Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of validity of mathematics learning tools using the Problem Posing model oriented to mathematical problem solving abilities on statistics which has been tested valid. The development model in this study uses the Plomp model which has three stage, namely the Preliminary Research Phase, the Prototype Phase, the Assessment Phase. The data collection techniques used were  the validation of learning tools. The data collection instrument used was a validation sheet. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statiscal analysis technique. The result of the research validation analysis by three validators obtained an average validation every RPP of each validator was 100% for aspect of indicator one as measured by guttman scale of which are very valid criteria  and 80,36% for aspect of indicator two to seven as measured by likert scale of which are valid criteria, and for the average validation every LKPD of each validator was 93,33% for aspect of indicator one as measured by guttman scale of which are very valid criteria and 75% aspect of indicator two to three as measured by likert scale of which are valid criteria. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the development of learning tools using the Problem Posing  model oriented to the mathematical problem solving abilities has been tested for its validity.Keywords: LKPD, RPP, Problem Posing

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' mathematical representation abilities and motivation by applying Think Pair Share (TPS) learning models with an Open-ended approach. This type of quasi-experimental research with the design of the Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The experimental and control classes were given a pretest and a posttest to see the difference in improvement between the two. This study's population was students of class XI, and the sample was not chosen purely randomly, namely by purposive sampling, and two classes were chosen. The instrument used in this study was a test of students' mathematical representation ability and a student motivation questionnaire. Data analysis using statistical tests namely Independent T-test and descriptive analysis in the form of a percentage formula and the average score. The results of data analysis show that: (1) There is a difference in the increase in students' mathematical representation abilities, and the increase in the experimental class is higher than the control class; (2) The average student motivation in each indicator is in the very high category of 92,14%.Keyword: Think Pair Share, Open-ended Approach, Representation, Motivation

Abstract

This study explores the hidden mathematical concept of the activities of the rice farmers in Panggang Village. The research method is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The research location is in Panggang Hamlet, Bantul. The location was chosen because the area is an agricultural area that has been regulated by the Government. The research subjects were the Dukuh and Panggang Dusun farmers and were selected purposively. Agricultural activities contain mathematical concepts that arise when using rice seeds, nursery preparation, fertilizing, and tandur. This study's findings are that there are mathematical concepts that exist in agricultural activities, including geometry and comparisons. The results of the research can be used as teaching materials to facilitate learning for students.Keywords: ethnomathematics, geometry, comparison, contextual, realistic mathematics education

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students, because they have difficulty in solving the problems given, especially trigonometry material and the lack of interest of students in participating in the mathematics learning process. In addition, teachers and students have not utilized information technology optimally, so efforts are needed to improve student learning outcomes by applying MEA (Means-End Analysis) learning. The research subjects were all class VIII students of SMA Negeri 1 Pekalongan in the 2018/2019 academic year. Research sample is class XI b, which amounted to 22 students. The purpose of this classroom action research to determine the increase in learning outcomes of students who get the MEA (Means-End Analysis) learning model assisted by Schoology. Based on the results of the class action research conducted and the discussion that has been described, it can be concluded that the MEA (Means-End Analysis) learning model assisted by Schoology can improve the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Pekalongan in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Learning outcomes have increased from pre-survey to cycle I wherein the survey that is 31,82% to 45,45%, students who are thoroughly studied have increased by 13,63%. in cycle II the learning outcomes of students increased from Cycle I is 45,45% to 95,45%, students who have completed learning have increased by 50%.Keywords: learning MEA (Means-End Analysis), Schoology, learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of identifying elementary student teacher candidates using constructive and deconstructive strategies. This study's research subjects were 6th-semester PGSD students of Mataram University who attended elementary mathematics learning courses. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data collected in the form of test results about patterns and interviews. Then the data is analyzed. The results of the data analysis showed that there was no difference between the process of identifying student patterns using either constructive or deconstructive strategies. The process carried out by students is seeing the shape of the image compiler, making rules for each image, then determining the next pattern rules based on the rules that have been made previously in each image.Keywords: pattern identification, constructive strategy, deconstructive strategy, figural pattern

