Abstract

The traditional blackboard is really very much like a computer screen. It can be used to explain ideas graphically, with text and numbers, and can be used by the students like an interactive interface in a computer. The use of films, videotapes, audiotapes, records, and even performance can enhance the learning process in the classroom. The technique of using media requires creativity and planning. What media are available? How many of them should be used? Do media have psychological effect to students? What is the proper role for teaching with media? Media in the classroom are appropriate for triggering ideas, making difficult subjects more under-standable, and for holding attention on important ideas. They should lead students to remember ideas by becoming more involved with them.

Abstract

Abstrak: Anak didik merupakan individu yang mengalami pertumbuhan dan perkemba-ngan yang memerlukan bimbingan orang dewasa. Nativisme berpendapat bahwa perkembangan manusia ditentukan oleh potensi sejak lahir dan lingkungan tak dapat merubahnya. Sedangkan aliran Empirisme menjelaskan bahwa manusia sangat dipengaruhi dan ditentukan oleh lingkungan alam sekitarnya. Aliran Konvergensi berpendapat bahwa pembawaan dan lingkungan kedua-duanya sangat menentukan perkembangan manusia. Dalam padangan al-Qur’an fitrah manusia diberikan Allah sebagai bawaan dari lahir tetap memerlukan proses interaksi dari lingkungan sekitar secara dinamis.Abstract: The students are individuals who experience growth and development and re-quire adult guidance. Nativism argues that human development is determined by the potential from birth and cannot be changed by environment; However, Em-piricism explained that the human was heavily influenced and determined by their environment. Different from Nativism and Empiricism, Convergence argues that nature and nurture (environment) are both crucial for human development. In the Qur'an perspective, human is born with their nature (fitrah) as a potential given by Allah, but still requires the interaction with their environment dynamically.

Abstract

Effective teaching method and strategy is of great importance as this may influence the model and future of our educational system. Effective method and strategy of teaching has a number of strengths, particularly, in enhancing students' enthusiasm to learn, improving quality and student self confidence, and, in the end, leading to maximum outcome of learning. This teaching method and strategy may also encourage lecturers to be more competent and be well prepared before teaching process in the classroom.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to determine the suitability of the principals’ performance in carrying out managerial tasks with the established standards, including performance in: (1) leading the school in the context of the utilization of school resources optimally, (2) managing changes and development of the school towards an effective learning organization, (3) creating a culture and school climate which are conducive and innovative, and (4) utilizing the advancement of ICT in learning and school management. The approach and evaluation model chosen in this study was a goal-based evaluation model which was combined with evaluation model that were generally developed in several government institutions. The research method was qualitative. The data were collected by using observation, interview, and documents. The results of the research showed that: (1) the performance of the principals in leading the school were in good category, (2) the performance of the principals in managing change and school development were in good category, (3) the performance of the principal in creating a culture and school climate were in good category, and (4) the performance of the principal in the use of ICT in teaching and school management were in enough category. The conclusion of the research was, of the four aspects of the performance of principals evaluated, three of them showed the achievement of performance was good category, and one aspect was in enough category. However, in each aspect in the evaluation there were still some performance criteria that have not been achieved well, or there were still in the enough category.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesesuaian antara prinsip-prinsip kinerja yang digunakan dalam menunaikan tugas managerial dengan standar kinerja yang telah ditetapkan, meliputi: (1) upaya memajukan sekolah dalam konteks pemanfaatan sumber-sumber sekolah secara optimal; (2) mengelola perubahan-perubahan dan pengembangan sekolah menuju organisasi belajar yang efektif; (3) menciptakan budaya dan suasana sekolah yang kondusif dan inovatif; (4) penggunaan ICT dalam pembelajaran dan manajemen sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan evaluasi sebagai dengan model goal based yang secara umum dikembangkan sebagai model mengevaluasi lembaga-lembaga pemerintahan. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan: (1) kinerja kepemimpinan di sekolah sudah dalam kategori baik, (2) prinsip-prinsip kinerja dalam mengelola perubahan dan pengembangan sekolah dalam kategori baik, (3) prinsip-prinsip kinerja dalam menciptakan budaya dan suasana sekolah dalam kategori baik, (4) prinsip-prinsip kinerja dalam menggunakan ICT pembelajaran serta pengelolaan sekolah dalam kategori baik. Kesimpulannya adalah, dari empat aspek prinsip kinerja yang dievaluasi, tiga diantaranya dalam kategori baik dan satu diantaranya kategori cukup.

