Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab dua pertanyaan, yaitu; (1) Tipe-tipe Politeness Strategy apa saja yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas 10 dan guru bahasa Inggris di SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) tahun ajaran 2018/2019 dan (2) Apa saja tujuan dari penggunaan Politeness Strategy oleh siswa kelas 10 dan guru Bahasa Inggris SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif di mana participant penelitian adalah siswa kelas 10 dan guru bahasa Inggris SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Jumlah total siswa kelas 10 adalah 129 orang. Sedangkan, SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) hanya memiliki sejumlah 1 orang guru Bahasa Inggris yang mengampu seluruh kelas dari semua angkatan SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) di tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Di dalam proses pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan rekaman suara, pertanyaan kuisioner, interview dan lembar observasi sebagai instrumen. Hasil dari analisis menunjukkan bahwa adanya lima buah strategi yang ditemukan di dalam penelitian ini, yaitu Bald on-Record, Positive Politeness, Negative Politeness, Off-Record, dan Don’t do FTA. Strategi tersebut digunakan untuk beberapa tujuan, seperti: untuk menjelaskan keluhan dengan lembut, menunjukkan hubungan yang dekat, menunjukkan kemarahan dan membuat pendengar memahami apa yang dirasakan pembicara, menunjukkan minat mereka atau tidak dalam pelajaran dan menunjukkan kepuasan mereka terhadap jawabannya.Kata Kunci : Politeness Strategy, jenis, tujuan This study aimed at answering two questions; (1) What types of politeness strategy are used by the X grade students and the English teacher of SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) academic year 2018/2019 and (2) What are the purposes of politeness strategy used by the X grade students and the English Teacher of SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) academic year 2018/2019. The research used descriptive qualitative design. The subjects of study were the X grade students and the English teacher of SMK Negeri Bali Mandara (Bali Academy) academic year 2018/2019. In collecting data, the researcher used voice recording, questionnaire items, interview and observation sheet as the instruments. The analysis result showed that there were five strategies found in this study, which are Bald on-Record, Positive Politeness, Negative Politeness, Off-Record, and Don’t do FTA. Those strategies were used for some purposes, namely (1) to show their close relationship (2) to show their interest towards the lesson, (3) they wanted to cheer up the class, (4) to show their anger and made the hearer understood what their feeling was and (5) to show that they are interested or not with the lesson.keyword : Politeness Strategy, types, purposes

Abstract

Penelitian dan Pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dalam mengembangkan dan mengetahui kualitas dari materi tambahan bahasa Inggris untuk siswa berkemampuan di atas rata-rata kelas delapan di SMP N 7 Denpasar untuk mendukung implementasi Kurikulum 2013. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru Bahasa Inggris dan siswa berkemampuan di atas rata-rata kelas VIII di SMP N 7 Denpasar. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain Penelitian dan Pengembangan diadaptasi dari Sugiyono (2008) yang diterapkan hanya sampai tahap ketujuh. Dengan itu ditemukan bahwa ada tujuh unit yang perlu dikembangkan pada materi tambahan yang mengikuti silabus Kurikulum 2013, kriteria materi pembelajaran yang baik dari Tomlinson (1998), dan differentiated instruction. Materi yang dikembangkan menyisipkan nilai karakter dan budaya lokal. Konten di materi tambahan lebih bervariasi dalam hal latihan soal. Validasi dilaksanakan melalui uji ahli dengan hasil validitas konten 1.00 yang mengindikasikan bahwa produk memiliki validitas sangat tinggi. Uji coba produk diadakan untuk mengetahui kualitas produk melalui angket guru yang menunjukkan bahwa materi memenuhi kriteria yang sangat baik (229≥225). Serta, hasil angket siswa menunjukkan bahwa siswa memberi balikan positive terhadap produk.Kata Kunci : differentiated instruction, materi tambahan, siswa berkemampuan di atas rata-rata This Research and Development aimed at describing the process of developing and measuring the quality of supplementary English material for above average students of the eighth grade at SMP N 7 Denpasar to support the implementation of 2013 Curriculum. The subjects of this study were the English teacher and above average students of the eighth grade at SMP N 7 Denpasar, and the object of this study was supplementary English material. The research designed employed in this study was model of Research and Development adapted from Sugiyono (2008) which conducted until the seventh step. It was found that there were seven units that needed to be developed in supplementary material following syllabus of 2013 Curriculum, criteria of good learning material (Tomlinson,1998), and differentiated instruction. The material developed inserted character values and local content. The content in supplementary material should be more challenging and varied in term of exercises. The validation was done through expert judgment with Content Validity was 1.00 which indicated it has very high validity. Product try-out was conducted to know the quality of the product through teacher questionnaire which showed excellent material (229≥225). And, the result of student questionnaire showed that the students gave positive feedback toward the product.keyword : above average students, differentiated instruction, supplementary material

