Abstract

BIPV is an integral part of the building envelope such as the roof or the facade. There is a difference of Building Integrated Photovoltaic placement between the location in the equator region and other regions. The study aims to know the effect of BIPV placement and its potency in generating electrical energy. The study reviews previous research related topics of BIPV in all regions. The study shows that BIPV placement is determined by the sun’s position that producers incidence angle. Incidence angle should fall perpendicularly on a surface to obtain the high of an intensity of solar irradiation. Therefore, most of BIPV placement in the equator region are on rooftops while in the regions far from equator not only on rooftops but also on facades. Roofs are so far considered to be the ideal location for BIPV placement since roofs provide the best solar energy generation. The potency of BIPV can be explored in building design with the variation of orientation and shape to increase the building surfaces for getting solar potential.

Abstract

One of the most important parts of a project management is the quality management. While it is absolutely necessary to conduct a thorough research on the maturity of quality management in construction companies, especially contractors so that construction companies know at what level of their company quality, this has an effect on building customer perceptions of their companies and the business of the company itself to continue to grow to be able to reach the highest maturity level. This paper aims to propose an assessment model of contractor quality management maturity (QMM) that covers both the corporate and project levels of a construction project. Determination of research variables was conducted with the study of literature in depth and validated by experts. Weighting variables by pairwise comparison method were based on interviews with experts and was represented in the form of a spider web. For model validation, case studies of large state-owned contractors and a medium-sized private contractor in Surabaya were used. The weighting for QMM assessment on contractors is 43% on corporate level and 57% on project level. In corporate level there are 10 variables with each weighting: People and Customer Management (2.9%), Supplier Partnership (1.6%), Communication of Improvement Information (2.4%), Customer Satisfaction Orientation (5.3%), External Interface Management (1.4%), Strategic Quality Management (6.2%), Team Work Structures for Improvement (4.3%), Operational Quality Planning (4.4%), Quality Improvement Measurement System (8.2%), and Corporate Quality Culture (6.3%). Project level quality consists of 39% for product quality and 18% for service quality. In the project level there are 8 variables for product quality: Performance (9.0%), Features (4.1%), Reliability (8.0%), Conformance (5.6%), Durability (4.5%), Serviceability (3.0%), Aesthetics (1.7%), Perceived Quality (3.1%). While the service quality consists of 5 variables: Service Reliability (4.9%), Responsiveness (2.7%), Assurance (5.7%), Emphaty (1.8%), and Tangibles (2.8%).

Abstract

Contact angle measurement is a technique which can be used to determine the surface properties of a substance and observe the interaction of surfaces. When polar liquid dropped on a non-polar solid, it will make an interaction that can observed from the contact angle. In simple way, the different polarity of the solid and the liquid sample will affect to the contact angle obtained. In this work the value of contact angle will be correlated to the polarity of the sample. The results showed that the plot between polarity parameter with contact angle on polytetrafluoroethylene substrat has a correlation which formed a sigmoidal curve with R2=0,954. It means the polarity of liquids can be determined by the contact angle values.

Abstract

Kelurahan Kauman is one of the cultural heritage kampong in Surakarta, formerly inhabited by abdi dalem ulama Keraton and batik entrepreneurs. Kauman developed when Pakubuwono III built the Great Mosque in 1757, the kampong then developed into a batik industrial center in the early 1800s, shown by the number of luxury homes built by batik entrepreneurs that year. But in 1939 to 1970 batik companies went bankrupt; Therefore, the ancient houses and buildings were damaged and became a slum neighborhood. Revitalization of the area has been done since 2006, the economy rose again but the environmental conditions have not been optimal. The purpose of this study is to manage the revitalization program that has been done to find a better settlement strategy. The research was conducted by qualitative rationalistic approach. Data were collected through literature studies, interviews and field surveys. The sample selection is purposive, the sample being studied is the impact of revitalization on physical and non-physical environment and community activities of Kauman. Revitalization management is needed to make Kauman more comfortable in the future as a healthy settlement and can be developed into a tourist kampong to improve the welfare of the people who live in it

Abstract

Submerged Floating Tunnel (SFT) i.e. Archimedes Bridge (AB) is a tubular structure that floats at a certain depth below the surface of the water carrying capacity exploiting derived from Archimedes lift. Various studies have been conducted on SFT but but no SFT has been constructed yet. The most important for design and build for SFT is the section. Research for the tube section of SFT has been doing for oval and circle shape with steel and concrete for the material, the conclusion is the section of the steel material with a circle is better than the cross section of the concrete. The section of SFT, which is identical to the vessel so that it is suitable when applied methods used on ships. One method that was developed in the vessel is Sandwich Plate System (SPS). SPS is a lightweight material that consists of two steel plates separated by a core in the form of elastomer. Elastomers which began much studied at the SPS is polyurethane. SPS advantage with polyurethane as the core has many advantages such as resistance to chemical reactions seawater, vibration and noise as well as strong against explosions. The tube shape is circle where inside diameter is 5 m, length is 150 m. Wave height is 5 m and wave period is 1.2 s with seabed -20m. Wave load will be applied to the tube as hydrostatic wave load arround the tube and dynamic wave load to the one side. Anlysis using Abaqus 6.14 and obtain the maximum and minimum stresses in x, y and z direction occure to the hole of cable in the belt and yied at the point. Maximum deflection in z direction is 83.466 mm in the same direction of load and y direction is 9.83 mm to the up side. Increament the step time makes the displacement is increase too.

Abstract
