Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to find out the effectiveness of Jigsaw Techniques on the reading comprehension ability of the second year students of SMAN 2 Pekanbaru, the technique that being used was Jigsaw IV. The researcher uses pre-experimental research design of one-group-pre-test-post-test. The researcher uses Cluster Random Sampling technique to determine the sample of the research. The population of this study is the second year students consisted of 5 science classes with total 172 students, from the population it was chosen that the sample is XI Science 1 class with 34 students. The research instrument is a reading test in the form of analytical exposition text using multiple-choice type of test and each question consists in four options (A, B, C, and D). The test consists of 5 analytical exposition passages based on the reading comprehension components with the total of 25 questions for both of pre-test and post-test. Before the test is administrated to the research sample, the researcher conducted a try-out of the test to non-experimental group to obtain the reliability and validity of the test using Heaton’s index of difficulty/Facility Value (FV) formula. The researcher uses application program such as Microsoft Excel and IBM-SPSS Statistics Version 23 to analyze the data. Based on the results, the T-Observation or T-Test is higher than T-Table (to > tt , to = 12.754, tt = 2.03452 (2.035)). The probability is in sig. 2 tailed with  = 5% (0.05) that it is displayed in T-Test table of sig.2 tailed = 0.000 with df = n-1 = 33. Then, t-observation result also shows that the student’s mean score of post-test (67.0588) is higher than the pre-test (53.0588). Furthermore, the Paired Sample Correlation shows 0.794 which is interpreted as strong. It can be concludes that there are good effects of Jigsaw IV technique and solved the second year students’ problem on reading comprehension especially towards students’ reading comprehension of SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. It is suggested that Jigsaw IV technique can be applied not only for junior high school level, undergraduate students level, EFL students level, and students in science class but also can be applied for second year of senior high school level.Keywords: Effect, Jigsaw IV Technique, Reading Comprehension, Ability, Senior High School, Second Year Students.

Abstract

Abstract: This study entitled "The Use of Social Media and Student Motivation in SMK LABOR BINAAN FKIP UNRI PEKANBARU". Data from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) in its website (kominfo.com) year (2015) revealed internet users in Indonesia currently reach 63 million people. Of these, 95% use the internet to access social networks. The purpose of research: 1) To know the use of social media among students at SMK LABOR BINAAN FKIP UNRI PEKANBARU. 2) to know the motivation of student learning using social media at SMK LABOR BINAAN FKIP UNRI PEKANBARU. Research sample 140 people.Quantitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques are questionnaires. Technique of data analysis percentage. The results of research using social media 100% of students access social media every day. Time spent> 3hrs / day, 3hrs / hour, 2hours / day, <1hr / day. Type of social media that is widely used Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Line, Youtube, Twitter, BBM. the condition of accessing social media when gathering with friends, when time is empty, before sleep, waking, and when eating. In general, social media students use to find entertainment. The use of social media in general is in the low category. Motivation to learn the highest awards in learning. Student learning motivation using social media in general is in the medium category. Recommendations: 1) to teachers and parents of students to give more attention to students who use social media so that students' learning motivation is not low. 2) For other researchers interested in researching this subject it is advisable to undertake more detailed research or to add appropriate variables related to counseling guidance.Key Words: Social media, Motivation learning

