Abstract

Hidden Markov model is a development of the Markov chain where the state cannot be observed directly (hidden), but can only be observed, a set of other observations and combination of fuzzy logic and Markov chain to predict Rupiah exchange rate against the Dollar. The exchange rate of purchasing and exchange rate of saling is divided into four states, namely down large, down small, small rise, and large rise are symbolized respectively S1, S2, S3, and S4. Probability of sequences of observation for 3 days later is computed by forwarding and Backward Algorithm, determine the hidden state sequence using the viterbi algorithm and estimate the HMM parameters using the Baum Welch algorithm. The MAPE result exchange rate of purchase of FTS-Markov Chain is 1,355% and the exchange rate of sale of FTS-Markov Chain is 1,317%. The sequences of observation which optimized within exchange rate of  purchase is X* = {S3,S3,S3}, within exchange rate of sale is also X* = {S3,S3,S3}. Keywords: Exchange rate, FTS-Markov Chain, Hidden Markov Model

Abstract

The aims of this research is to improve students’ strategic mathematic ability. This research was conducted according to Class VII A Mathematic teacher’s explanation that students unable to find the mathematic relation from question and developing an effective solving method. It was supported by the Class VII A students’ mid test result, students found it difficult to solve a problem because 85% of 35 students unable to solve it. That means 30 students of Class VII A do not have the ability in strategic mathematic competence. This research is a Class Action Research (CAR) that conducted collaboratively. The subject of this research is Class VII students of SMP N 11 Yogyakarta that consists of 35 students. The object of this research is mathematics learning using Metaphorical Thinking approach to improve students’ mathematic strategic competence ability. This research consist of 2 cycles, there are 3 meetings for every cycle. Research data obtained from learning observation sheet, interview result, field note, written test and documentation. The result of this research show that students’ strategic mathematic competence is improving according to first and second cycle last test’s score. Average score pre-research which taken from mid semester test of Class VII A students is 66,22 with students’ KKM achievement percentage is 25,71%, while in the end of first cycle the average strategic mathematic competence ability test result improved into 74,14 with students’ KKM achievement percentage is 57,14%. Students’ strategic mathematic ability average score achieve the KKM on the second cycle with average score 84,74. The percentage of students’ which achieve KKM on second cycle is 77,14%. Keyword: Metaphorical Thinking, Strategic Mathematic Competence

Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) teachers' understandings of skill competency assessment; 2) the application of skills competency assessment in mathematics learning; and 3) teachers' problematics in applying skills competency assessments. This research used the qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The study was conducted in the academic year 2017/2018 and implemented in 9 junior high schools / Islamic junior high schools in the DIY region. Research subjects were 11 mathematics teachers who are selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collected through structured interviewing methods, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using inductive logic, from the particular to the general. The results show that: 1) teachers' understandings of skills competency assessment are quite good. Teachers understood the various instruments and assessment techniques but have not understood the assessment rubric used in each instrument yet; 2) the application of skills competency assessment has already done well but some were still constrained and have not accorded to the assessment standards; 3) teachers' problematics in applying skill competency assessment are: problems of understanding skill competency assessment, time, administrative complexity, student condition, assessment planning including the development of instrument and assessment rubric, and the implementation of skill competency assessment. Keywords: assessment execution, skill competency assessment, Curriculum 2013

Abstract

AbstractThe research was a quantitative research with experimental method. The population of research were all tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Wiradesa in the 2018/2019 academic year. The research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model to the ability to understand mathematical concepts of Grade X students of SMAN 1 Wiradesa. The results showed that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students in classes taught using the AIR learning model achieved classical completeness, and the average value of the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the experimental class was better than the average value of the conceptual understanding ability in the control class. Based on these two results, it could be concluded that the application of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition learning model was effective on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of Grade X students of SMAN 1 Wiradesa. Keywords: AIR, the Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the mathematical representation ability and learning independence through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in students of class XI IPS 1 SMA N 1 Pekalongan. This type of research is a classroom action research study subjects were students of class XI IPS 1 SMA N 1 Pekalongan consisting of 25 students. This can be seen from the students' mathematical representation ability in linear program material by increasing data analysis (N-Gain) from the pre-survey to the first cycle obtained an average pre-test of 59.2 and an average post-test of 64.8 so that gain 0.30 with a percentage of 30% in the low category. Furthermore, the first cycle to the second cycle obtained an average pre-test of 64.8 and an average post-test of 77.4 so that a gain of 0.53 with a percentage of 53% in the medium category. Independence of student learning from pre-survey to the first cycle with a percentage of 54.6% increased to 65.05% with a high category. Furthermore, from cycle, I to cycle II with a percentage of 65.05% increased to 82.9% with a very high category. Keywords:Mathematical Representation, Self-regulated Learning, RME

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical analysis skills, individual and classical learning completeness, and student learning interest in the tangent material of the VIII class MTs Usshuludin Singkawang by applying the Synectic learning model. This study uses a Quasi-Experimental design using the Nonequivalent Control Group form, the population in this study are all classes of VIII MTs Usshuludin Singkawang consisting of 5 classes totaling 149 people. The sample was taken using the Random Sampling Cluster technique, while the sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII B (29 students) as an experimental class and class VIII D (30 students) as a control class. The data analysis technique used was the 1 sample t-test to calculate individual completeness, the proportion test to calculate classical completeness, the two independent sample t-tests to calculate differences in mathematical analysis ability improvement, and the one variable t / z test to calculate student interest in learning. The results showed: 1) There was mastery learning both individually and classically that got direct learning using synectic models, 2) There was a difference in the improvement of students 'mathematical analysis skills, the increase in the experimental class was higher than in the control class, 3) The students' interest in learning after being applied to learn using synectic learning models can reach more than 70% of the ideal value. Keywords: Synectic Learning Model, mathematical analysis ability, mastery learning, student interest in learning
