The subjects of the readability test were 5 grade II teachers, and 5 grade II students at SDN Bendo 1 Blitar City. The data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data were then analyzed by applying descriptive quantitative and qualitative method. The results revealed that the book was classified into feasible category. The book obtanined a percentage of 84.55% from the experts of materials and Bahasa Indonesian, and 83.75% from the experts of book design. Then, the result of readability test conducted to students obtained the percentage of 100% (very feasible).  Then, the result of interviews conducted to students resulted in a positive response towards the textbook. Furthermore, the result of readability test conducted to teachers obtained the percentage of 100% (very feasible). Based on the interviews with the teachers, it was revealed that the book facilitated teachers in the writing process using correct Indonesian spelling.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model on the Social Science Problem Solving Ability of Elementary School Students. The method used in this research is the method of Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group-Pretest-Posttest Design research design. This study's findings indicate that the average post-test is higher than the pretest average of students' social studies problem-solving abilities with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The average pretest value is 58.10, while the post-test average value is 75.40. Calculation of the hypothesis using the t-test, namely the paired sample T-test, and obtained at a significant level of 0.05 indicates that the probability value (significance) is 0.000. Because the significance of 0.000 <α = 0.05, Ho is rejected. This proves that there is an effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on solving elementary school students' social studies problems.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Word Square learning model on the social science learning outcomes of the fourth grade students at SDN Gugus II Kecamatan Lingsar in the academic year 2020/2021. The type of this study was experimental research with a nonequivalent control group design with a type of quasi experiment. The population in the study was students at grade IV SD Gugus II, Kecamatan Lingsar, totaling 108 students, while the samples were grade IV SD Gugus II Kecamatan Lingsar District, totaling 85 students. Data in this study were collected through documentation and questionnaires, while the instruments were social studies learning outcomes documents and Word Square model questionnaires. Then, the data were analyzed by the normality test, linearity test, and simple regression test in order to determine the effect of Word Square model on learning outcomes. The results of normality and linearity test obtained that the data were normally distributed and had a linear relationship. After going through the prerequisite test, a simple regression test was carried out obtaining the sig value. of 0.000 <0.05 or using a comparison of the value of tcount (3.974) > ttable (1.988). This means that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, Word Square learning model significantly influenced the social science learning outcomes of the fourth grade students of SDN Gugus II, Kecamatan Lingsar in the academic year 2020/2021."
