Abstract

Pappaseng is a local value of the Bugis-Makassar community that contains values about life that encompass moral and ethical values that are expected to shape students' character amid the current globalization. The study aims to describe the procedure of internalization of Pappaseng values in IPS learning as an attempt to cultivate the student's character. Qualitative research methods with the type of field research are used to answer research problems. Data was collected through direct classroom observation, interviews with teachers and students, and identifying teacher learning tools. The results showed that there were several Papapseng values in the learning process, namely akkeagamang (religious) value, lempu (honest) value, warani (brave) value, siri (self-esteem) value, sipakatau (appreciate) value, and getteng (tight) value. The planting of its values in learning is inseparable from supporting and inhibiting factors. Teachers carry out the internalization of its values in social studies learning by modifying and improvising social studies teaching methods and materials that are relevant to Pappaseng spontaneously without being stated in the learning tool or lesson plan.

The qualitative data trustworthiness was enhanced by source triangulation involving 3 sources, namely the Principal, Social Studies teacher, and disaster preparedness school manager. The quantitative data were analyzed using the descriptive statistical technique. The qualitative data were used to support the quantitative data. The results of the study are as follows. 1) The level of preparedness of students of SMP Negeri 2 Pakem is high with a mean score of 141.93. The percentages of the student's preparedness to face the Mount Merapi eruption disaster are very high (34%) and high (66%). 2) The efforts made by the school to improve the preparedness of students of SMP Negeri 2 Pakem students include the provision of disaster socialization and simulation every year, the integration of disaster preparedness materials into the curriculum of learning, the school's provision of facilities related to the disaster preparedness school and an MoU between SMP Negeri 2 Pakem and SMP Negeri 2 Ngaglik as a buffer school during the Mount Merapi eruption disaster. 3) The school's constraints in improving preparedness are, among others, that not all materials can be integrated with the implementation of the disaster preparedness school, simulation and socialization conducted only once a year are considered not being maximal enough, and there is a student shift every year.

Abstract

The massive development of digital technology has changed aspects of human life, including education. Thus, in the face of the digital era, technology is paramount to increasing learning effectiveness. One of the integrated technologies is stop motion-based Macromedia Flash, a learning media that offers interactive learning experiences through moving animations. This research aims to develop student-centred aspects of feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness based on constructivism theory. The research uses the ADDIE model development method. The results of media and material validation on the stop motion-based Macromedia Flash show that this media is declared "feasible" with an overall score of 83%. Regarding practicality and efficiency, the stop motion-based Macromedia Flash achieved a score of 104% (very feasible) and 60.4% (high), respectively. In addition, the use of this media supports constructivism theory by demonstrating its activeness in social studies learning. This not only improves learners' understanding of the material but also has the potential to enrich their nautical character development.

Abstract

Utilizing technology in an effective and interactive learning process is driven by the development of science and technology. The teacher's contribution in learning activities as a facilitator and mediator provides facilities for ease of learning. Learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 is one of the interactive multimedia options that can be used in the learning process. This type of development research is Research and Development (R&D). The development of learning media is carried out through ten steps in Research & Development (R & D) consisting of: 1) Potential and Problems, 2) Data Collection, 3) Product Design, 4) Design Validation, 5) Design Revision, 6) Trial Initial Product, 7) Product Revision, 8) End-Use Trial, 9) Final Product Revision and 10) Mass Production. Testing learning materials and media validation has met the very feasible category. This is evidenced by the results of the material expert validation of 90 with a percentage score of 85.71% and an average score of 4.29. The validation of media experts is equal to the percentage score of 87.86% and the average score is 4.39, indicating that the category group is very feasible. Initial product testing in small classes has validly met the attractiveness and effectiveness categories in use. This is evidenced by the total eligibility score by students from user data with a percentage of 83.08%. Based on the criteria in the eligibility table according to the Likert scale with a percentage of 83.08%, it is in the very feasible category. Testing the final product of developing interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 in large classes has been valid to meet the eligibility and effectiveness categories in use.

Abstract

Learning outcomes play a crucial role in the educational process as they serve as indicators of students' learning success, often expressed in the form of grades or scores. However, at SMP Negeri 6 Yogyakarta, the social studies learning outcomes, particularly in the knowledge aspect, have not reached their full potential and require enhancement. One approach to address this issue is by implementing the Numbered Head Together learning method. This research project aims to assess the impact of the Numbered Head Together Method on improving social studies learning outcomes, specifically in the knowledge domain, within class VII C at SMP Negeri 6 Yogyakarta during the 2022/2023 academic year. The study adopts a Classroom Action Research (PTK) design and involves 32 grade VII C students as research participants. The research process consists of two cycles, encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection methods include both tests and non-tests, with instruments such as written tests, performance appraisal sheets, and product appraisal sheets. Data validity is ensured through the triangulation method technique. Qualitative analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification, were used to analyze the research data. The results demonstrate the positive impact of implementing the Numbered Head Together method on social studies learning outcomes in class VII C at SMP Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. Notably, there was a consistent increase in the percentage of students achieving social studies learning outcomes of KKTP≥80 throughout the cycles. Additionally, this research project contributed to enhancing students' skills in critical discussions and the creation of mind maps.
