21st Century Literacy Skill of Information Technology and Computer Education Students Sulistiyarini, Dewi; Sabirin, Febrianto

This study aims to determine student perceptions related to technology and media literacy in the Information Technology and Computer Education (ITC Education) Program and to compare technology and media literacy based on the studentsâ€™ level and gender. The method used in this research is a survey method with data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and analysis using descriptive and comparative analysis. The population of this study were all 696 students of Information Technology and Computer Education and the sample of this study was 236 taken using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. The results showed that the technology and media literacy of ITC Education students belong to the quite good category. In this research, it is known that there are significant differences in technology and media literacy based on gender, while based on the level of students there are significant differences in media literacy but there is no difference in technology literacy.

Measurement of the outcomes becomes a vital part in OBE system to ensure the attainment of each outcome. In Indonesia, OBE was adopted in 2015 for higher education level. However, the changes were not accompanied with clear method to measure the outcomes, which became the urgency of this research. In this study, a preliminary method to measure student learning outcomes (SLO) and course learning outcomes (CLO) was presented. The measurement of SLO and CLO attainment was started by SLO mapping to courses, which usually had been done at curriculum design. Based on the mapping, formulation of CLO with a set of direct assessment was planned at the start of each course. After the teaching learning activities, a series of calculation was designed to obtain the attainment of SLO and CLO for each student, course, and whole study program. In the same time the final mark for GPA calculation of each student could also be obtained. The designed method could play an essential part in teaching-learning quality assurance and curriculum continuous improvement, which is aligned with both international and national accreditation criteria and standards. Furthermore, this study could provide insight for other study program in SLO and CLO attainment measurement.

This study aims to analyze the difference of studentsâ€™ study result between the joyful learning strategics using the experimental and project method seen from the creativity and self-discipline. The research method used in this study was the experimental method. The research design used in the study was a quasi-experimental research design. The sample was obtained by using the Cluster Sampling technique which consisted of two classes through scientific-based learning observations using project and experimental methods in different classes. The data collection on the learning outcomes of the knowledge aspect used to test techniques, the attitude aspect used the questionnaire technique, and the skill aspect used the observation sheet. The results of this study shows that project method influencing studentsâ€™ study and skill result better than the experimental method. The learning outcomes of studentsâ€™ knowledge and skills with creativity were better than those of students with low creativity. The learning outcomes of students with high self-discipline were better than those of students with low self-discipline.

This study aims to analyze the development of web-based mathematics teaching materials using Moodle from the Learning Management System (LMS) with a Contextual Approach to Geometry in the eighth grade of junior high school. This research is development research by adapting the Borg and Gall development model, consisting of expert validation, small group trials, and large group trials. It uses the t-test to measure product effectiveness. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and written tests. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively using descriptive and inferential statistics. The effectiveness test results show that the t-table value is 2,988, with a significant level of 0.012 smaller than 0.025 (0.012 <0.025). Based on these results, Ho is rejected, so there is an average difference between the experimental class and the control class. Based on these results, it can be stated that the product developed in the form of an E-mathematical module with a contextual approach effectively improves student learning outcomes in geometry material.

Education is a significant factor to shape human beings as a whole. The ability to think for humans plays an important role to develop information. The issue of lack of ability to think critically in Sahida Lemah Abang Vocational High School needed to be addressed. One learning model that can be utilized to guide students to think critically is Problem Based Learning (PBL) using an e-module as the resource of learning material. The study aims to examine the implementation of Problem Based Learning model using e-module and its influence on students' critical thinking ability.Â This study used a quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design as its research design. In using the research design, two observations have been conducted; one was before the experiment called Pre-Test (O1) and one after the experiment of this study called the post-test (O2). There are two samples in this study; one is the experimental group and the other is the control group. The study was done in Sahida Lemah Abang Vocational High School. The data was gathered by using tests and observation sheets of the learning process. The result in this study shows averagely that the implementation in each of the learning stages has gained 95.7% which is in the category of very good value. The most significant difference is from the fifth indicator "developing strategy and tactic", n gain of experimental class and control class is 5.83 and 0.23 respectively. As the result of the hypothesis test is Sig. 0.035 which means that there is a significant difference in students' ability to think critically between the students in the experimental class and the control class, the students in the experimental class think more critically than the students in the control class.

