Abstract

Orthodontic tooth movement occurs due to mechanical stimulation followed by alveolar bone and periodontal ligament remodeling. Bone remodeling is the process of bone resorption in areas of tension and bone formation in areas of tension. Various techniques and drugs are used to speed up orthodontic treatment. This study aims to analyze the expression of BMP2 and TRAP6 on orthodontic tooth movement after the administration of Robusta coffee extract. Twenty-four Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups: C1 (2 weeks) and C2 (3 weeks) groups: rats were given orthodontic mechanical force (OMF) and T1 (2 weeks) and T2 (3 weeks) groups rats were given OMF and Robusta coffee extract. OMF in rats was performed by moving the maxillary right permanent molars mesially with a Niti closed coil spring. Observations were made on the 15th and 22nd day by immunohistochemical examination to determine the expression of BMP2 and TRAP6. Administration of Robusta coffee extract for 2 weeks and 3 weeks increased BMP2 and TRAP6 expression (p <0.05). Administration of Robusta coffee extract increased the expression of BMP2 and TRAP6 in the alveolar bone during orthodontic tooth movement.

Abstract

More nutritional status occurs because of an imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure. High energy intake is the result of excessive food consumption, while low energy expenditure is the result of a lack of physical activity. The sedentary lifestyle has increased during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Sedentary lifestyle triggers the risk of overweight and obesity in adolescents. This research uses an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach which aims to determine the relationship between sedentary lifestyle and nutritional status of adolescents. Respondents in this study were adolescents aged 13-15 years. The number of samples was 70 respondents used purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was the Adolescent Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ) and measurement of nutritional status using standard anthropometric z-score tables to assess nutritional status in children aged 5-18 years. This study obtained the results of the Spearman rank test, obtained a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.470, which means that there is a significant and unidirectional relationship with moderate strength between the sedentary lifestyle and the nutritional status of adolescents. It can be concluded that with increasing sedentary lifestyle, nutritional status will also increase. Sedentary lifestyle is a factor associated with overweight status because low physical activity causes fat accumulation due to not burning calories.

The analysis of research data using Spearman with a 0.05 significance level. The results of the anxiety level showed as many as 39 elderly (58.2%) experienced anxiety, while 28 elderly (41.8%) did not experience anxiety, with a blood pressure value of at most high normal blood pressure. There is a relation between anxiety level and blood pressure status in Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha (PSTW) Bondowoso(p-value = 0.002; r = 0.369). Other factors such as age, gender, depression, stress, drugs, and physical activity need to be studied to avoid high blood pressure in the elderly.

Abstract

Pregnancy is the fertilization of the ovum and spermatozoa, followed by the nidation (implantation) process, which is classified into three trimesters. Mothers will experience increased anxiety when entering the third trimester, approaching delivery time. Anxiety has an impact, including feeling depressed and feeling uncomfortable, causing a decrease in sleep quality. The design used is descriptive correlation by measuring two variables, and the approach used is cross-sectional. Namely, the independent and dependent variables are carried out simultaneously. The population of this study were all pregnant women in their third trimester at the Bago Health Center. There were 84 populations, and the results of the sample calculation using the Lemeshow formula obtained 42 respondents. The sampling technique includes non-probability sampling. This study's results indicate a relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in third-trimester pregnant women at the Bago Health Center. The results of this study also show that anxiety levels have a strong relationship with sleep quality. The direction of the correlation in this study is negative, which means that if the level of anxiety is high, the quality of sleep is poor.

Abstract

Agriculture products as foodstuffs are needed by many people. One of the processed agriculture products that people like is white oyster mushroom. This was followed by requirements for the quality of white oyster mushroom products, so the analytical tool was needed to determine the freshness of white oyster mushrooms easily and practically. This study aimed to develop an edible freshness sensor based on sweet potato anthocyanin (Ipomoea batatas L.) with an edible membrane mixed between chitosan and corn starch. The edible freshness sensor can be applied to determine the freshness level of white oyster mushrooms with various parameters. The evaluation of the freshness of white oyster mushrooms included shrinkage weight test, pH value, texture value, and sensory evaluation. In determining the value of mean green, the color change of an edible freshness sensor was observed visually and measured using the ImageJ program. The results showed that a change in the color of the freshness sensor is dark purple when the white oyster mushroom is fresh, light purple when the white oyster mushroom is still fresh, and green when the white oyster mushroom is no longer fresh. The value of mean green from the edible freshness sensor increase with decreasing the freshness level of white oyster mushroom.

Abstract

Antibiotics are the most widely used drugs for bacterial infectious diseases. Irrational use of antibiotics affects the increase in morbidity and mortality, resistance, and cost burden. One method that can be used to overcome the problem of resistance is to evaluate the use of antibiotics. This study aims to evaluate the use of antibiotics in the Sumbersari Puskesmas in 2018 which was conducted quantitatively using the ATC / DDD (Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical / Defined Daily Dose) method. This study uses a cross-sectional descriptive study with retrospective data on adult patients undergoing hospitalization. Data on antibiotic use was obtained from 455 medical records for the 2018 period. Data taken included patient profiles, diagnosis, and antibiotic prescribing. The quantity of antibiotic use was calculated by the DDD 100 patient-days formula and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the disease most commonly suffered by adult patients was typhoid (30.5%). Besides, there are 7 types of antibiotics prescribed with a total DDD value of 36.93 DDD / 100 patient-days. The highest DDD value is ceftriaxone with a DDD value of 16.90 DDD / 100 patient-days.
