Abstract

Abstract: This study is aimed at investigating the level of the students’ ability at English Study Program of FKIP of University of Riau in identifying round and flat characters in reading short drama scripts and it what factors contributing to the ability of the students. The research design is a descriptive quantitative and qualitative research (mixed-method). There were 25 students chosen as the samples of this research. The instruments of the research were 30 multiple choice questions assesed by using Heaton’s formula that were analyzed by using Harris’ measurement. Then, interview questions were analyzed by using Gay (2000) ways. The quantitative data show that there were no students who were in excellent ability level, 5 students (25%) who were in good ability level. Then, there were 15 students (50%) who were in mediocre level and 5 students (25%) who were in very poor level. The qualitative data show that there are some factors which contributed to the students’ ability in identifying round and flat characters. They are related to students’ reading strategy (the beginning and the ending of the story), vocabulary mastery, guessing strategy and the length of the storyKey words: student, ability, round, flat, characters

Abstract

Abstract : The issues raised in this research is that the ability of the service under the womwn’s volleyball team MAN 1 Pekanbaru is still not good,this can be seen when the women’s team to service under a lot of balls that are still not over the net,and also the direction the ball is not maximized.this is caused by a lack of technical training services under the women’s volleyball team MAN 1 Pekanbaru, so that when the women’s team to services, there are many directions ball does nt enter into the field or off the field.the lack of a player’s ability to perform services under volleyball possibility is caused by lack of trained technical service under women’s volleyball team MAN 1 Pekanbaru. Bisides the lack of a player’s ability to perfom under proper servicing is caused by a lack of proper training program to train service capabilities under womwn’s volleyball team.This form of exercise is a study with experimental treatment. The population in this study is the women’s volleyball team MAN 1 Pekanbaru, the sample in this study is a population which total 12 people. Data collection techniques derived from the pre-tes and post-test. The instruments used in this research are under the service, which aims to measure the ability of a service under.the variables that exist in this study is lower servicing exercise denoted by X as the independent variable, whereas with lower servicing capabilities represented by Y as the dependent variable. After the data is processed with statistical, normality test with liliefors test at significant level of 0.05a. the hypothesis is the effect of exercise services are under the lower servicing capabilities. Based on the result of t test analysis , T result is 5,728 and T table is 1,796, it means T result > T table . It can be concluded that Ha is accepted, it concludes that there is a significant influence on the service under the service under the women’s volleyball team MAN 1 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Lower Servicing Exercise

Abstract

Abstract: this study examines the ability of writing text Exposition grade X SMA Negeri 1 Tambusai Rokan Hulu. This research aims to know and describe the ability to write text Exposition grade X SMA Negeri 1 Tambusai Rokan Hulu. This research is descriptive-quantitative research. This research data is data the results of executed tests writing skills text Exposition grade X SMA Negeri 1 Tambusai Rokan Hulu. Instruments in the research is written test-shaped shaped essay has three provisions reserved about the ability of writing text Exposition grade X SMA Negeri 1 Tambusai Rokan Hulu. Data collection is carried out by an engineering test. The population in this study as many as 80 students with samples of as much as 67 students. The data were analyzed by descriptive method quantitative Test Chi Square through a sample. The results of this research as seen from the test results the ability write text Exposition grade 80,55Key Words: Ability, writing, text Exposition.

Abstract

Abstarck : This research was aimed to increase learning proces and student achievement of science lesson V.C grade years of 2014 / 2015. Subject of this research is student V.C grade of state elementary school 62 Pekanbaru which is total 35 students, consisted of 12 girls and 16 boys. This was a classroom research which has two cycles.the data shown either learning proces icreased. The basic score of daily examination as 9,75 which 16 students passed and 14 students failed. The ending of daily examination was as 53,33%. The second daily examination alsos increased from basic score as 31,30% which 27 students passed and 3 students failed. The ending of second daily examination was 90%. Based on the expalanation above it can be concluded that the imlpementation learning cooperatif type numbered heads together (NHT) increased students’ achievement in science lesson of students V.C grade of state elementary school 62 Pekanbaru.Keywords : Cooperatf Numbered Heads Together (NHT), Student Achievement the result Of Science Studies.

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to determine the impact of oil palm plantation developments on the hope of children's education in the village Bangkinang District Jaya. The population in this study of 204 farmers and in this research the sampling used is Purposive Sampling technique with a total of 65 people. To determine the number of samples using criteria is to have school-age children. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires distributed to respondents. Analysis of data using descriptive and crosstab analysis. The results of the research in Laboy village found the hope of child education in the high category. The development of oil palm plantations positively impacts the children's education in the village of Bangkinang District Jaya. While the results of research on land area less than 2 hectares have a high expectation for the education of children.Key Words: Development of Oil Palm Plantations, Children Education Expectations.