Abstract

This study aimed at describing the comparison of prefixes and suffixes in Nusa Penida Dialect and Sepang dialect which belong to derivation and inflection. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. Two informants sample of Nusa Penida were chosen based on a set of criteria. The data were collected based on three techniques, namely: observation, recording technique, and interview (listening and noting) technique. The results of the study showed that those ware difference: prefix {mə-}: NPD: tΛlʊh (V) become mΛtΛlʊh (V) and when prefix {mə-} + kΛndΛ (N) become mΛkΛndə (V). suffix {-In}: NPD klΛmbI (N) become klΛmbIn (V). suffix {-ē }: SP: tΛbIng (V) become tΛbIngΛ (V) and NPD: Jǝlǝmǝ (N) become JǝlǝmΛtē (N). The similarity prefix {mə-}: NPD and SP: {mə-} + jΛlΛn (N) become məjΛlΛn (V),. Prefix {m-} NP and SP: {m-} + bʊbʊh (N) become mʊbʊh (V). suffix {-Λŋ} NP and SP: sΛmpΛt (N) + {-Λŋ}→ become sΛmpΛtΛŋ (V). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa yang diajar dengan teknik cooperative script dan siswa yang diajar dengan teknik konvensional. Rancangan penelitian penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental of Posttest Only Control Group Study. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 180 siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 3 Banjar. 60 siswa dari dua kelas diambil sebagai sampel. Mereka ditetapkan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan undian. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata - rata skor kelompok eksperimen adalah 85,37 sedangkan nilai rata - rata kelompok kontrol adalah 76,63. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa t-diamati melebihi nilai t-kritis (4,376> 2,048). Dengan demikian hipotesis nol ditolak, artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman membacasiswa kelas VIII di SMP N 3 Banjar.Kata Kunci : Cooperative Script, Pemahaman Membaca This study aimed at investigating the effect of cooperative script technique on the students’ reading comprehension. The research design of this study was Quasi Experimental of Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population of this study was 180 students of the eighth grade students of SMP N 3 Banjar. Sixty students from two classes were taken as samples. They were assigned as an experimental group and a control group through lottery. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially by using SPSS 19. The result showed that the mean score of the experimental group was 85.37 while the mean score of the control group was 76.63. The result of t-test showed that the t-observed exceeded the t-critical value (4.376 > 2.048). Thus, the null hypothesis was rejected, which means there was significant effect on the eighth grade students’ reading comprehension of SMP N 3 Banjar.keyword : Cooperative Script, Reading Comprehension