Abstract

Learning model will go on developing in line with the innovation of technology of education. The traditional learning model will be left behind in order to keep up with students demand. The Blended Learning model is one of the models that may answer the de-mand of education technology. Terminologically, Blended Learning is relatively new to a higher education, even in a company. Despite this, Blended Learning is a combination of a number of models or teaching methods. This paper will deeply discuss the definition, strengths and weaknesses, the development and some obstacles of this model.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students' difficulties in learning mathematics class V SD/MI at Makassar by developing diagnostic tests of mathematics. The study was conducted by performing several steps: determining material that is less dominated by students, devising test diagnostic, identification the alleged difficulties experienced by students. The results showed that mathematics material in class V SD / MI most students experiencing difficulties are the powers and fractional operations. It is caused by a weak ability of arithmetic operations. The inability of students to convert units of time and the distance was other difficulties faced by students. This study provides a product profile that describes the ability of students in solving problem. This student profile information is expected teachers can improve the quality of teaching and the learning process in the classroom so that students do not experience difficulties in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan modul IPA terintegrasi dengan ayat Alquran dan hadis (2) mengetahui kualitas modul IPA terintegrasi dengan ayat Alquran dan hadis yang telah dikembangkan (3) mengetahui respons peserta didik dan keterlaksanaan modul IPA terintegrasi dengan ayat Alquran dan hadis yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian research and development (R&D). Prosedur penelitian pengembangan ini berdasarkan model 4-D. Penelitian ini menghasilkan modul IPA terintegrasi dengan ayat Al Qur’an dan hadis dikembangkan dengan mengacu pada model informatif. Kualitas modul IPA berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli grafika, ahli integrasi-interkoneksi, dan guru IPA memperoleh klasifikasi Sangat Baik (SB) dengan rerata skor berturut-turut 3,45; 3,35; 3,54; dan 3,40. Respons peserta didik terhadap modul pada uji terbatas dan uji luas memperoleh klasifikasi Setuju (S) dengan rerata skor berturut-turut 0,88 dan 0,87.Abstract:This study aims to (1) produce IPA module integrated with Qur'anic verses and hadiths (2) to know the quality of IPA module integrated with Qur'anic verses and hadiths that has been developed (3) to know the response of learners and the implementation of IPA module integrated with the Qur'anic verses and hadith that has been developed. This research is a research and development (R&D) research. The procedure of the research was based on 4-D model. This study developed an IPA module integrated with Qur'anic verses and hadith using the informative model. The quality of IPA module based on the assessment of material experts, graphicians, integration-interconnection experts, and IPA teachers obtained excellent classification with a consecutive mean score of 3.45; 3.35; 3.54; and 3.40. The learner's response to the module on the limited test and the broad test obtained the agreed classification with a mean score of 0.88 and 0.87.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper discusses about difficulties encountered by Bugis learner in producing English phonemes. The learners who learn second language use their mother tongue to analyze the second language. They analyze the second language to find the differences and similarities both languages. The similarities can create ease to transfer the language, on the contrary the differences can creates difficulties. Based on the description above it informs that Bugis learners have difficulties in producing the following phonemes: The Labial consonant /f/ and /v/, The interdental consonant /θ/ and /d/, The alveolar consonant /z/, The consonant palatals /ŝ/ and /ž/, The vowel /æ/, The diphtong / iə, uə, əu, eə/, English also permits much longer sequences of consonant initially, medially, and finally in utterances. Both English and Buginese have consonant which are conveniently symbolized /t,d,s,z/. In English, however, these represent alveolar, whereas in Buginese they represent dentals. All of these differences constitute a major source of difficulty for the Bugis speakersin