Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of class discussion with sosioscientific issue, difference in academic ability, and their interaction toward biology students’ science literacy in Universitas Negeri Malang. This study use a quasi experimental approach with pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The subject consist of two high and low academic ability classes. The research data were collected using scientific literacy test. Scientific literacy data were analyzed using ANACOVA with 5% significant level. The result showed that the classroom discussion with socioscientific issue had significant effect in increasing students’ science literacy and potentially increasing the science literacy of low academic ability student in line with the high academic student.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan ketuntasan belajar, pemahaman konsep, dan persepsi peserta didik, serta mengetahui efektivitas modul stoikiometri berdasarkan konsep sukar dan kesalahan konsep dibandingkan latihan soal. Pengumpulan data menggunakan dua set soal tes diagnostik dan angket persepsi peserta didik. Data selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif dan statistik. Hasil penelitian menyatakan peserta didik yang belum tuntas dan dibelajarkan dengan bantuan modul dan latihan soal pada ketuntasan belajar mencapai 49,27% dan 31,88%, penurunan konsep sukar sebanyak 16,94% dan 14,38%, serta penurunan kesalahan konsep sejumlah 10,0% dan 4,6%. Persepsi peserta didik terhadap isi dan pembelajaran menggunakan modul sangat positif. Hasil uji-t pihak kanan menunjukkan bahwa modul stoikiometri lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik yang belum tuntas dibandingkan dengan latihan soal (thitung (2,923) > ttabel (1,995)).

Abstract

PISA is one of international meassurement for student competence. PISA 2015 result show that Indonesia in the low position. This research aims to know the thinking procees of student in order to solve Spacial Geometry PISA problems. Thinking proses shows in cognitive maps using information process theory. This research using 3 students with high, middle, and low cognitive ability as subjects and given 6 problems according to PISA levels. This research shows that student with high cognitive ability having complete thinking proses, student with middle and low cognitive ability having a lost concept on the middle and high-level problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the defragmentation process of SMAN 4 Malang 12th grade impulsive students’ thinking structure on solving word problem. Two selected subjects do the initial test by think aloud method, interview process, and evaluation test. The results of this study shows that students’ errors on understanding the word problem and carrying out the plan steps can be fixed through disequlibration, conflict cognitive, and scaffolding intervention; students’ errors on devising a plan step can be fixed through disequlibration intervention; students’ errors on looking back step can be fixed through disequlibration and scaffolding intervention.

Abstract

The purpose of the development of Pancasila economic learning scenario are (1) the systematic learning process with the change of knowledge, attitudes and skills of the participants in Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution article 33 and (2) Developing activities as the basis of learning and daily life process based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution article 33 involves interaction, real learning outcomes and lessons learned in project activities. This research uses a qualitative approach with design based research (DBR) method. Data were collected by document analysis, interview through (FGI), and group discussions through FGD. The results of developing economic learning scenarios are (1) creating an atmosphere of economic learning based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution article 33 and (2) creation of economic learning results that change the knowledge, attitude, and skill.

Abstract

This researchand development aims to produce and reveal the eligibility attitude and Psychomotoric skills assessment instruments on Electrochemistry. This development of assessment instruments used steps, such as: (1) the study of literature; (2) field surveys; (3) the preparation of the instruments; (4) limited trial; (5) the revision of the test results; (6) trials more widely; (7) the improvement of the final product; and (8) the dissemination and implementation.The result of content validation showed that the attitudes and psychomotoric skills assessment instruments “very decent”with average percentage of 97,3 % and 86,5 %.The limited field testing results showed that the attitudes assessment instrument “valid” and “reliable”. The results of legibility tests on the skills assessment instrument was otherwise very appropriate/very right to use and very easy to understand language.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of experiential learning model on mental model category of students. The method used mixed method design of embedded experimental model with quantitative and qualitative approach. The subject of class XI IPA-A (n = 30) in SMAN 3 Malang. The data collection using the instrument is 9 essay questions. The data were analyzed using effect size and N-gain. Obtained results with mental model category of surface, matching, and deep type. The result shows that the influence of experiential learning model on student's mental model is strong with the effect size value obtained 3.81. As for the mental model changes the students are moderate because the N-Gain value is 0.53.

Abstract

This research aims to produce writing fable text teaching materials contains living values on seventh grade which developed by referring to the elements of contect, systematics, language, and display design. The model used is the development of 4D. The results are (1) based on the feasibility test of this resource is feasible and ready to be implemented and (2) there is significant influence in learning writing fable text.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the application of science-based natural materials center is able to improve the development of children's learning that includes aspects of language, physical-motor and cognitive children aged 5—6 years. The method used in this research is classroom action research. Subjects in this study were 18 children in the age group of 5—6 years. Based on the results of the application of science-based natural materials center applied to children aged 5—6 years in learning activities in kindergarten, able to improve the development of children's learning that includes aspects of language, physical-motor, and cognitive.

Abstract

Critical thinking skill is important developed by learning in class for prepare student face development society. The aim of this research is to describe students’ critical thinking skill difference between students who taught by POGIL strategy and verification strategy. Research used quasi experimental design with posttest only control group design. Subject of research is 66 students from two class of X MIA in SMAN 7 Malang who have familiar cognitive knowledge. Research result show that a POGIL’s students have higher critical thinking skill than verification’s students.