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan persepsi siswa terhadap penyisipan pendidikan karakter pada buku EFL untuk siswa SMA Negeri se-Kecamatan Buleleng tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Subyek dari penelitian ini adalah 120 siswa SMA dari 4 sekolah se-Kecamatan Buleleng. Obyek penelitian ini adalah persepsi siswa terhadap penyisipan pendidikan karakter pada buku EFL. Data penelitian ini diperoleh menggunakan angket penelitian dan lembar pertanyaan wawancara tertulis tak terstuktur. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei dengan cara menyebarkan angket ke siswa. Data yang telah didapatkan, dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata dari semua siswa adalah 126.4 dan nilai standar deviasi dari semua siswa adalah 10.26.Hasil persentase dari perhitungan nilai rata-rata siswa adalah 84%. Dari data analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa mempunyai persepsi positif dengan kecendrungan yang tinggi terhadap penyisipan pendidikan karakter pada buku EFL.Kata Kunci : Persepsi siswa, pendidikan karakter, buku EFL. This research aimed to describe the students’ perception towards the insertion of character education in EFL text book for SMA Negeri Students in Kecamatan Buleleng in academic year 2016/2017. The subject of this research was 120 SMA students from 4 schools in Kecamatan Buleleng. The object of this research was students’ perception toward the insertion of character education in EFL text book. The data of this research were obtained by using questionnaire and non-organized written interview question sheet. This research was survey research by distributing the questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistic method. The research result showed that the average score of the students is 126.4 and the standard deviation score of the students is 10.26. The result of the calculation of the average score is 84%. It can be concluded that the students have high positive perception toward the insertion of character education in their EFL text bookkeyword : Students’ perception, character education, EFL text book.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi jenis materi berbasis e-learning yang dibutuhkan oleh siswa kelas 10 jurusan Pharmacy di SMKN 1 Kubutambahan.; (2) mendesain materi berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas 10 jurusan Pharmacy di SMKN 1 Kubutambahan; (3) mengetahui kualitas materi berbasis e-learning untuk siswa kelas 10 jurusan Pharmacy di SMKN 1 Kubutambahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan oleh Lee & Owen (2004). Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui analisis wawancara, kuisioner, observasi, dokumen, angket, dan uji ahli. Hasil data dari analisis wawancara, kuisioner, observasi, dokumen, dan angket dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, dan data dari uji ahli dianalisis dengan menggunakan Interrater Agreement Model dianalisis melalui hasil angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa membutuhkan materi yang lebih spesifik dan berbasis e-learning, (2) materi yang dikembangkan berbasis e-learning yakni dalam bentuk buku yang diintegrasikan dengan e-learning, (3) materi Bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dikategorikan sebagai materi berkualitas tinggi berdasarkan validitas isi. This study aimed at identifying kinds of e-learning based materials are needed by the tenth-grade students of Pharmacy Department of SMKN 1 Kubutambahan, designing the e-learning based materials for the tenth-grade students of Pharmacy Department of SMKN 1 Kubutambahan and know the quality of e-learning based materials for the tenth-grade students of Pharmacy Department of SMKN 1 Kubutambahan. This study was done by using the research and development design of Lee & Owen (2004). The data of the research was collected by using interview analysis, questionnaire, observation analysis, document analysis, questionnaire and expert judgments. The result of interview analysis, questionnaire, observation analysis, and document analysis were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and the data of expert judgments were analyzed by using Inter-rater Agreement Model. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran infleksi dan awalan dan akhiran derivasi dari Dialek Julah di desa Julah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif.Tiga contoh informan dari Dialek Julah dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang ditentukan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan tiga teknik, yaitu: observasi, teknik perekaman, dan teknik wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis awalan di Dialek Julah yang termasuk derivasi, awalan {mә-}, dan {ŋ-}. Ada sembilan jenis awalan di Dialek Julah yang termasuk infleksi, awalan {mә-}, {n-}, {ŋ-}, {ñ-}, {m-}, {Λ-}, {kΛ}, {pΛ-}, {pә}. Ada tiga jenis akhiran di Dialek Julah yang termasuk derivasi, akhiran {-Λŋ}, {-In}, {Λ-}. Ada dua jenis akhiran di Dialek Julah yang termasuk infleksi, akhiran {-ē}, dan {- nē}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Julah yang termasuk derivasi adalah awalan {mә-} dan{m-}dan akhiran {-Λŋ} dan {-In}. Awalan dan akhiran di Dialek Julah yang temasuk infleksi adalah awalan {n-}, {ŋ-},{-ñ}, {m-}{-Λ}, {-kΛ}, {m-}, {pΛ-} dan {pә-}dan akhiran {ē-}, dan{-nē}. Fungsi dari morfem di pembentukan kata dari awalan dan akhiran yang termasuk derivasi memiliki fungsi untuk mengubah kelas kata dan mengubah makna kata dari kata benda menjadi kata kerja dan dapat memiliki arti melakukan kegiatan. Awalan dan akhiran yang merupakan infleksi memiliki fungsi untuk mengubah kalimat dari pasif menjadi aktif, karena tidak mengubah makna dan kelas kata. There are 3 derivational suffixes; suffix {-Λŋ}, {-In}, {Λ-}. There are 2 kinds of inflectional suffixes; suffix {-ē}, and {- nē}. Prefixes and suffixes which belong to derivation morphemes: prefix {mә-}, {m-} and {kɅ-} and suffix {-Λŋ} and {-In}. Prefixes and suffixes which belong to inflection: prefix {n-}, {ŋ-},{-ñ}, {m-}{-Λ}, {-kΛ}, {m-}, {pΛ-} and {pә-} and suffix {ē-}, and {-nē}. The function of these morphemes serve in word forming are the prefixes and suffixes that belongs to derivational morphemes has a function to changes the class and the meaning of a word from noun to become verb and also have a meaning to do an activity. Meanwhile the prefixes and suffixes that belong to inflectional morphemes has a function to change the passive phrase into active phrase, because it does not change the meaning and class of the word.keyword : derivational prefixes and suffixes, inflectional prefixes and suffixes, Julah dialect

