Jurnal Tematik merupakan media komunikasi para akademisi, guru dan pemerhati dunia pendidikan dalam perspektif kependidikan. Jurnal tematik merupakan hasil penelitian, refleksi dan kajian kritis yang aktual berkenaan dengan tema-tema pendidikan, seperti kebijakan atau regulasi pendidikan, kurikulum, inovasi pembelajaran (kajian materi, pendekatan, model, metode, media dan evaluasi belajar) dalam ruang lingkup pendidikan dasar. Terbit tiga kali dalam setahun yakni April, Agustus dan Desember. Terbit pertama kali untuk edisi April 2012. Jurnal Tematik adalah jurnal berkala ilmiah berisi tulisan yang diangkat dari hasil penelitian pendidikan dasar pada fokus aspek-aspek yang berkaitan dengan kependidikan. Jurnal tematik merupakan jurnal nasional bermitra bestari yang diterbitkan tiga kali setahun dalam bentuk cetak dan online oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Dasar Pascasarjana, Universitas Negeri Medan, Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors that influence the responsibility values of fifth-grade students through the teaching of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) at SD Negeri 2 Tambakrigadung, Lamongan. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, involving five students and two classroom teachers as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results showed that the students' sense of responsibility was categorized as fairly good, as reflected in behaviors such as completing assignments on time, cooperating in group work, and accepting consequences for their actions. The dominant internal factors included learning motivation, self-discipline, and diligence. Meanwhile, external factors such as teacher role modeling and the application of educational punishment contributed to the development of positive habits. PPKn learning proved effective in instilling character values, particularly responsibility. These findings can serve as a reference for educators in optimizing PPKn instruction as a means of strengthening students' character development.

Abstract

This research aims to develop valid and reliable test instruments aligned with the learning outcomes of the statistics course. This test instrument serves as a learning evaluation tool to measure students' ability to solve statistical problems, both in formative and summative assessments. This research is a development research model using nine stages: 1) developing test specifications, 2) writing test items, 3) reviewing test items, 4) conducting test trials, 5) analyzing test item scores, 6) revising the test, 7) assembling the test, 8) administering the test, and 9) interpreting the test results. This research was conducted on Early Childhood Education students at W Central Java University, with a sample size of 31 people. This study used evaluation, observation, interviews, and tests to determine students' ability to solve statistical problems related to finding class intervals in grouped data. Based on the analysis results using the Jamovi application, the test instrument developed to measure students' abilities in the Statistics course has met the criteria. The quality of the instrument is valid and reliable, with a value greater than (>) 0.3. Based on the results of students' knowledge answers calculated using the learning outcomes percentage formula, the average score is 72.6%, which falls into the high category.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the researcher’s observation during the learning process at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli, where there have been obstacles in the learning process, resulting in relatively low student learning outcomes. The objectives of this study are: (1) to examine the implementation of Augmented Reality technology in the Integrated Social Studies subject for Grade VIII at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli, and (2) to analyze the students’ learning outcomes in the subject through the implementation of Augmented Reality technology. This study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR). It was conducted in class VIII-G with 32 students serving as both the sample and the population. Based on field data collected by the researcher, the findings are as follows: (1) the teacher observation score in the first cycle reached an average of 65.17%, while in the second cycle it increased to 87.5%. (2) Student activity observation in the first cycle reached an average of 50.89% and increased to 88% in the second cycle. (3) The learning evaluation score in the first cycle was 76.57%, and in the second cycle it improved to 90.88%. The mastery percentage in the first cycle was 46.87%, while in the second cycle it reached 93.75%. It can be concluded that the implementation of Augmented Reality technology enhanced both understanding and student learning outcomes. Thus, applying Augmented Reality technology contributes positively to improving the learning outcomes in the Integrated Social Studies subject for Grade VIII students at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of interactive e-booklets in learning and interactive can improve the analytical skills of class VIII students in Integrated Social Studies subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli. This study is a Classroom Action Research that contains a research flow that includes four stages, starting from planning, implementation of actions, observation and reflection. The four stages take place in 2 cycles. The research instruments are teacher and student observation sheets, learning outcome tests and documentation. The subjects of this study were 32 class VIII-I students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli. Based on the results of this study it is known that: (1) The results of observations for teachers in cycle I reached an average of 56.24%, while in cycle II the teacher's ability in implementing the learning process increased to 85.71%. The results of observations of student activities in cycle II reached an average of 49.21% and in cycle II reached an average of 86.06%; (2) In cycle I the average student learning outcomes were 72.40 while in cycle II the average student learning outcomes were 85.31; (3) The percentage of completion achieved in cycle I was 46.87% while the percentage of completion in cycle II was 93.75%, which is proven to increase students' analytical abilities and student activities in the learning process. The increase in students' analytical abilities and activities in the learning process means that it will have an impact on learning outcomes which will also increase.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning interest through the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in Social Studies (IPS) for Grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Botomuzoi in the 2024/2025 academic year. The main issue addressed is the low level of student interest in learning due to the use of monotonous conventional teaching methods and the suboptimal implementation of the CTL model by teachers. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection instruments included teacher and student observation sheets, student learning interest questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed a significant increase in students’ learning interest and academic performance. Teacher observation scores improved from 61.66% in the first cycle to 93.33% in the second cycle, student observations increased from 58.92% to 89.44%, student learning interest rose from 61.09% to 93.79%, and learning mastery improved from 46.88% to 100%. These findings indicate that the CTL model is effective in enhancing students’ interest and academic outcomes. Therefore, CTL is recommended as an alternative instructional strategy to create meaningful and contextual learning experiences in Social Studies.

Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a pervasive developmental disorder characterized by difficulties in social communication and interaction, and it is frequently associated with the persistence of Retained Primitive Reflexes (RPR). Unintegrated RPR can serve as an early marker for ASD, driving the necessity for effective interventions. This study aimed to determine the impact of implementing the Reflex Integration Program (RIP) on children and adolescents with ASD. The methodology employed was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), analyzing eight relevant journals, where most studies utilized a pre-test and post-test experimental design and focused on the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) intervention. The research findings indicate that RIP exerts a significant positive influence on various developmental aspects of children with ASD, encompassing improvements in social interaction, communication, emotional regulation, motor skills, sleep quality, and behavioral flexibility, alongside reductions in hyperactivity and aggression. It is concluded that RIP holds potential as a valuable therapeutic option for enhancing the development of children with ASD, particularly in addressing socio-communicative deficits, and can be effectively combined with other interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the role of extracurricular activities PASKIBRA contributes to enhancing the discipline of teenagers at State Senior High School 18 Medan and to understand the role of guidance counselors in supporting extracurricular activities. The problem formulation in this research is how the role of extracurricular activities PASKIBRA improves the discipline of students at the school and how the role of guidance counselors assists in extracurricular activities. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects in this study were selected using purposive sampling technique. The selected subjects are individuals involved in extracurricular activities at State Senior High School 18 Medan who can provide information, such as the Principal, the Vice Principal of Student Affairs, the PASKIBRA coaches and alumni, guidance counselors, class supervisors, and PASKIBRA members. The findings of the research indicate that the extracurricular activity of PASKIBRA plays a relevant role in improving the discipline of adolescents. Adolescents involved in the PASKIBRA extracurricular activity exhibit a higher level of discipline compared to other extracurricular activities or to those who do not participate in any extracurriculars at all. The forms of discipline observed among PASKIBRA members include time discipline, study discipline, etiquette discipline, and dress discipline. Support from various parties is crucial for the smooth running and success of this activity. The steps taken to enhance discipline vary, ranging from habituation, exemplification, to supervision. The guidance and counseling teacher also plays an important role in improving adolescent discipline. The guidance counselor actively provides assistance, direction, and motivation to encourage the youth.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' conceptual understanding. This type of classroom action research implements interactive digital media based on the Kahoot application. The subjects of the study were all fourth-grade students at SDN Ngasemlemahbang, totaling 16 students. Each cycle consisted of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data analysis techniques used were observation result analysis and conceptual understanding analysis. The results of the study can be concluded as follows: (1) Teacher activity observation in Cycle I obtained an average score of 62.5%, and in Cycle II, it increased to 88.67%, showing an improvement of 26.17%. (2) Student activity observation in Cycle I obtained an average score of 58.33%, and in Cycle II, it increased to 89.16%, indicating an improvement of 30.83%. (3) Students’ conceptual understanding in Cycle I reached 56.25%, and in Cycle II, it increased to 81.25%, showing an improvement of 25%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Kahoot application in learning activities can improve students’ conceptual understanding in the topic of two-dimensional shapes in the fourth grade at SDN Ngasemlemahbang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of digital learning media based on Smart Apps Creator in improving the understanding of IPAS concepts among fifth-grade elementary school students. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model and a control group pretest-posttest design with fifth-grade students at Bedahan Public Elementary School as the subjects. Data collection techniques include validation, questionnaires, and concept understanding tests. There are two analysis techniques: prerequisite analysis testing and hypothesis testing. The validation results showed that the media fell into the highly valid category with scores from media experts of 3.88; design experts of 3.93; content experts of 3.79; and learning tools of 3.83. The media was also deemed highly practical based on student responses from small groups (3.35) and large groups (3.52), as well as student activities with scores of 3.45 and 3.75. The effectiveness of the media was proven through a paired t-test with a significance level of 0.026 < 0.05 and an N-Gain Score in the “moderate” category. Thus, the digital learning media based on Smart Apps Creator has been proven to be valid, practical, and effective in enhancing elementary school students' understanding of IPAS concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a Project-Based E-module in enhancing the creative character of fourth-grade students in the P5 subject at elementary school. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), employing the ADDIE development model, which consists of five main stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data analysis techniques involved prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing. The results of the study show that: (1) the Project-Based E-Module is highly valid for use, based on the validation results from the subject matter expert with a score of 3.66 and the design expert with a score of 3.75, (2) the Project-Based E-Module is highly practical to use, as indicated by the student questionnaire results during the small group and large group trials, which obtained scores of 3.55 and 3.57 respectively. Student activity results in the small and large group trials received scores of 3.35 and 3.64, (3) the Project-Based E-Module is effective in improving the creative character of fourth-grade students, as evidenced by the T-test result of 0.000 and the N-Gain score of 64.87%, indicating a moderate level of achievement in the experimental class, and 24.19%, indicating a low level of achievement in the control class.
