills, and trying new things. High self-efficacy is necessary to overcome the quarter-life crisis and face life challenges with a positive attitude. The primary goal of this research is to assess the relationship between self-efficacy and the quarter-life crisis among unemployed early adulthood college graduates. The research sample consisted of 115 respondents selected through incidental sampling. Measurement was conducted using Quarter Life Crisis Scale developed by the researcher and General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) of Schwarzer & Jerusalem (1995). Data analysis employed the non-parametric Kendall's tau-b test, revealing a correlation coefficient r = -0,325 with p = 0,000. In conclusion, there is a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and the quarter-life crisis experienced by unemployed early adulthood college graduates. An increase in self-efficacy is followed by a decrease in the quarter-life crisis. Conversely, a decline in self-efficacy is associated with a rise in the quarter-life crisis.High self-efficacy helps individuals identify solutions, take positive steps, and stay focused on life goals, thereby reducing the intensity and impact of the quarter-life crisis.

Abstract

Abstract—One of the challenges faced by older adults is the loss of a spouse. The experience of losing a spouse is difficult. Elderly widows and widowers are vulnerable to grief, loneliness, health problems, and depression. Given this challenge, gratitude is crucial for enabling them to give meaning to their experiences positively and accept their circumstances. Gratitude is the tendency to respond to the kindness of others with grateful emotions. Forms of gratitude include appreciating the good things in life, feeling thankful when receiving benefits from others, approving others’ positive actions, and feeling happy with the results of those actions. This research aims to discover the gratitude in elderly widows and widowers, specifically the forms of gratitude they exhibit. Using a phenomenological approach and purposive sampling technique, interviews were conducted with three elderly people who have lost their spouses. The themes that emerged in this study included problems, supporting factors, things to be grateful for, forms of gratitude, impacts of gratitude, and characteristics of gratitude. The death of a spouse can evoke negative emotions, but all three informants had supporting factors in the form of social support from others and spirituality. They were grateful for their health and the fulfillment of their life needs. The form of gratitude expressed by the three informants is saying thanks to God and others. Gratitude then can generate acceptance towards life situations. Therefore, gratitude has a positive impact on elderly widows and widowers.

Safety behavior is important for every kitchen employee to avoid any risk of workplace accidents. One factor is safety leadership, which is related to safety behavior through motivating subordinates, providing attention, and supervising. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between safety behavior and safety leadership in kitchen employees in the non-hotel and non-franchise F&B sector. This study used a quantitative method with 102 kitchen employees as respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection method used was the distribution of questionnaires in the form of Google Forms through social media and physical questionnaires by visiting the respondents' workplaces. Data were processed using Kendall's Tau B. The results of this study showed a positive relationship between safety behavior and safety leadership in kitchen employees in the non-franchise food and beverage sector with a significance value of p = 0.003, a correlation value of r = 0.217. There are other factors that can shape safety behavior, namely knowledge, skills, length of service, and organizational climate.

Abstract

In Indonesia, not many people openly identify as homosexual or gay. Sometimes, homosexual minority groups face obstacles in accepting themselves and recognizing their identity. Therefore, this study aims to examine the dynamics of self-acceptance among gay individuals in early adulthood in Madiun, hoping to explore their self-acceptance abilities, both positively and negatively. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a focus on phenomenology, which can explore the problem in depth. Data collection in this study was conducted through interviews and observations based on aspects described by Phillips (1951) with three informants. The characteristics of the informants were identifying themselves as gay, being between the ages of 18 and 40, and residing in the city of Madiun. Of the third research informant, there was one informant who showed a pattern of self-acceptance that was more prominent and better than the other two informants. This was due to factors such as the social environment, life principles, and the ability to utilize the informant's strengths.

Abstract

Work-life balance refers to an individual’s effort to allocate time and meet demands in a balanced manner between work responsibilities and personal life or activities outside of work. Work-life balance is essential for members of the sandwich generation who work as employees, as it enables them to manage both professional and personal responsibilities effectively. Work-life balance consists of four aspects: Work Interference with Personal Life, Personal Life Interference with Work, Personal Life Enhancement of Work, and Work Enhancement of Personal Life. The work-life balance scale used in this study was the Work-Life Balance Scale developed by Fisher et al., which has been adapted into Indonesian with validity values ranging from 0.502 to 0.780 and a reliability coefficient of 0.928. The social support variable was measured using The Social Provisions Scale developed by Cutrona & Russel, also adapted into Indonesian, with validity values ranging from 0.183 to 0.759 and a reliability coefficient of 0.917. The participants in this study consisted of 105 members of Generation Z who belong to the sandwich generation and work as employees. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using the Kendall Tau-B correlation test, which produced a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The results indicate a significant positive relationship between social support and work-life balance. Thus, the higher the social support received by an individual, the higher their level of work-life balance. The effective contribution of social support to work-life balance was 21.8%.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of AI dependency and loneliness on psychological well-being among individuals in the emerging adulthood stage. A quantitative method was employed using an online survey administered to 110 participants aged 18–29 who had experience using AI applications. The instruments used included the Dependency on Artificial Intelligence Scale (DAI), the UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. Data analysis was conducted through item reliability and validity testing, outlier elimination, descriptive analysis, assumption testing, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that loneliness had a significant negative effect on psychological well-being, while AI dependency showed no significant effect statistically. These findings confirm that social and emotional factors play a greater role in the psychological well-being of emerging adults than digital technology usage patterns. This research is expected to contribute to the development of interventions that focus on strengthening social support to maintain mental health condition of the younger generation that use AI in daily activities.
