Abstract

This research aims at finding out  the differences and interaction of  the implementation of teaching media, mathematical capability, and critical thinking towards the students’ learning achievement. The method used in this research is experimental method. The population was all IV semester students of Physics Education Department of IKIP PGRI Pontianak in the academic year of 2015/2016. The writer used cluster random sampling to get the sample. Data analysis was done by using three ways anava varians  analysis. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) there are differences of cognitive and affective learning achievement to the students who are taught by using guided inquiry model with real and virtual laboratory; 2) there are differences of students  cognitive learning achievement  with high and low mathematical capability; 3) there are differences to psychometric learning achievement to the students who have high and low critical thinking; 4) There is no interaction between Guided Inquiry Model  using real and virual laboratory, high and low mathematical capability, and  high and low critical thinking towards the students  learning achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pebelajaran IPA dengan pendekatan saintifik antara siswa yang belajar melalui model learning cycle dan discovery learning, antara siswa yang mempunyai aktivitas belajar tinggi dan rendah, antara siswa yang mempunyai motivasi belajar tinggi dan rendah, serta interaksi-interaksinya terhadap prestasi belajar pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Masaran Sragen tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling sejumlah 2 kelas. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode tes tertulis untuk prestasi belajar aspekpengetahuan dan metode observasi untuk motivasi, aktivitas, prestasi belajar aspek sikap, dan keterampilan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis anava 2x2x2. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Klasifikasi Benda. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah (1) ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan pendekatan saintifik melaui model learning cycle dan discovery learning terhadap prestasi belajar; (2) tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan tingkat aktivitas siswa baik tinggi maupun rendah terhadap prestasi belajar aspek pengetahuan dan keterampilan; (3) ada pengaruh yang signifikanmotivasi belajar tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar  aspek sikap dan keterampilan; (4) ada interaksi antara pendekatan saintifik menggunakan model discovery learning dan learning cycle dengan aktivitas belajar tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa; (5) ada interaksi antara pendekatan saintifik menggunakan model discovery learning dan learning cycle dengan motivasi tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar aspek pengetahuan dan keterampilan; (6) tidak ada interaksi antara aktivitas belajar tinggi dan rendah dengan motivasi belajar tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa; (7) tidak ada interaksi antara pendekatan saintifik dengan model pembelajaran yang diterapkan, aktivitas dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian mengembangkan tes yang berorientasi pada keterampilan argumentasi.  Instrumen tes digunakan untuk memetakan kemampuan argumentasi siswa dan pemahaman siswa tentang argumentasi.  Instrumen tes berorientasi pada argumentasi dikembangkan berdasarkan skema argumentasi Toulmin.  Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas XI Kota Bandar Lampung.   Sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling untuk 37 siswa. Berdasarkan perhitungan dan analisis statistik item konten tiap elemen perlu diperbaharui lagi dan divalidasi oleh ahli argumentasi ilmiah dan ahli konten materi.  Hasil pengembangan tes argumentasi ilmiah ini menjadi landasan untuk menyusun instrumen tes yang lebih lengkap sehingga dapat mengukur semua struktur pendukung komponen argumentasi.

Abstract

Analytical thinking is a fundamental skill in education and which needs to be developed. This research would describe the effectiveness of process-oriented guided ınquiry learning (POGIL) to improve students’ analytical thinking skills on the topic of excretory system. This study used Research and Development (R&D) design. It was conducted on the 11th grade students of senior high school in Ngawi, East Java in 2017/2018 academic year with one group pre-test and post-test design. The data collection techniques used were validation, observation, and test. The data were analyzed descriptively, whereby the analysis result was tested with the Gain test. The result showed that the students’ analytical thinking skills was significantly increased as stated by the N-gain score. In control class, there were 2 students (6.7%) whose N-gain score was in the low category, 25 students (83.3%) whose N-gain score was in the medium category, and 3 students (10%) whose N-gain score was in the high category. In the experimental class, there were 21 students (70%) who got N-gain score in the medium category, and 9 students (30%) who got N-gain score in the high category. The results of this research showed that the students analytical thinking skills were different after the implementation of POGIL method. Therefore, it could be concluded that the POGIL was effective to improve students’ analytical thinking skills on the excretory system in senior high school. The information obtained from this research can be used as a tool to improve students’ analytical thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstrak   Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan mengharapkan Kurikulum 2013 dapat dilaksanakan tahun ini. Implementasi Kurikulum 2013 membawa berbagai konsekunsi praktis, sosialisai harus berjalan lancar, perlu persiapan yang matang di berbagai aspek. Dalam Kurikulum 2013 terdapat pengurangan jumlah Komptensi Dasar yang akan dicapai, namun terdapat penambahan jam pelajaran per minggunya. Guru dituntut menggunakan pembelajaran yang inovatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran siswa aktif (PSA). Kurukulum 2013 diimplementasikan secara bertahap, dan dilakukan sosialisasi secara berkelanjutan. Persiapan implementasi Kurikulum 2013, antara lain dilakukan dengan cara memberikan  berbagai pelatihan bagi para guru. Pelatihannya meliputi penyusunan rencana pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan yang sesuai dengan amanat Kurikulum 2013. Kendala yang muncul berkaitan dengan sarana dan prasarana, serta gairah inovasi guru perlu ditingkatkan Untuk menunjang pembelajaran siswa aktif, pada bidang studi fisika dapat dikembangkan pendekatan pembelajaran penemuan. Bagi LPTK, mahasiswa yang akan PPL dapat dipersiapkan dan dilatih dengan berbagai pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan amanat Kurikulum 2013. Pengembangan bahan ajar sangat diperlukan untuk menunjang pembelajaran di sekolah. Penelitian dan pengembangan di bidang pendidikan merupakan penelitian yang menghasilkan produk-produk pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada kebutuhan di lapangan. Produk pemngembangan bahan ajar yang dapat berupa modul, media pembelajaran dapat dihasilkan oleh mahasiswa LPTK dalam kegiatan penelitiannya