leaning English.Abstrak: Tulisan ini membahas tentang kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh pebelajar yang bahasa ibunya adalah bahasa Bugis dalam mengucapkan fonem. Pebelajar yang belajar bahasa kedua menggunakan bahasa ibu mereka untuk menganalisa bahasa kedua. Mereka menganalisa bahasa kedua untuk menemukan perbedaan dan persamaan diantara kedua bahasa. Persamaan akan memudahkan untuk mentansfer bahasa kedua, dan sebaliknya perbedaan dapat menyulitkan. Pebelajar yang bahasa ibunya adalah bahasa Bugis mempunyai kesulitan dalam menybutkan fnem-fonem berikut: konsonan bilabial/f/ dan /v/. konsonanm interdental /θ/ and /d/, konsonan alveolar/ z// the konsonan palatal /ŝ/ and /ž/, vokal /æ/, diftong / iə, uə, əu, eə/. Bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Bugis mempunyai konsonan /t,d,s,z/. Namun demikian dalam bahasa Inggris dikategorikan sebagai alveolar sementara dalam bahasa Bugis dikategorikan sebagai dental. Perbedaan-perbedaan tersebut menyebabkan kesulitan bagi pebelajar bahasa inggris untuk menghasilkan bunyi-bunyi dalam bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This study aims at comparing religious application level between students learning at Islamic boarding school, Islamic senior high school, and state senior high school. This study, also, analyzes religious application level in terms of gender, and the domi-nant religious aspect of application. The religious scale was employed to collect data to 225 year-two senior high school students, 110 females and 115 males. The data were analyzed by using a two-way variant. The result indicates that there is a significant difference (p=0,008) in terms of religious application level, where the students of Islamic boarding school are better than those of Islamic senior high school, while the students of Islamic senior high school are better than those of the state senior high school. This study also reveals that female students are better than their male counterparts in terms of religious application (p=0,000). Finally, the study suggests that the religious aspect which students implement dominantly is worship.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap gambaran motivasi belajar peserta didik dan mendeskripsikan upaya guru PAI dalam memotivasi peserta didik. Pe­nelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Be­la­wa Kabupaten Wajo, dengan pendekatan fenomenologis, pedagogis, dan psi­ko­lo­gis. Data bersumber dari Kepala Sekolah, Wakil Kepala Sekolah Bidang Kesiswa­an, guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dan beberapa peserta didik. Hasil penelitian me­nunjukkan bahwa gambaran motivasi belajar peserta didik adalah terdapat ada peserta didik yang memiliki kebutuhan, dorongan dan tujuan untuk tetap an­tusias dan bersemangat dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran, namun ada ju­ga peserta didik kurang berminat dan terdorong. Upaya yang dilakukan oleh gu­ru PAI menggunakan pendekatan teori motivasi ARCS; Attention; dengan cara me­ngadakan ulangan, menumbuhkan minat, menggunakan metode bervariasi, dan media pembelajaran. Relevance; Guru menunjukkan relevansi materi yang di­pe­lajari dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Confidence; Guru meningkatkan keeper­ca­yaan diri peserta didik Satisfaction; guru menciptakan kepuasan kepada peserta di­dik dengan pujian verbal maupun non verbal, serta pemberian reward.Abstrct: There are two objectives of this study is to reveal the picture of learners' learning motivation and describes the efforts of teachers PAI in motivating learners. This study is a descriptive qualitative implemented in SMA 1 Belawa Wajo, with a phe­nomenological approach, pedagogical, and psychological. Data sourced from the Principal, Vice Principal of Student Affairs, Islamic Education teachers and some students. The results showed a picture of learners' learning motivation basical­ly there are learners who have a need, drive and purpose to remain enthu­siastic and excited in participating in the learning process, but there are also less in­terested learners and encouraged. Efforts are being made using the PAI teacher ARCS motivation theory approach; Attention; by conducting replications, foster in­terest in learning, using various teaching methods, and instructional media. Re­levance; Teachers demonstrate the relevance of the material being studied to re­veal the needs of learners. Confidence; Teacher seeks to improve the confidence of students. Satisfaction; teachers create satisfaction to students with verbal and non-verbal praise, as well as the reward system.