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan materi bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dengan menambahkan materi tentang makanan local khas Bali untuk siswa kelas 11 jurusan Jada Boga di SMK N 2 Singaraja; (2) mengukur kualitas produk e-learning. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan oleh Lee & Owen (2004). Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui analisis wawancara, observasi, dokumen, angket, uji ahli dan uji lapangan. Hasil data dari analisis wawancara, observasi, dokumen, dan angket dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, data dari uji ahli dianalisis dengan menggunakan Interrater Agreement Model, dan data dari studi lapangan dianalisis melalui hasil angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa jasa boga membutuhkan materi Bahasa Inggris khusus berbasis e-learning dengan tambahan materi tentang makanan local khas Bali dan dapat diintegrasikan dengan menggunakan Teknologi Infomasi dan Komunikasi (TIK); (2) materi Bahasa Inggris khusus berbasis e-learning dikategorikan sebagai materi berkualitas tinggi berdasarkan validitas isi dan uji lapangan.Kata Kunci : R & D, e-learning, Jasa Boga, Food & Beverage Product, Balinese Local Food This study is research and development study. The result of interview analysis, observation analysis, document analysis, and questionnaire were analyzed by using descriptive analysis, the data of expert judgments were analyzed by using Inter-rater Agreement Model, and the result of field study were analyzed by using questionnaire result. The study showed that (1) the students need English material that appropriate with their major department and appropriate with their career target in the future; (2) the e- learning based English materials with the insertion of Balinese local food for eleventh grade students categorized as high quality based on content validity and field test.keyword : R & D, e-learning, Jasa Boga, Food & Beverage Product, Balinese Local Food

Abstract

THE EFFECT OF DIGITAL FLASHCARD ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY OF THE FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SD NEGERI 1 & 2 PAKET AGUNG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 Oleh Putu Kusumawati, NIM 1312021225 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha, ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti pengaruh signifikan media digital flashcard pada pembelajaran Vocabulary terhadap siswa kelas 4 di SD Negeri 1 & 2 Paket Agung dalam tahun akademik 2016/2017. Desain dari penelitian ini menggunakan Post test only control group dari model Quasi Experimental Research. Adapun populasi dari penelitian ini melibatkan siswa SD Negeri 1 & 2 Paket Agung. Selain itu sampel dari penelitian tersebut terdiri dari 38 siswa kelas 4 di SD Negeri Paket Agung sementara SD Negeri 2 Paket Agung terdiri dari 40 siswa yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Data dari penelitian tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan hipotesis (independent t-test) menunjukkan bahwa hasil dari tobs = 3754>tcv = 2.000 sementara nilai signifikan data tersebut adalah .000 yang nilainya lebih rendah dari ɑ = 0.05. Hasil analisis data tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dalam penggunaan media Digital Flashcard terhadap penguasaan kosakata. The design of this study used post test only control group of quasi experimental research. Therefore the population of this study was SD Negeri 1 & 2 Paket Agung. Abstract

This study was a correlational study with ex-post facto research design, which aimed at investigating (1) the contribution of metacognitive awareness on students’ academic achievement, (2) the contribution of learning environment on students’ academic achievement, (3) the simultaneous contribution of metacognitive awareness and learning environment on academic achievement of the fourth semester students of English Education Department, Ganesha University of Education in academic years 2015/2016. Ex-post facto research design was a research design to investigate the correlation between independent variables and dependent variable by (1) determining the sample, (2) designing and developing the questionnaires, (3) distributing the questionnaires, (4) analyzing the obtained data, and (5) drawing the conclusion. The sample of the study was chosen by using simple random sampling technique, in which there were 145 students. The analysis was conducted based on multiple linear regression test supported by SPSS version 16 program. This study reveals that: (1) there is no contribution of metacognitive awareness on students’ academic achievement; (2) there is no contribution of learning environment on students’ academic achievement; and (3) there is no contribution of metacognitive awareness and learning environment on students’ academic achievement. keyword : metacognitive awareness, academic achievement, learning environment
