Abstract

As one of the front lines in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses immediately face situations that cause psychological symptoms such as work stress. Work stress can be caused by several factors, including job satisfaction with the job, salary, co-workers, supervision, and promotion opportunities. Job satisfaction is not a protective factor in the formation of nurse-caring behavior. However, other factors include work involvement, nurses' psychology, work stress, and work motivation. If the nurse experiences work stress, it will result in the nurse's caring behavior being less than optimal. This study aims to analyze the relationship between job satisfaction and the caring behavior of nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic in the inpatient room at RSU dr. H. Koesnadi Bondowoso. The design of this study is a correlation study with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample used a purposive sampling of 104 nurses in non-COVID-19 inpatient rooms. This study was analyzed using the Spearman test. Spearman test results show the value of value = 0.029 (α <0.05) with a correlation coefficient of -0.214. Higher job satisfaction will cause nurses' caring behavior to be less than optimal, which is caused by several other factors of job satisfaction, such as work involvement, nurse psychology, work stress, and work motivation.

Abstract

The prevalence of smoking behavior in adolescents tends to be high and increases from year to year. Generally, adolescents know about the negative effects of smoking behavior, but they do not want to stop. It is related to the low feeling about himself or his sense of self (SOS). The study analyzed the correlation between a sense of self (SOS) and smoking behavior. The study used an observational cross-sectional approach. The population involved were male students in State Vocational Schools in Jember Regency amounted to 2,590, which was then calculated using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique (CI: 95%) and respondents were 209. The research instrument uses a modification of The Sense of Self Scales (α-Cronbach = 0.05; 11 question items) and smoking behavior questionnaire (α-Cronbach = 0.05; 21 question items). Statistical tests using the Spearman Rank Test (CI: 95%; α <0.05). The ethics of this study was given by the Nursing Ethics Commission (KEPK) FKG Jember University with the number: No. 643/UN25.8/KEPK/DL/2019. The results showed 75.59% (active smokers) and 24.41% (not smoking) adolescent sense of self (SOS) towards smoking behavior (Med: 17.00 with a value of min 2 and max 30; CI: 95%). The higher the sense of self (SOS) of adolescents, the teenage boys tend to avoid smoking behavior (p = 0,000; α <0.05; r = -0.665). Factors that can affect adolescent behavior are external and internal. Teenagers need a situation that peers can accept, so peers become an important influential factor. However, the most influential factor on a teenager's decision-making is internal factors, one of which is the sense of self (SOS). As community nurses, we must be able to promote and prevent of smoking behavior through efforts to increase adolescent's sense of self.

Abstract

Papaya fruit is generally marketed in a condition not yet ripe until past ripe. During the ripening process, the fruit undergoes changes such as increased sugar levels, changes in texture, changes in color on the skin and flesh of the fruit, changes in the rate of CO2 and ethylene production. Papaya fruit is declared rotten if it has a pH below 5.2. Methyl red (MR) indicator changes from red to yellow in the pH range (4.4 - 6.2) and bromocresol purple (BCP) has a pH of 5.2 (yellow) and a pH of 6.8 (purple). Papaya fruit stored at room temperature began to show rot on the 4th day accompanied by a change in the color of the smart bromocresol purple label to yellow, methyl red to red decreased in weight loss of 6.5332%, pH 4.85, hardness of 69.833 g / mm, and total dissolved solids 9.88% brik. At the temperature of the papaya fruit chiller stored for 9 days has shown foul on the 7th day with the same smart label color as room temperature, a decrease in weight loss of 6.4645%, pH 4.95, hardness of 83g / mm, and total dissolved solids 9.67% brik. The faster the color change of the smart label, the lower the quality of papaya on the packaging so that the fruit is not suitable for consumption.

Abstract

Diarrhea is defined clinically as increased bowel movements more than three times a day, accompanied by changes in stool consistency (becoming liquid) with or without blood within 24 hours. This disease often occurs in patients aged under five to children - children, usually lasts for several days, so that the body can lose important fluids such as water and salt needed for survival. Most patients die from diarrhea due to severe dehydration and fluid loss. This research was conducted to determine the pattern of drug prescription in pediatric diarrhea patients which includes the types and classes of drugs and how to administer the drug. The research method used was purposive sampling and using a retrospective descriptive approach. The sample of this study was diarrhea patients for children aged 0 months to 1 year who received treatment at the inpatient installation at RSUD dr. Abdoer Rahem Situbondo from January to December 2019. The treatment of diarrhea treatment included rehydration, antidiarrheal, antimicrobial, analgesic-antipyretic and other drug classes such as antacids, anticonvulsants and mucolytics. From 108 samples of pediatric diarrhea patients found 82 patients (75.96%) used antimicrobial drugs.

Abstract

Stigma toward mental illness is a complex construct incorporating personal, social, and structural. One of the social components that might significantly comprise stigma is the cultural aspect. Asian culture, generally, and Balinese culture, especially, is heavily embedded with the practice of paternalism which is a part of sexism. The practice of sexism as one form of discrimination might imply a high tendency to stigmatize people with mental illness. Therefore, it would be relevant to discuss the possible correlation between stigma and mental illness within the context of the predominant sexism-loaded paternalistic culture in Bali. This literature review covers several subtopics, including stigma and discrimination, sexism and its correlation with mental illness, and cultural aspects that might influence stigma concluded with recommendations for culturally sensitive mental health practice.