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difference of students’ study result between the joyful learning strategics using the experimental and project method seen from the creativity and self-discipline. The research method used in this study was the experimental method. The research design used in the study was a quasi-experimental research design. The sample was obtained by using the Cluster Sampling technique which consisted of two classes through scientific-based learning observations using project and experimental methods in different classes. The data collection on the learning outcomes of the knowledge aspect used to test techniques, the attitude aspect used the questionnaire technique, and the skill aspect used the observation sheet. The results of this study shows that project method influencing students’ study and skill result better than the experimental method. The learning outcomes of students’ knowledge and skills with creativity were better than those of students with low creativity. The learning outcomes of students with high self-discipline were better than those of students with low self-discipline.

Abstract

Module is one of the teaching materials that really helps students in learning process. Based on a case study that had been conducted, 73.3% of students are greatly helped by the use of learning modules. However, the modules used in schools are still lacking in emerging 21st-century’s skills, especially in critical and creative thinking skills. Thus, the researcher conducted this research to find out the effectiveness of using module as a teaching material to improve critical and creative thinking skills of high school students. The method used is quantitative research with normality and homogeneity prerequisite tests and the N-gain test to check the effectiveness of using module in Physic learning process. The data used is the students’ learning result. The researcher uses Shapiro-Wilk normality test which shows the significance value of pretest is 0.153 and posttest is 0.052. Based on the homogeneity test using Levene's Test, the significance is 0.615 and indicating homogeneous data. The average N-gain value for all aspects of critical thinking skills is 0.68, so the improvement is in moderate category. Meanwhile, the average N-gain value for all aspects of creative thinking skills is 0.47 and the betterment is also in moderate category. According to the results, it can be concluded that Physics Module with problem-based learning has been effectively used in Physics learning to improve critical and creative thinking skills of high school students in moderate category.

Abstract

Physics learning aims to provide provision experience and skill process, increase the creativity and scientific attitude of students. A scientific attitude is needed in learning science, including physics, because when students have a high scientific attitude, understanding of the concept and learning outcomes will increase. The purpose of this article is to look at the profile of students' scientific attitudes on the dimensions of attitudes, critical attitudes to facts, critical thinking, respect for data / facts, open thinking and cooperation in learning physics. This study aims to describe the scientific attitude profile of the XII grade students of SMA YPPK Teruna Bakti. The method used in this research is quantitative quantitative. The data was collected through a non-test instrument in the form of a questionnaire based on four of the six dimensions of scientific attitudes according to Harlen. The test was conducted on 35 students. The test results showed that the total average level of mastery was 73%. Scientific attitude per dimension, for curiosity dimension 75%, critical thinking dimension 72%, critical thinking dimension to data / facts 67%, open thinking dimension 77% and cooperation 74%.Keywords: Scientific Attitude, Assessment, Physics

Abstract

The development of innovative problem-based teaching materials is a strategic effort to enhance students' critical thinking skills and learning achievement, particularly in understanding abstract concepts such as chemical bonding. This study aims to describe the results of the development stage, the feasibility, and the effectiveness of a problem-based chemistry module assisted by concept mapping in improving the critical thinking skills and learning achievement of high school students on the topic of chemical bonding. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall model, modified into nine stages, and was tested in two private schools in Surakarta. Validation results indicated that the module was considered highly valid by experts and practitioners, with scores of 0.95 for content, 0.98 for presentation, 0.96 for language, and 0.94 for media aspects. The feasibility of the module, based on student responses, reached an average of 82.12%, and teacher responses 85.42%, both categorized as very good. The effectiveness of the module was demonstrated by the increase in pretest and posttest results, with N-gain scores of 0.37 (moderate category) for critical thinking skills and 0.69 (moderate category) for learning achievement. Therefore, the problem-based chemistry module assisted by concept mapping is considered feasible and effective for use in teaching chemical bonding at the high school level.