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the use of clock puzzles on the ability to recognize the concept of numbers in children aged 5-6 years in the Early Childhood School of Hope District Bungaraya Siak district. The research used experimental method with one group pre-test post-test design. The sample used in this study were 15 students. The data collection technique used is observation. Technique of data analysis using t-test test by using program of SPSS 17. The research hypothesis is that there is influence of the use of puzzle clock to the ability to recognize the concept of number in children aged 5-6 years in the Early Childhood Education of Hope of the District of Bungaraya district Siak. Based on data analysis known thitung = 23,082> ttabel = 1,746 with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000. Because Sig <0,05 it can be concluded that there are differences of interpersonal intelligence before and after given treatment with the clock puzzle. It can be interpreted that there is influence of giving treatment by using puzzle hours to the ability to recognize the concept of numbers in children aged 5-6 years in Paud Terpadu Harapan Negeri Bungaraya subdistrict Siak regency which his significant at 67.52%. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the level of ability to solve physics problems of 10 th Grade Student in SMA Neger Plus Riau Province. This study is a survey research. The Subject of Research is one class, twenty five student of 10th Grade SMA Negeri Plus Riau in 2017/2018 School Year. Collection of research data obtained by students’ result test to solve physics problem on linear motion kinematics material. This test uses essay questions, those question is given after learned the linear kinematics material. Analysis of this research data is descriptive analysis. Data analysis result show that the average percentage of students' physics problem solving abilities each year is 62.75% for useful description stage (medium category), 21% for physics approach stage (very low category), 57,5% for specific application of physics stage (low category), 56.75% for mathematical procedure stage (low category) and 56.75% for logical progression stage (low category).Key words : Analysis of learning, problem-solving skills, rectilinear motion kinematics material

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to find and measure the readability level of a textbook Bright: an English Course for Junior High School Students Grade IX. There is no sample and population in this research because almost of reading texts in the textbook are used as the research subject. The way to collect data in this study was by determine an English textbook of Junior High School, identify the text of reading texts on the textbook, read the text, and count the number of sentences, words and syllables of each text. The data were analyzed using Flesch Readability Formula. After analyzing the data of reading texts on the textbook by using Flesch Reading Ease, the result showed that from 13 reading texts, they are categorized into five levels; Easy (1 text), Fairly Easy (4 texts), Standard (4 texts), Fairly Difficult (3 texts), and Difficult (1 text). In average, the texts are in Standard Level. It means that according to the theory of Flesch Reading Formula (reading is formula) by Rudolf Flesch, the texts are in the appropriate level for grade IX students.Keywords: Readability, Textbook

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the coming out of the rules about persons with disabilities (PwDs) are allowed to go to public schools, namely Law No. 8 article 10 of 2016. However, from this rule teachers who usually teach ordinary students and now teach students with disabilities. Then, generate a variety of perceptions.FA So the author wants to know how the teacher's perception of the Act. The formulation of the problem in this study is how teachers' perceptions, what are the factors of teacher's difficulties, and whether the teacher's efforts in dealing with PwDs. The population in this study was the total teachers of State Senior High School Pekanbaru which amounted to 885 people and the sample in this study was 89 teachers. The instruments of data collection were observation, questionnaire, interview and documentation. Data analysis with descriptive quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results showed that teachers' perceptions of Law No. 8 of article 10 of the year 2016 is good 72.8% is in the range 67.00% -100%. Furthermore, teachers' difficulties in dealing with PwDs are that teachers are not skilled in dealing with persons with disabilities (teacher professionalism), contact experience with students with special needs, student condition, and lack of facilities. Furthermore, the teacher's efforts in dealing with PwDs during the teaching-learning process is to plan teaching and learning activities, conduct teaching and learning activities, and foster interpersonal relationships. Abstract: The Teratak Air Hitam forest is one of the many forest prohibitions in Kuantan Singingi district, the background of this prohibited forest is to keep the water source irrigating rice fields and fields. So the Indigenous Peoples Teratak Air Hitam represented by Ninik Mamak and Adat Stakeholders agreed to leave the existing forest to be guarded and utilized as necessary. The guarding and utilization of this prohibited forest is governed by Indigenous Peoples Teratak Air Hitam. The purpose of this study is 1. To know the history of the origin of Indigenous Peoples Teratak Air Hitam, 2. To know the Local Wisdom of Indigenous People Seberang Teratak Air Hitam which includes Maintenance (control, supervision, law enforcement, myth) in maintaining the sustainability Rimbo Larangan, 3 To find out the Rimbo Utilization Prohibition of Air Hitam Teratak Rules. 4. To know the active role of the Kuantan Singingi Local Government through the relevant agencies in the effort to preserve the Rimbo Banangan. This research uses qualitative descriptive research method. The result of this research is the origin of Indigenous Peoples of Teratak Air Hitam from indigenous Sentajo Comfort who opened the fields on the orders of Datuk Rajo Nan Putih II. Indigenous Peoples Seberang Teratak Air Hitam also made the village. Rice fields and fields are production fields in building the wheels of the economy. Rimbo ban is the result of consensus Ninik Mamak and Pemangku Adat in maintaining the water source for the needs of irrigation fields and fields. The concept of local wisdom to guard the preservation and preservation of the rimbo ban has existed since Seberang Teratak stood and experienced developments in the element of legal content, adapted to the development of the times. The government's effort to participate in preserving the Air Hitam Teratak rimbo is through the Kuantan Singingi Forestry Office and the Kuantan Singingi Environmental Agency. Abstract