Abstract

This research is a study that discusses the influence of mathematics on grade VII students—learning outcomes at SMP NEGERI 3 Kota Bengkulu. This study's population was all students of class VII SMP NEGERI 3 Bengkulu City, which consisted of 130 famous students in 5 classes. Samples were taken using the random sampling technique. Then, a sample of class VII.2 was chosen, possibly 20 students. This study using a questionnaire and documentation. The data were obtained using a questionnaire, while the documentation in this study was used to obtain learning data obtained from teacher data in the form of daily math test scores. In the research analysis, prerequisite tests were used, such as the normality test, linearity test, and product moment test with SPSS version 22. The analysis results obtained a value of 0.754, which indicates that the relationship's level is healthy between the two variables. There is a positive sign indicating that the property is valuable. Positive and unidirectional. The results of the analysis using Pearson products when the significance value was obtained 0.000. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the effect of mathematics on learning outcomes at SMP NEGERI 3 Kota Bengkulu.Keywords: Mathematics anxiety, learning outcomes

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the influence of independence for the mathematics  student learning in SMP Al Irsyad Surakarta. The subject of this research are all students of class 8 SMP Al Irsyad Surakarta, which consisted of 120 students and the samples chosen  with random sampling are 49 students in 3 class in the school year 2020/2021. Samples  were taken using the Random sampling technique. The data of independence for the mathematics student learning using a questionnaire. This study using quasi experimental research. The prerequisite using the normality test and linearity test. The normality test by using Kolmogorov Smirnov and the linearity test by using Anova. When the a prerequisite fulfilled, so followed by the Linear Regression. The result showed there are significant impact study of independent learning. Independent learning have a positive influence of mathematics students, although the result is still below 50%. This may be affected by the lack of knowledge students learn about independence, so not been undertaken in full. The conclusions obtained that students could be more improve mathematics learning outcomes.  Keywords: learning, independent learning, mathematics, learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) describe students' mathematical literacy skills in algebraic material in terms of learning independence. 2) to describe the factors that affect students' mathematical literacy skills in algebraic material in terms of learning independence. This research method is qualitative. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII-A at SMP Negeri 1 Singkawang. The data collection instruments used a learning independence questionnaire, a mathematical literacy test, and an interview sheet. Data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman Model, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that 1) The students' mathematical literacy ability in terms of their high learning independence character had an average of 69.44 (high category). Most of the students were unable to do the reasoning and argumentation stages. 2) The students' mathematical literacy skills in terms of their moderate learning independence character had an average of 57.41 (moderate category). Most of them were unable to develop strategies for solving problems. 3) The students' mathematical literacy ability in terms of their low learning independence character has an average of 46.11 (moderate category). Most of them are not capable at the mathemathising stage. 4) factors that affect mathematical literacy skills in terms of the character of independent learning in algebra material are generally influenced by internal factors, namely factors from the students themselves, students are less able to understand, accept, or digest subject matter, students have difficulty planning strategies in problem solving both in using the formula to be used, the rules in operation, do not provide the right steps in answering the questions.Keywords: mathematical literacy skills, learning independence

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' learning outcomes who are taught using the scientific approach method in groups and not in groups. This research is quantitative. The study population was grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 03 Bengkulu City. In this study, sampling was carried out by purposive sampling because not all samples have criteria that match the phenomenon under study. The two classes chosen were Class VIII A and VIII B, each of which contained eight students. Each student gets material based on the same curriculum, the two samples in the same class, the teacher uses the same method, the characteristics of learning, and the students' initial abilities. Collecting data used in this study using observation and test questions. Based on the results of the above data using the non-parametric Mann Whitney Test, it was found that the results of learning mathematics in class A were greater with a mean Rank of 8.63, while in class B with a mean Rank of 8.38. Based on the output test statistics, it is known that the Asymp Sig. (2.talled) value is 0.916 <0.05. The hypothesis is accepted. It can be said that there is a significant difference in results between class A and class B with the effect of learning in the experimental class and the control class.Keywords: Scientific Approach, study, Circle

Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to develop online-based mathematics teaching materials to improve problem-solving skills in distance learning in the pandemic era and (2) to determine the level of validation of the development of online-based mathematics teaching materials to improve problem-solving skills based on expert validation tests. This R&D research uses the ADDIE model which consists of analysis (analysis), design (planning), development (development), implementation (implementation), and evaluation (evaluation). However, the implementation in this research only reached the development stage. The subjects of this study were class teachers and 5th grade students of SD Negeri Plumutan, Bancak, Semarang Regency. The results of this study are (1) there are three stages in this research and development, namely analyzing the characteristics and initial abilities of students, planning and making teaching materials with the weebly website, and developing by conducting expert validation tests. (2) based on the validation test, material experts give a percentage of 85% with the criteria of "very good", teaching materials experts get a percentage of 90% with the criteria of "very good", and material experts get a percentage of 75% with the criteria of "good".Keywords: development, teaching materials, mathematics, online learning, weebly