Abstract

Abstract : This reseacrh startt from fact that the low of problem solving ability giving effect to mathematics learning outcomes. One cause is teacher did not give chance to accustom solving mathematic problem yet because some reason. So that, reserchers try to apply problem solving strategy that developed by G. Polya for increas problem solving ability. Kind of this research is The Static Group Comparison Study. Instrument for this researche is learning tools and the collect data instrument is probelm solving ability test. This research collected by test and analyze by statistic inferential, Mann-Withney. Outcomes from this research is applying of problem solving strategy give positive influence to problem solving ability in mathematics learning for VII grade student in SMP Negeri 1 Kandis Education Year 2015/2016.Keywords : Mathematics problem solving ability, Problem solving strategy, Pre-experiment

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to develop are equipment of dynamics fluid experiment as physics teaching and learning media, resulting in a viable and valid device used as a media of instruction. The subject of this research was an experiment equipment consist of experiment tool and guided book. Data was collected by using assessment sheets of validation that has been given to validators, in which 3 validators were lecturers as expert and 2 validators were physics teachers. The data was analyzed descriptively to find index of validity of experiment equipment. We found that experiment equipment validation was 3,46 with the very high category and experiment guided book with validation was 3,6 with the very high category. Based on the data analysis we have been concluded that an experiment equipment of dynamics fuid as the media in learning physics at SMA can be said valid with the very high category and feasible to be done trial at school.Keyword: Validation, Experiment equitment, Dynamics Fluid.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve social science outcomes with Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) for student of V SDN 161 Pekanbaru. The result of research showed that social science through Student Teams Achievement Division can improve social science outcomes.This study is classroom action research (CAR). This can be seen from : (1) teacher activity increases from percentages of teacher activity in the first cycle of 62,5 %( enough category), in the second cycles of 91,66% (very good category); (2) student learning activities of increase in each cycle, this can be seen from the percentage of student learning activities in the first cycle of 62,5% (enough category), and increased in the second cycle of 87,5% (very good category); (3) student learning outcomes increase from avarage basic value 57,33 with completness 33,33% (unfinished), and then increase in the first cycle equal to 29,94% with a value 74,50, and in the second cycle increased by 47,39%with value 84,5. And then, the conclusion is the application of cooperative learning model of student teams achievement division (STAD) can improve learning outcomes on social science of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 161 Pekanbaru.Keywords : Student teams Achievement Division (STAD), learning outcomes, Classroom Action Research (CAR

Abstract

Abstract : Issues raised in this research is to improve student learning outcomes math class III SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru. The low learning outcomes of students because teachers still use the lecture method so that the lack of attention of students during the lessons and student think math is a difficult subject and tedious because it deals with formulas so that students feel bored. Quantum model of teaching can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes Class III SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru. Subjects in this study were students of class III SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru academic year 2014/2015 the number of students 38 people consisting of 26 boys and 12 girls. This research was conducted in two cycles, the first cycle was conducted in two sessions and the second cycle was also conducted two meetings and one repeat cycle end. Data collection instruments in this study was the observation sheet student, teacher observation sheet, outcomes assessment rubric and assessment process. The study is in the form of classroom action research (PTK), which aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes Class III SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru in the subject matter of measurement. These results indicate that the application of the model of Quantum Teaching can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes Class III SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru. At the beginning of the data mean the base score is 68.94, the average in the first cycle increased 8,95 poin be 77.89, and the mean on the second cycle increased again 16.05 points to 93.94. On the basis of students' scores classical completeness is 44.74% of students in the first cycle classical completeness students increased 15.65 points to 60.39%. In the second cycle increased 26.45 points to 86.84%. From the results of this study concluded that the application of Quantum Teaching models can improve student learning outcomes Class III SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Model Quantum Teaching, Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: The problem in this research is that the lower passing skill of male volleyball team SMAN 1 Pekanbaru is considered to be poor, it could be seen when the team was attempting to catch the lower passing ball by the teammate, and also the ball movement was not correct. This is an experimental research, population used for this research is male volleyball team of SMAN 1 Pekanbaru, and a total of 12 players was contributed as samples. The data needed was collected from pre-test and post-test. The instrument of this research is a lower pass to the wall to measure their skill on it. The variables of this research are paired and individual lower passing as independent variable (X) and lower passing skill as dependent variable (Y). data collected was processed statistically to examine the normality by using liliefors test at 0,05α significance level. Hypothesis proposed was there is an impact on doing paired and individual lower passing exercise to lower passing skill. Referred to t-test analysis, it is concluded: 1) Tcount 9,42 > Ttable 2,015, 2) Tcount 12,15 > Ttable 2,015, 3) Tcount 4,28 > Ttable 1,812. In conclusion, Ho is rejected and HI is accepted, it has shown a significant impact of paired and individual lower passing training to lower passing skill on male volleyball team of SMAN 1 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Paired and Individual Lower Passing Training