The purpose of this development research is to develop math worksheets using the SPLDV Calc application and to find out how to improve students' creative thinking skills with a 4D development model that is modified into 3D. The stages of this research development consist of: define, design, and develop. The results of this product development are (1) fulfilling the validity criteria based on the final validation percentage of 87% for LKS and 89% for the SPLDV Calc application; (2) meet the effectiveness criteria based on the results of student learning completeness to achieve classical mastery with a percentage of 86%; (3) meeting the criteria for practicality with a student response questionnaire percentage of 85% giving a positive response. The developed worksheets can improve students' creative thinking skills, it is indicated that there is an increase in the pretest to posttest scores from the N-Gain test score of 0.73 with high interpretation, so that the student worksheets can be used by students in learning This shows that android-based worksheets make it easier to learn mathematics.

Multimedia Assisted Analogy: Learning Approach to Developing Mathematical Representation Skills Dwirahayu, Gelar; Tantri K., Dyah; Afidah, Afidah

This study aims to examine the application of mathematics learning using a multimedia-assisted analogy approach in developing mathematical representation. The sample used was grade 7 students of two classes, totaling 44 students. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with randomized posttest only. Two classes were randomly selected as samples, namely class VII-1 as the experimental class and class VII-3 as the control class. The analysis was performed using the t-test at Î± = 5%, obtained t-count = 4.205> t-table = 2.018. The results indicate that the mathematical representation ability of students whose learning uses the analogy approach is significantly higher than students whose learning uses a conventional approach or in other words, the multimedia-assisted analogy approach can be used as alternative learning in developing student representation abilities especially in algebraic material.

On Characterizing School Leaders: Evidence from Hindang District, Leyte Division, Philippines Casinillo, Leomarich F; Suarez, Michael G

This study was conducted to characterize school leaders at Hindang District, Leyte Division, Philippines. By complete enumeration, the study considered all active elementary teachers at Hindang District. Primary data was collected through a developed structured questionnaire in regards to the various characteristics of a school leader which serves as an independent variable of the study. On the other hand, secondary data was collected at Department of Education regarding the elementary school classifications at Hindang District as follows: good, better and outstanding. With the aid of ordered logit models, the study highlighted some influencing factors of school classification governed by school leaders. Results showed that on the average, elementary schools in Hindang District are considered to be â€œbetterâ€ based on the DepEd classification. This implies that these schools have a room for improvement with the help of an effective school leaders. Based on the constructed ordered logit models, it is shown that a personal attribute of a school leader has an inverse effect in outstanding school classification. In addition, it is revealed that result-focus, teamwork and people development were significant factors in achieving an outstanding performance in school. Hence, a leader must be a results driven that has theÂ ability to create momentum based on their ultimate goal. Furthermore, school leaders must set clear directions, establish expectations since they are in a position to shape the goals, direction and structure of schools.

This study aims to describe teaching materials based on local wisdom in fostering a character of environmental care in students. Local wisdom can be interpreted as a local culture that guides life. The problem in this study refers to the teaching materials used by teachers based on local wisdom in fostering character in students. The method used for this research is qualitative by using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the analysis of teaching material needs based on local wisdom are analyzing teaching materials for class V SD which includes aspects of mapping Core Competencies and Basic Competencies. In conclusion, analyzing the need for local wisdom-based teaching materials, such as teaching materials that have a variety of materials that can be integrated with local wisdom, can activate students in learning, the need to develop teaching materials based on local wisdom.

Learning Media Development of Analyzing Poetry-Building Element Using Sparkol Videoscribe Septianti, Anggi Surya; Purnomo, Mulyadi Eko; Indrawati, Sri

This study aims to develop learning media to analyze the building blocks of poetry by using sparkol videoscribe in 10th grade students. This research is a development research (R&D). This research method is used to produce certain products, and test the effectiveness of these products. Data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique was carried out by analyzing the questionnaire which was seen from the results of the high and low percentage of the needs desired by students and the next teacher. Based on the results of product trials, it shows an increase in learning outcomes of 36.76, with a pretest mean of 41.96 while postest was 78.92. Based on these findings it can be concluded that the development of learning media to analyze the building blocks of poetry using sparkol videoscribe has an effect on the learning outcomes of 10th grade students.