Abstrack: The study aim todetermine the effect of parenting stress with the behavior of violence in children in the village tangkerang west marpoyan damai distrct of pekanbaru city.The population of this research is in children in the village tangkerang west marpoyan damai distrct of pekanbaru city that consists of 120 parent, the samples of this research are 55 parent. Method of this research is quantitative correlation to know the correation between independent variable and dependent variable. The technique of collecting data used quistioner in Likert scale form. The technique of analyzing data used scale test and statistic analitical by using SPSS program for Windows Ver.22. Based on the hypothesis there is any significant negative correlation between parent’ parenting stress and violence behavior in children in the village tangkerang west marpoyan damai distrct of pekanbaru city. It could be seen from the result of correlation cooficient that 0,412 and significant level is 0,02 < 0,05. The correlation between students’ adversity quotient and academic procrastination is in the medium level which is the KP = r² x 100% = 17%, it means that a affect the violent behavior as much as 17%.Key Words: Parenting stress, violence behavior

Abstract

Abstract: Guided inquiry model is a learning model that involves students actively searching and finding concepts in learning activities with teacher direction. Active students in searching and finding concepts will make students critical thinking skills increase. The purpose of this study is to determine student’s critical thinking skills through the implementation of guided inquiry learning model on biology learning in class X MIA of state senior high school 9 Pekanbaru. The type of research conducted is quasi experimental research using pretest-posttest design. The study population all the students of class X, with a sample of class X MIA4 as an experimental class and class X MIA6 as a control class. In the learning process, the experimental class is the class given treatment by using guided inquiry learning model whiles the control class using conventional method. Data analysis techniques used are uji t and N-Gain. Based on hypothesis test result obtained tcount > ttable for animalia subject 1,84 > 1,72 and ecology 3,97>1,72 hypothesis accepted. Level of student’s understanding of animalia subject in the experimental class, value N-Gain 0,71 (high) and control class 0,61 (medium). Then the ecological subject in the experimental class of N-Gain value 0,73 (high) and the control class of N-gain value is 0,58 (medium). Based on the results of research shows that there are different of student’s critical thinking skills with and without using guided inquiry learning model in class X MIA state senior high school 9 Pekanbaru.Keywords: guided inquiry, critical thinking

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to find out whether there is a significant effect of fishbowl technique on the speaking ability of the first year students of SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. This is a pre-experimental research conducted by using a pre-test – treatment – post-test design. The instrument administered in this research was oral speaking tests (pre-test and post-test). The population of this research was 420 of the first year students of SMAN 12 Pekanbaru and the sample of this research is the X4 of social science class of SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. The total number of students is 36 students. The collected data were analyzed by operating statistical analysis in form of SPSS 23.0 in order to compare the results of students’ speaking ability in the pre-test and post-test. The results of data analysis showed that the mean score of pre-test was 55.26, and the mean score of post-test was 69.74. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test because the t-test observed was higher than t-table. In other words, the alternative hypothesis of this research was accepted. It means that teaching speaking by fishbowl technique was effective to improve students’ speaking ability.Key Words : Speaking Ability, Fishbowl technique
